    Thanks for explaining the V6 and V8. I was seriously confused when researching the 200 pro XS and the 225 4 stroke and the difference between the two. Still not sure the best fit.

    Can you not just use the flush valve instead of using the muffs and plug? Up beside the trim up/down button?

    What is the part called that plugs the front intake when using ear muffs to start your motor in the driveway?

    No cotter pin through the prop nut?

    Nice walkthrough and explanations. Your microphone is close enough to catch your breathing. If you ever want to generate comments on TH-cam, tell everyone that you don't believe in putting an oil film on your filter gaskets!😆Are there any torques specs required for components you loosened? "Pretty tight" is usually good enough, just asking.

      Thanks for the feedback! For the question about torque specs, I’ll make sure to add them in the next service video.

    I see you have a vacuum fluid extractor. Have you tried using it to remove oil from the outboard? I use one on my car and jet ski, but haven't used it on my Verado yet. I'm wondering if the extractor tube is long enough.

    • @ajmcneil3147
      @ajmcneil3147  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! The tube on the one we have is to short to reach in all the way from the top. We find it easier to get the piece of hose and drain the oil from the drain plug. It’s faster and might be a little cleaner in the long run.

    That low water pick up cap u tied on, is it home made or can b purchase from mercury? Good tutorial

      I believe we purchased ours from a marine equipment website. You can basically use anything to block it off so a homemade one would work just fine.

    What kind of boat is that next to you it's wild looking

    • @ajmcneil3147
      @ajmcneil3147  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what year but it’s older than a 1972 because that’s when they required H.I.D numbers and this boat does not have one. It’s a Monterey made by Slick Craft Boats.

    Thanks for this! Is there a specific grease you use for the fittings or will any marine grease do?

    • @ajmcneil3147
      @ajmcneil3147  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We use the Mercury 2-4-C. But any marine grease should work just as good.
