Like you, I saw a bunch of videos showing how to disassemble the machine and was thinking it was a day of work for me (amateur), likely to be followed by having to call a professional anyways. Instead, i fixed it in less than 5 minutes!! Worked perfectly. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much! I just replaced my thermistor, I didn't even tip the washer forward, since my dryer is stacked, but I was able to still go in blind and make the swap easily. Worked like a charm. This video is priceless!!! (I have this exact washer and color and it's probably coming close to 15 years old, thanks to TH-cam, I've managed to keep it running through several small repairs, so far this was the easiest)
Not sure exactly what will happen here but I followed your advice and tipped the machine up and wiggled the wiring harness and the code went away. Far easier than pulling half the machine apart! Thanks for the video! If it persists I will replace the required parts but so far so good.
couldn't findout how to remove the drawers. So i went in from the back with a small mirror and a flash light. took 5 min. to remove and install. (the Thrmistor is on the far left if you go in from the back. You can feel 4 connectors, the 1st one on the left has rubber around it. The other 3 don't. ) Hope that helps.
On some models, there's a foot and a half by foot and a half access hole under the washer (WM0642HW)! Might want to look under the washer before concluding to take stuff apart. That made the thermistor replacement trivial. A replacement thermistor was only $10.
Great video!! super easy but, I found that my problem is the blue wire is out of the white plastic thing (don't know the name of that) can you tell me how to fix that? thanks
My washer is on a pedestal (which seems to have a solid sheet-metal panel between it and the washer) - is there any way to access the thermistor other than (i) cutting a hole in the pedestal top panel) or (ii) pulling off the front of the washer with all that entails?

Yes, which is why I think he suggests to tip it forward, so you can get in that hole. I just went in the back and was still able to do it.

my white wire "snapped" from the harness the thermistor connects into. Any idea on how to fix this?

One of my connector wires is snapped, thermistor is fine. How do i get the connector replaced?

Sadly mine came with drawers this won't help those of us with drawers.
