      @FPChris It would get cheaper if it could MASS PRODUCED Einstein, as long as its niche that's impossible.
      And also considering you save while driving that compared to a car , your price limit is ridiculously low compared to one year of an average car.

    I think I already saw one person riding this thing on the busy Ventura Boulevard here in the San Fernando Valley a year ago - - and that is all.

    This is the future of transportation, where there is enough space for this vehicle. Sadly, the world is build around cars and there is often no space for cycling.
    Let's hope there will be more spaces for cycling and walking.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      epSos.de this is true but if cyclist don't take to the streets then it's easily ignored. If more cyclist are on the streets it forces their hands to deal with us! 😉

    • @funny-video-YouTube-channel
      @funny-video-YouTube-channel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, we need more roads that have a speed limit of 30 km/h and cameras that give out fines to the people who do speeding.
      I have seen many people who go 50 or 60 km/h in a street with a lower speed limit.
      I think it is possible to put the bumps in the middle of the street. Those bumps that have a gap in the middle, so that the cyclists can go trough the middle and the cars would still bump, if they speed to much.
      I think the speed limits in smaller streets and the technology of the bums and speed cameras can create an environment, where cycling, walking and crossing the street can be safe and relaxing, the car drivers will adjust and to learn how to cruise, instead of speeding like ina race for the extra 5 seconds, before the next traffic light stop.
      That being said, I also see many cyclists who run the red traffic light. I think we need more roundabouts, where the people can decide if they cross or not, in accordance to the situation. The drivers in the cars would probably also stop and wave to the people to cross, if they would know that there is no traffic light and no pressure to rush trough the roundabout.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      epSos.de yes cyclist need to be held responsible for obeying traffic laws as well. I now record all my rides, so if anything happens I have video.

    It's GREAT!!!!!
    Some enquiries/questions:
    - does it include a windscreen cleaner (to remove water in case of rain)
    - can't design some kind of electricity generator on a wheel so while consuming battery your producing electricity to recharge it?
    - do brakes brake in all weather conditions?
    - does it have gear changes (as on any bicycle)?
    - how does it weigh (both pounds and kilograms)?
    - where are you making them?
    - is it delivered full size or is there a kit Do It Yourself?
    - are cateyes included?
    - could leds be installed for darkness?
    that's all so far.
    Looking forward to your replies
    Cheers
    Richard

    The PEBL, for sure, is environmentally-friendly. The PEBL, for sure, is designed for those of us who wish to attain, and maintain, good health. But you know what? It also looks like an absolute BLAST to get around in! If, God-willing, my wife and I get to move back to Belle Harbor, New York, like we've talked about, we just might buy ourselves a PEBL (or two) for running errands around town.

    • @betterbike
      @betterbike  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Charles Elliott So glad to hear that! Speaking as Nevin Murray co founder, you're absolutely right! The PEBL is a blast to get around in, I drive mine 40 miles a day and it makes the pace of my day much more relaxed. Keep us in mind over the next few months. We are going into production right now!

      +xtafpfhr you drive the PEBL on the side of the road and let cars pass you, our videos show some good examples of this. Regulations will vary state to state but federally you do not need a license, insurance or registration.

    • @williecourthers9450

      Any other words, it's not highway legal. It's driven like a bicycle on the side of the road. Correct? I don't think you can get away with driving this on an interstate highway where speed limits are 70 mph. Talking about road kill. However, I do like it far better than a bicycle.

    We would love to have that in India too. I think this generation is continuously witnessing the side-effects of petrol and diesel cars and motorcycles. May be not all, but some of us will surely consider a healthy life over fake trends, fashions and show-offs. I'm heartily waiting for that day to come when India may get the opportunity to have this too. May you fastly become globally popular and people from every section of the society can get the opportunity to have this as their daily companion. 😇All the best 👍

    At least this one comes with doors unlike the ELF.
    I was sketchy about buying the ELF due to not having doors coming with the vehicle itself & of course on their website you have to buy the doors separately which is a big no for me.
    I live in the US & I would buy this one day. ;)

    I did not do well with the ELF primarily because one must know how to tweek it pretty continually. I need something that is exceedingly simple to maintain. Also I managed to roll it (my fault but very scary since I'm already disabled). As soon as someone produces an ELF like vehicle that I don't need to worry about tightening this that or the other, I'm trying again.

      Technically you are wrong, there are a lot of ways we could clean up the pollution on the planet in a way it wont effect us so much, it would just kill off a lot of other species, such as dumping iron into the ocean to raise its iron content by about 7% and sectioning off an area the size of roade island and using it as a landfill and ten using the gasses it lets off as natural gas, but there are moral issues with that lol

  • @Kayla-eq1hb
    @Kayla-eq1hb 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Many people are comparing this to a car and saying that it's worse, but you can't compare it like that! This is basically an upgraded electric bicycle, not a car! Stop complaining about it because it's a great invention that's completely environmentally friendly. A bonus is that people of almost all ages and abilities can ride it.

    • @johnjacob688
      @johnjacob688 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is, where do you keep it? Its the size of a small car, its not a lightweight bicycle that you can throw over your shoulder and bring up into your apartment.

    • @Kayla-eq1hb
      @Kayla-eq1hb 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it would be hard to store if you lived in an apartment, but I guess if you lived in the suburbs, you could just store it the way you'd store a boat. It could be put in the driveway or backyard and covered with a tarp.

    This is cool, does anyone know if they plan on incorporating a solar system to charge the battery in the future? That's a feature I really like about the elf. You literally don't have to plug it in ever.

    • @betterbike
      @betterbike  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Blue Moon Anarchy we do offer an optional 120w solar panel, however for most people it is more cost effective to go with a larger battery. If you live in a southern state solar is the way to go. If you don't, upgrading your battery will give you more range for the money.

    the option to have a heater
    for additional battery power the elfs 16 ah (ampere hour) cost 999$ on the pebl its 490$ for 32 amp per hour
    the option for window wipers

    Ahh, the first of the ELF clones. ;-) I'm only teasing but you had better be ready to hear that a lot, because between the body shape, same general over all dimensions and what looks like a passingly similar frame design, it's really really close. (this isn't a knock, any vehicle in this area faces the same basic limitations and design considerations.)
    From what I've seen, what makes it better then the Organic Transit ELF?
    Fully enclosed
    2 seater standard
    Optional heater
    Cruise control
    8 speed standard (only 3 on the ELF standard, that's far to few for it's weight)
    it has reverse!!! no more Flintstone-ing to back up.
    an actual rear hatch with gas supports
    much better price ~$5.5-6.5k (the ELF has jumped in price to $8-9k for the 2FR 2 seater model)
    Down side?
    Solar panel is an option and non standard
    It's heavy @~200 lbs, on a human powered vehicle weight is you worst enemy.
    ..... and that's about it.
    I wish you luck, we need more vehicles like it and the ELF.

    It's nice, of course it is. It's so strange that there are so few good easy options for protecting a biker
    against the rain. I mean something small, rolled up in the handlebar, saddle, helmet that combined,
    clicked together give you some protection against the most of the rain. It could be something like a fine
    gauze (or netting?) that let's air pass ( but not the droplets) so it's doesn't capture enough wind to make
    you unstable. I am a lousy and lazy inventor or I would make something myself.

Having a love affair with cycling on and off for several years, Ive learned quite a lot about self propulsion and these types of vehicles are so limited by terrain and weather (wind) that affording a car like price for one will keep many people from buying one, that being said I wish you good luck and I hope you find your niche

      Vitality Massage The PEBL costs $5950. And yes, the PEBL is less noisy due to a full cloth interior.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Maurice games add in the cost of insurance, gas, maintenance, depending on where you live/work cost of parking, and maybe a stretch but health care or gym cost to make up for the lack of exercise you would get in the pebl. All that together your in far less with a Pebl then any new car.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Popeye Gordon so if you went with the 110 watt panel the pebl comes in at $6350.00. That also includes doors, peddle wells, fabric interior, room for passenger, USB charger, reverse, and fully inclosed all included of course. One thing that the Elf has on the Pebl at this point is turn time to receive the bike. Don't know how long it takes to get the Pebl but quoted time was about 3 months but I don't think they will hit that starting up. We shall see haven't heard from them since ordering. Ether it is great to have more then one option for people to choose from.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Popeye Gordon how do you know they will not make a profit? Are you their accountant, or is this an assumption on your part? Maybe the elfs price is inflated and they are wanting to make to much of a profit. Maybe the Pebl is ok with making a little less profit if it means more Pebls on the road.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Popeye Gordon not sure what video your talking about. But agree with a carbon tax. Just watched Bikes vs. Cars on Netflix and it is fascinating. The you have Musk that wants to start a drilling co. to elevate congestion on roads. Happy for the electric vehicle but that still has a high carbon footprint then an elf or a Pebl.

      They are kind of a death trap . I own an elf and To the extent that cars have to slow down, pass safely and then speed up past these on the road is the extent that they also waste fuel & cause pollution. They should at least be able to keep up with traffic in 25 mph if not 35 mph zones to avoid all of the pollution and gas-guzzling that is going to be created by cars having to slow then press their accelerators to get by these things. Companies like Outrider build a much more harmonious vehicle with traffic because they're a little bit faster, like cars, therefore flow much better with cars. I own both and that's my opinion.

    • @betterbike
      @betterbike  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hi Popeye. Firstly, we are starting production as we speak so we're finally getting up and running! Next as we're sure you know, you have a significant advantage of living in Florida. Most Americans do not and thus we have determined that a solar panel should be an option rather than a standard. Instead we offer a larger standard battery of 16ah (768wh). Our optional panel is 110w, thus our panel in full sun takes around 7 hours to charge (768/110=6.9) So yes, for a Floridian solar makes sense, but in the majority of the US it does not.
      In the summer the PEBL's doors can roll up as seen in the video. As we also explained, wen you do this you get a cool breeze while your riding. In short, the PEBL can be just as open as the ELF.
      You're right, there are 800+ ELFs on the road according to OT, but from what we've heard from many ELF customers is far from your experience. We have taken recommendations from all velomobile owners along our design process and as a result, the PEBL is here.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Popeye we all know your insane love and overly defensive stance of anything negative about the elf. Not sure why you troll so much on the Pebl videos. There are differences I have rode many different Velos and the elf and Pebl are not Velos they are pedal cars at best. You could call them a human assisted electric vehicle. With that said when researching both the Elf and Pebl for my next bike purchase the Pebl won out for me, because of several different factors. Also spoke to several elf owners. Compared to the options and builds of the Elf I felt the Pebl was a better option. Again this is a matter of opinion, but If people have the opinion of the Pebl being a better option your statements of opinions and assumptions are probably not helping win people over to the Elf. Just my opinion though.

    • @velovloger2553
      @velovloger2553 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      MsSomeonenew let's not mention that if the Elf is so great why is there not more content saying such? The only real review of the Elf was done by blue monkey after living with it for a year. Now I do see some issues with that review, but they bring up good points as well. The other reviews are from people who ride it for a half hour. There is a guy that "debunks" the blue monkey review who seems to have NEVER rode an elf (or a velomobile) and has disabled comments.
