I don't need to watch anymore videos of girls just putting on their makeup and listing the products. That's not a tutorial, that's just you getting ready in front of a camera.

    Can you do a video discussing the difference between contour and bronzer?

    • @arianahi
      @arianahi 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      to quickly sum it up, contour is to create the shadows of your face such as your cheekbones, jawline, etc while bronzing is to add color to those areas. contour defines those areas more while bronzer makes those areas warmer.

    • @nothx2985
      @nothx2985 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Mimi also, contours are more cool toned, grey-ish shades while bronzers are warmer !

    • @Mimi-vw9jh
      @Mimi-vw9jh 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Iris but so many people use bronzer to contour. is that ok?

    • @nothx2985
      @nothx2985 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Mimi depends on the bronzer I'd say. if you find one that isn't shimmery and isn't too orange looking it could work! (for reference I use the Bobbi Brown bronzer in "golden light" for contour sometimes and that works for me!)
      also, I think a lot of people think it's the same thing so they just use bronzer as contour because they don't know the difference (I definitely have been there)

    • @MishkaMeshel
      @MishkaMeshel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Mimi yes for sure there is a difference between bronzer and contour. you should not be using bronzer to contour although almost everyone on youtube does it (and if you ask me it just looks like their face is dirty but that is my opinion). if you are going to use bronzer as Contour at the very least use one without shimmer :-)

    I've been using this technique when I apply my highlighter. I have some sun spots on the tops of my cheeks and use concealer to cover them and when I use the sweeping motion to apply blush and highlighter it would move the concealer I just put down! This method of "tapping" has worked so much better and still looks natural!!

  • @anoelcollection7215
    @anoelcollection7215 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I found that my foundation would move too. I started applying my bronzer and blush by using a tapping motion about a month ago and found the results much more flattering. This is a really cool video. I love how you still teach when all everyone else does is show off now.

    Wayne, I was fortunate to work for Estee Lauder when I was younger, but can't afford their products anymore.
    One of the many things that I love about you, is your genuine honesty about the full spectrum of beauty products on the market today. I use e.l.f. Cosmetics, L'Oreal, Maybeline and Max Factor all of which I've bought because they work for ME!
    Your tutorials are simple to follow, yet very informative! Since I've been subscribed and watching your videos, I've looked at my now 42 year old face in a much better way.
    I now have hooded eyes, sparse eyebrows, liver spots, and WRINKLES!!! Yet the 20 year old, unmarried, childless version of me could get away with so much more, so many different techniques etc.
    I guess what I'm trying to say is THANK YOU! For making my make up grow up too! xxx

    thanks for making this technique more publicly well known. I've been using this technique for a couple of years, I actually stumbled upon it by accident (sometimes human error reveals the best things).
    the biggest thing to me about it, is that it looks so much more natural doing it this way!! not as much goes on and lays on top of the skin this way it's less output yet buildable if desired, and by pressing it into the skin it looks like it's apart of the skin. end result=natural look and ya don't look like someone that had bleaching treatments gone wrong!

    Thank you so much!!!!! I have looked all over youtube for a solution to this very issue and there was NOTHING!!! Every time I put on my foundation and try to blend contour it rubs off! No matter the product or how I prime or set it. You saved my makeup!!!!

    I've been using this method for years because I'm one of those people who's foundation likes to slide right off when I use a sweeping motion. Great video!

      Same! I'm addicted to sunscreen now, especially cause I tanned a LOT in my hs years!! D: Now I LOVE being pale, and don't want wrinkles, spots or SUN CANCER... I already smoke cigarettes, so I already have all the odds against me... I try to do everything else good for your skin to make up, but... I know smoking is an awful vice and it may not matter... BUT, ya know... lol
