I love how you speak as if you met a celebrity, and Charlotte Tilbury is amazing, don't get me wrong! Just don't forget, you are an amazing makeup artist too. We look up to you as well and love hearing your tips.
Wayne and Stephanie Nicole and Kathleen lights are my absolute favorite makeup TH-camrs they are all so down to earth not crazy hyped on happy juice and so informative they do so much more than show you makeup looks and how to's they actually educate you about the products and formulas I love them so much I'm so thankful for there TH-cam channels
I love watching Charlotte Tilbury's videos because unlike what we see, almost everybody doing on the internet, she doesn't cake the face up with several layers of foundation, concealer etc instead uses a few products, few brushes and voila! the result is beautiful. What most of us see on instagram and everywhere else is basically clones of each other with a gazillion layers of product and plastic like results.
You, Charlotte and Lisa Elridge are on another level for me. You are all exceptional in the way you apply cosmetics; it's so refreshing to see different looks from the caked up instagram makeup we see.
I love learning tips from the real pros! when I first started watching TH-cam videos a few years ago you and Lisa Eldridge were always my favorites because your work is flawless yet the model still looks like a real person rather than a caked up face!
Back in the 80s seriously a sh.t tonne of moisturiser was primer we did put our foundation on with our fingers not to mention eyeshadow yes fingers..I can say hand on heart 9/10 you would walk out of the house looking fabulous... Thanx Wayne & Thanx Charlotte Tilbury....🇦🇺💙💕💄
I love how you uplift others in your videos, it's so nice yo hear someone who praises other's work where others are tearing each other down. You are so gracious. Love watching you!
I've met Charlotte at the launch of her makeup brand at the KaDeWe here in Berlin. She is one of the most inspiring and impressive women I've ever talked to. Charlotte Tilbury now is one of my favorite makeup brand.
I love how absolutely excited you are by just talking about her, you have learned much from your mentor, because you too are a good mentor. Please take vlog some of your gigs!
WOW, I just extended my eyebrows a bit like you said and winged out the eyeliner a tiny bit more and extended the eyeshadow to the end of my new longer brow and my face looks much more striking...who would have thought something so small would actually make a difference! Thanks Wayne and Charlotte!!! :) x
One of the most valuable videos Ive ever watched. As a watercolor artist, I really appreciate & understand the tip about the brush use for eyes & using fingers for face/skin makeup application. This confirms my feelings about not needing so many brushes. I’ve collected quite a few but feel confident that I have quite enough, now! Knowledge is power. Overjoyed that you were willing to share your day with Charlotte, with us!🥰🤩
I don't know much about Charlotte Tilbury but after listening to you I can't wait to watch some of her videos! You're such a good person, humble and inviting with a killer sense of humor, obviously, Charlotte knows that.
Thank you so much for sharing! You're the first youtuber i ever watched when i started doing make up at 14 (I'm turning 21 soon!), and you helped me so much through out years and helped me to become so much more developed at doing make up!xx
Everything about this video makes me SO HaPpY!!! I started watching your videos nearly 10 years ago, when I was just starting out as a professional makeup artist. I have fallen in Love with Charlotte's line over the last year. Like you, I also own/use nearly everything - obsessed with her wonderful products! Thank you, thank you for sharing not only her amazing tips, but to hear how truly wonderful in real life she is, as well. I truly appreciate this video!
I love these tips! After watching hundreds of makeup videos I started to think there's nothing left to learn. Your channel takes it to another level! I love your style.
You have many qualities! But especially your humble personality is so sweet, warm and wonderful. So many TH-camrs and other people in the industry refer to you over and over. And still you manage to stay humble and open and curious. I really love that! As well as quite many of your other qualities. You seem like a really good human being. Kindest regards from Denmark, Scandinavia ❤️
I don’t know that anyone could beat you applying makeup. I love how you present it and also like that you are not heavy handed with makeup. Love you, Wayne. 😘❤️
I never could do winged liner, but after watched one of her videos where she draws a dot and works from there, i suddenly could do it, as if something clicked in my head, must have been fantastic to spend an entire day with her.
The Feline Flick - Cat Eye Make-up Tutorial | Charlotte Tilbury | @CTilburyMakeup Here is the video that helped me so much, you can do it with pencil, gel or liquid liner, whatever you prefer.
I thought I'd watched all of your videos, but for some reason I'd missed this. And what a one to miss! This is fabulous!! 2 fabulous artists' tips in one. Thank you!💜❤
I met Charlotte at the New York launch of her line and spoke to her briefly-- what a charming, earthy, down-to-earth woman with a lovely bohemian chic attitude. I could say the same thing about Lisa Eldridge -- someone you'd love to have as a friend ( like Wayne Goss!)
Having been a makeup artist in the commercial and print photography industry for over thirty years the techniques employed by Ms.Tilbury, especially the use of fingers for foundation and concealers, the amount of moisturizer(s), brow elongation and shimmer(remember this is coming from photography) as is the amount of shimmer/highlighting as well as shading are essential for bringing out the features (keep in mind that commercial work exists in two dimensions vs. three in 'real life', are all industry standards for old timers such as myself.
Apart from you being an advocate of "keeping it real", I just love the way you speak. I can keep your videos on and lull myself to sleep. It's melody to the ears. Keep up the great work!
What an amazing experience that must have been, a whole day with Charlotte Tilbury and makeup. You are an amazing artist yourself but I can see where it would have been such a treat and such a day to remember for you. She just seems so passionate about what she does.
Wayne the Artist you are introducing me to are changing the game for me. The other day I spent all day watching everything I could find of an artist applying makeup to herself, and the finished look of makeup she did on others. I could tell as I watched that the tips that I picked up are the type that my makeup application can turn the corner to getting better. I have decided to try the buffing technique, I'm excited.
Thanks Wayne I'm going to have a beautiful face and no money. Lol. Your brushes and all of Charlotte's line. Omg. I love her skin and cosmetic products.
Wayne I'm so so so thankful to you for regularly uploading these tips and sharing your vast knowledge. That's such an incredible gesture on your part. Thank you so much! I so appreciate learning so much from you! I think half the truly useful make up tips I know have come from watching your videos. Truly thankful.
I've been watching you for years now and I just wanted to say that I absolutely love how passionate you are about what you do. You were like that when I first started watching you and it makes me so happy to come to your videos and see that you still have that same level of passion today. It always gets me extra excited to do my makeup and to try new things😊
One of my favourite videos EVER! Thank you for sharing your tips from Charlotte. Love her. When I met her at an event I got emotional--and definitely didn't expect to!
This was amazing, you and Charlotte are absolutely inspiring. True artistry, and true artists have their own techniques and it is so kind of both you and Charlotte to share them with the world. I've learned so much from you, and from her tutorials as well and it's just so inspiring. I'm blown away
It is so nice of you not only saying who you learned certain things from but sharing them with your viewers. I never liked powder on my face as, before these translucent ones, they always looked as "too much". Due to aging it looks even worse and leaves room for other products and not look cakey after 2 hours. Anyways, big thanks for sharing!
I always put on lots of moisturizer on and let it soak in: I also let primer set a few min. But never thought about letting the foundation be pre set it. I'm trying that in the morning. Makes so much sense. I want my skin showing through and would love to use less powder. thank you for sharing these!
I'm old school...I've watched countless makeup tutorials and have bought foundation brushes and sponges and always go back to just using my fingers to apply foundation. I just figured you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but I'm glad to hear maybe the old way is the best way after all.
I've been reading this 1950's beauty book that's written by actual old Hollywood makeup artists. They seem to use fingers for almost everything. I'm going to try that out and see what happens.
I always use my fingers. And the reason for that is, they’re my fingers, it’s my skin. It doesn’t matter to me... because I wash my hands. But you can never truly get your sponges clean- not really.
Also, fingers don't absorb the product...sponges seem to absorb more than they distribute. A light touch is all it takes with a finger, although, a good brush could smooth things out even more nicely... :-)
I always thought I was 'the odd one out' I didn't realise I did a lot of my makeup just like Charlotte's techniques (waiting for moisturisers/primers/foundation to 'sink in' before each step, using fingers, using super sharp pencils (resharpen stuff every day!) , t zone powder technique, using q tips to define, using blending brushes and avoiding flat brushes unless I am using pigments, and I ALWAYS use shimmer/glitter/metallic anything) and that's because it turns out the most beautiful end result and it never fitted with what beauty gurus does. Thank you Wayne I feel so much more confident knowing that I am not so 'shitty' at makeup artistry after all this time!
Your willingness to share sets you apart as well. In another video you made about giving away your extra makeup to those who you knew would appreciate it, I thought that it was just as generous of you to share your expertise and knowledge of makeup with all of us. I am very grateful for that. I save a lot of your videos in my watch later list and reference them to continue learning and getting better at applying makeup. I thank you for that. Truly.
I just watched the 2014 video with you and charlotte tilbury and when she applied the bronzer to the model that brush look exquisite. It melted into the models skin. I have to invest in some. Spectacular quality.
The thing I like about Wayne is that he is open-minded and not afraid to introduce new or amended ways of applying makeup. Also, I totally agree about the crease brushes!!
Thank you for another wonderful video Wayne.... I was happy to hear about the no flat brushes too... I have never liked using them on myself, but have always felt a bit of pressure to have them. Now I have double confirmation that they really aren't necessary
I love watching Wayne I refer him to ppl all the time. From Charlotte and everyone else he is amazing as well. I'm still learning everyday. I've given a lot of his tips and tricks out weather he's told us he saw this person do it or that person. Were still getting our info from him and his channel. Which I love by the way and always have always will. I do watch Charlotte, Lisa Eldridge, Jordan Liberty and many more. I do wish he'd do more makeup on woman or whoever he wants but a variety of skin tones. Lots of love and thx for sharing!
Wayne Goss, I have paused your video halfway through. This is exactly why I like watching your videos. Straight to the point, I love your 'science' thinking behind makeup, straight to the point. I don't ever make comments on TH-cam, but I must say, thank you for your videos. Love your passion and who knows, maybe I will work you with you in the future! xo!
This video was so exciting for me I love love love Charlotte Tilbury products, I have the Wonderglow, Magic Foundation, Magic Eye Cream, Instant Face palette, brow products I just love it. My husband even bought me some for Christmas as a surprise and boy was I surprised as he got exactly the right shades for me. My all time favourite lipstick is the Stone Rose its gorgeous as an everyday neutral. Thank you so much Wayne xx
the way u make makeup simple.. your the boss of artistry . thankyou .. for years now and I still learn from you. so inspiring and positive. keep shinnin 😘 much love.
I love this where u can actually see why u would let the foundation set before powdering or the tip about the crease brush where I'm no make up artist but I myself find I just tend to use a crease brush on my eyes and it goes back to where preparation is key so lots of moisturizer. I love this video thanks for sharing
It really is just Charlotte Tillbury waves a magic wand and perfection happens. I have watched her demo videos before and it is like she seems to be winging it, doing things haphazardly and like you said uses her fingers and yet the finished look somehow ends up looking absolutely amazing.
I love Charlotte Tilbury and her makeup line. I have both foundations, Wonderglow, Pillow Talk lipstick and liner and a few other lippies including Bitch Perfect, Magic Cream, Lip Scrub, the Limited Edition 5 minute palette in Seduction, Bronze and Glow palette and her eyelash curlers.. Think that's it.. They're pricey but oh so worth it. I have many high end eyeshadow palettes but my HG is the all in one palette. The eyeshadows blend like a dream and look beautiful!
I have a lot of make up brands in my kit as an aspiring MUA, but Charlotte Tilbury is my favorite brand for my personal make up, as well as for my 2 teenage daughters
Hi Wayne I love Charlotte and I have a drawer full of her products right upto her new collection for different colour of eyes , I have lots of her videos , I bought one collection , next month I will get another I love her and watched her do her mother’s makeup and my gosh I have learnt an awful lot from her too , being mature with Charlotte age doesn’t matter which is inspiring !
Wayne, what Charlotte means to you, you mean to all of us that look up to you every single day through our journey with make up! Much love to you and can't wait for another meet and greet in London! x
Wow! I so appreciate this from you! I love that you have shared tips you learned from Charlotte Tilsbury. I love her makeup line - in 2015, I had never heard of her, but fell in love with the 10 different makeup looks. I purchased one of the packages and was blown away. Her pencils were so creamy - I had always used liquid eyeliner because pencil never looked quite right. I used Charlotte's and how it blended and looked so beautiful and the neat line. Oh, I was in heaven. I cannot afford to have all of her beautiful products, but she is an amazing lady! Thanks and maybe, I can hire you one day to show me how to work on my own face.
Thank you Wayne! I love your style, and I love Charlotte too. Sometimes she moves so fast, I miss some of her applications. You have helped me understand her so much more with this video. 😘
It's so great to hear about using less powder! I see a lot of TH-camrs packing it on and baking under eyes (no shade intended, keep doing it if it works for you), but this does NOT work for me, I have fine lines and powder settles into them making it look worse and drawing more attention to the area.
I love how meaningful your videos are. Your words are intimate and the know how is from the best and you editing is great!!! P.S. I just bought my first Charlotte Tilbury compact today.
Thanks so much for sharing! I have let my foundation set in the past but wasn't sure if it was the best thing to do. I am going to do this more often to avoid overusing powder.
Thank you for this video. I don’t know why but this made me cry. The part about the shimmer and how makeup makes you feel. I think as I get older I can’t forgive or accept the aging in my face. It’s so hard to find a TH-cam channel that not only informs you about makeup and makeup application but allows you to feel that it’s ok to wear what makes you feel good. As a cosmetologist I want to make my clients feel as beautiful and happy as I possibly can and with that there are rules for application and process to achieve the best result. With that being said rules for mature skin, dry skin, hooded eyes etc that I was taught were matte eyeshadow, no shimmer, no color basically I thought of makeup as hide all of your imperfections and try to look as young as you can but blend in with everyone. Don’t do anything to bring attention to yourself because you are older and aren’t as beautiful. The amount of makeup I got rid of when I turned 40 because I was told I was too old to wear it was crazy. It was makeup I loved. It wasn’t until I found your channel and seeing this video that the lightbulb went off. Thank you so much! I love your channel and thank you for the time, talent, and the passion you put into your craft I really appreciate it! (I really hope this was able to be understood I’m not much of a writer)
Thank you so much for sharing! These are great tips and make me feel much better about the way I apply and wear makeup. You’re just as phenomenal an artist
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful advice Wayne! I have been following you for years and you are so generous with sharing knowledge, I have learnt so much. xx
Incredibly informative. I usually cringe at the thought of using my fingers to blend out my foundation only because I don’t like to get my hands dirty, but I definitely will try using my fingers in addition to letting it set in before immediately going in with powders. Thanks so much for the tips Wayne. I’m trying to step away from the whole Instagram look and your tips and tricks have been INVALUABLE ❤️
This is awesome! A few of these tips are things I do on myself already just from trial and error from doing my own makeup for so long. Yaayy it makes me feel smart!
I've been elongating my brows ever since I watched Moulin Rouge about 2 years ago and fell in love with the way Satine has her brows. makes such a massive difference to the face, especially if you have a wide forehead like myself
Great video and great tips. Never knew she developed Tom Ford's make up line. No wonder I adore both Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Ford. What I love is everything works. I haven't once waisted a penny on her products. Every thing I've purchased, I use. Thanks Wayne.
I've been wearing makeup since the early 80s and I remember reading back then the tip to let your foundation set before powdering... probably read it in Cosmo or Redbook or some teen magazine. You're the first person to bring this up in the modern era. I also still follow Brooke Shields' mascara tips from 1984. Ha!
Thank you again! I cannot stop watching you! I subscribed to Charlotte Tilburys channel and watched a few videos I don't really know to much about her or own anything from her. That will soon change😉
i love to blend my foundation with my fingers and then just fix it up a little with a sponge i also let my foundation set/dry by doing it first and then do my eyeshadow etc then go in with concealer and powder
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to utilize a couple of those tips now. And to add, I'll be 42 in Aug & I have always & still preferred shimmery shades over matte. For me I feel like the matte accentuates my wrinkly eyelids where the shimmers just make everything sparkle a bit. I know it's the opposite of the way it's "supposed" to be but it works for me.
Thank you for making this video and sharing the tips you learned from CT with us. I just ordered some CT products from Beautylish, and it was hard to choose just a few. I also have a milestone bday coming up and for my gift all I want are your beautiful makeup brushes, so I ordered some to start my collection. They are so beautiful and I cannot wait to use them!
The models are pretty much flawless. Doubt I'll achieve the same results as my skin is uneven tone and dark pigmented spots. I'm trying my best to reduce my dark pigmentation but sadly these things take time as I'm trying to go the natural route.
Terrie Smith get laser treatments. I get them all the time and use natural products. The dark spots take too long to fade. It helps speed up the process. It worth it. Find a laser you like that works with your skin and lifestyle.
Terrie Smith I started using sea buckthorn oil lately and it has helped with my dark spots TREMENDOUSLY 10/10 would recommend. Faster than Rose hip oil
+NAIRDA +Vol. Thank you so much for all your tips. As far as laser treatment, what laser procedure do you think is best that won't do harm to my skin? And do you mind me asking what type of laser treatment you had done as I have no clue on where to even begin researching. 😊 Thank you for the buckthorn oil. I've been using rose hip oil and it doesn't seem like there is a huge improvement, so I'll definitely give your recommended oil a try.👍
Terrie Smith I've had so many. The one I use now....? Idk what it's called but it's very gentle. No numbing, peeling or down time. I go every two weeks. I recently found Groupon and they had great suggestions and pricing locally. You can call and ask questions about laser before deciding. Honestly it's the best thing for dark spots. I also use mandelic acid from MUAC and a retin A.
VoL.~Omg, thank you so much! I'll definitely check all these options out as I am tired of this dark spots on my face. Lol Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing these tips! I'm an older sub, and often think back to when I first started using makeup. No brushes, no sponges, no eyelash curlers, just fingers, spit and polish mascara (still my all time favorite - Maybelline - not sure if it's even made anymore). We used lipstick as blush (so it was all cohesive) and I don't think we used foundation - just a powder compact! While I think the makeup today is incredible, and I have at least 50 brushes, 4 foundations, 6 blushes, 4 different mascaras and a mascara primer, so I've bought into it, and do look pretty good (!) I wonder if I could still do that minimum makeup of the 60's!
I love how you speak as if you met a celebrity, and Charlotte Tilbury is amazing, don't get me wrong! Just don't forget, you are an amazing makeup artist too. We look up to you as well and love hearing your tips.
Cassondra Carmack Allgeyer - that's such a sweet thing to say : )
Cassondra Carmack Allgeyer 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Cassondra Carmack Allgeyer agree 100%
It's true. If I could have any person in the world do my makeup, it would have to be either Wayne or Lisa Eldridge!

Yesss totally agree!! I'm getting so bored of the instagram makeup mask!
if you love her videos you should really check out Lisa Eldridge
Yes I have and you are right I really like Lisa's way too
Maha Fatimah except she only uses gorgeous models, soooo...
Yet she will turn a person into an oil slick with a shit ton of moisturizer and dewy pore clogging products lmao as if that's any better?
You, Charlotte and Lisa Elridge are on another level for me. You are all exceptional in the way you apply cosmetics; it's so refreshing to see different looks from the caked up instagram makeup we see.
Wayne, some of us think you are just as special as CT :)

You're the same way! Always sharing all your makeup tips with us. Thanks for sharing this experience.
I love this where u can actually see why u would let the foundation set before powdering or the tip about the crease brush where I'm no make up artist but I myself find I just tend to use a crease brush on my eyes and it goes back to where preparation is key so lots of moisturizer. I love this video thanks for sharing
The way you talked being nostalgic about your experience with your idol is so so so visible...your eyes shine with pride
Your experience with Charlotte Tilbury sounds absolutely Amazing!!... Thank You for Sharing your Blessings!! Truly Appreciative! 😘🙏🏽
It really is just Charlotte Tillbury waves a magic wand and perfection happens. I have watched her demo videos before and it is like she seems to be winging it, doing things haphazardly and like you said uses her fingers and yet the finished look somehow ends up looking absolutely amazing.
CT is LIFEEE‼️🙌🏾😍😍
Thanks Wayne for this video!!🙌🏽🙌🏽 Love CT
I love Charlotte's products and tutorials. Her products are luxurious but I love your makeup brushes the best.
Goss is super geeking over Charlotte Tilbury... So cute. To be fair he has been in love with her products for years.
It’s great to see makeup artists supporting each other.
Thank you so much for sharing these amazing tips. I love how it truly still comes down to the hydration/healthy glow of the skin❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful advice Wayne! I have been following you for years and you are so generous with sharing knowledge, I have learnt so much. xx
You got me into Charolette’s make up line and this video just makes me love her all the more.
Very kind of you..... promoting beautiful Charlotte Tilbury....🌹..Will have to look into her products!!! Thanks Wayne!!!
What a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for sharing what you learned. I'm excited to try these tips out.
i love to blend my foundation with my fingers and then just fix it up a little with a sponge
i also let my foundation set/dry by doing it first and then do my eyeshadow etc then go in with concealer and powder
Love, love, this tips. I would love to see clips of the video. I think you and Charlotte are both amazing makeup artists. Thank you for these tips.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us Wayne. YOU are inspiring as well!
Thank you for sharing! It's incredibly fun and inspiring to see your passion about learning tips and sharing them with us!!! 😁
I want you to know you are amazing. You have beaten the odds and risen above many. Good job!!!
Thanks Wayne, I just love Charlotte Tilbury's makeup. Just fabulous!
Yeeeessss. Makes me feel good for wearing so much shimmer at 43. Haha. And only using crease and pencil brushes. Sweet. Thank you for sharing!!!
+NAIRDA
+Vol.
Thank you so much for all your tips. As far as laser treatment, what laser procedure do you think is best that won't do harm to my skin? And do you mind me asking what type of laser treatment you had done as I have no clue on where to even begin researching. 😊
Thank you for the buckthorn oil.
Lol
Thank you. I really appreciate it.
I remember watching a video a long time ago where Wayne was with charlotte and it was pretty awesome to see how excited he was to learn from her
I love the tip about pre set foundation and then adding powder!!
Fiona Frazer yes and how about burning eyeliner on a curling iron!
Thank you Wayne for sharing this with all of us. I love anything you have to share with us but this was extra special....♥Thank you ~♥
You and Charlotte are some of the only makeup artists I watch
I love my Bobbi Brown large fluff brush used for packing color on the lid!!! I use it almost every day 😉
