    What is the part called that plugs the front intake when using ear muffs to start your motor in the driveway?

    Does it make sense to connect the fuel line before putting the carb in? Can that even be done? Seems like it’d make things easier. Also, that vent line can be tucked BEHIND the carb so as not to interfere with the throttle linkage. Good video!

    Nice job explaining how things go together. My main comment would be the use of the impact driver. I never like to use them when you have dissimilar metals and fasteners that have not been removed in a long time. It's to easy to destroy the aluminum threads. Also, I don't know the value, but I would guess that the torque spec is pretty low for those bolts that hold the housing together.

    Thanks for explaining the V6 and V8. I was seriously confused when researching the 200 pro XS and the 225 4 stroke and the difference between the two. Still not sure the best fit.

    Hello, I looked at a Godfrey pontoon today with a 2016 Mercury 115 mounted on it. Has 238 hours on it. I had them remove the top engine cover. I noticed oil sitting all around in the front of the engine to the right of the oil filter. Is there something in that area that's prone for oil to leak? I'm looking for suggestions before I would go to purchase. Thanks.

    • @ajmcneil3147
      @ajmcneil3147 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry for the late reply but from my experience when changing the oil filter, it can get a little messy. Now the oil filter has a little tray underneath it which is supposed to cath any leftoer oil but it can fill up pretty quickly. Another possibility might be from refilling with oil since the oil cap is on top up by the front of the motor. I have seen where people have spilled oil down the front of the motor.

    I liked the tip on anti-seize on the plug thread. I would also add dielectric silicone grease on the tip of plug where the cable attached to help keep rust and corrosion (especially in salt water).

    I use dish soap instead of grease in the housing. Washes right out, doesn’t let sand stick to nothing and im not flushing sticky grease through the engine for sand to maybe get stuck to. I know some use vasoline , some use grease . Mercury 2-4-c does contain petroleum distillates and petroleum attacks rubber. Dawn dish soap for me Thanks for taking the time on the video

    • @ajmcneil3147
      @ajmcneil3147 ปีที่แล้ว

    very good video.During 300 hrs maintenance you should change also the thermostat and the zinc anodes?Am i correct?

    • @ajmcneil3147
      @ajmcneil3147 ปีที่แล้ว

      The thermostat and anodes should be inspected every 100 hours. As long as there is no damage or major decay to the thermostat or anodes they should be fine.
