    In 2020 I bought my new 992 C2S here in Orlando and had a GIAC tune placed on it at that time. It required having the actual ECU removed and shipped to California. I LOVE the tune, as it is somewhat comparable to the M-Tune in power. But I would advise everyone to get an M-Tune over the GIAC tune simple due to the ability to remove and put in the Tune directly through the OBD-II port. Also during scheduled servicing at a Porsche dealership I cannot remove it and must ABSOLUTELY make sure the tech does not code over it every time. That's a real pain in the Butt! The GIAC tune unfortunately does not have the little things, like cutting off the start-stop button. I have even been told by other 992 owners that have been over to the Real ST. dyno and found the M-Tune making not only more power but a smoother transition overall. Unfortunately in 2020 M-Tune had not broken in to the OBD-II and so I went with the GIAC Tune. But now with the little things like stopping the cold start on the 992 in the morning and the ability to REV the car past 4,000 rpm's in neutral is not available in my GIAC Tune. And you have NO idea how BAD I want to rev it up to 7,000 in neutral. As I have an Akrapovic exhaust system with high flow Fabspeed 200 cell catalytic converters to really low ball the sound. Also, the ability to remove and place the tune in and out of the cars ECU through my OBD-II has me wanting me to switch over to the M-Tune. Thought I'd just share my little bit of experience about a tuned 992 C2S with those that maybe on the fence on getting a Tune and which tune to get..... Get the M-Tune !!!

    • @Flat6Motorsports
      @Flat6Motorsports  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for sharing. These are all reasons why we find the M-Engineering solution to be the best in class. It really empowers the customer with a full suite. We've also tested several 992 tunes on the same dyno and the M-Engineering not only made the best power but also scored out best on the subjective driving feel. The only area we found that might benefit from some tweaking is for track use, a little less aggressive of a boost ramp curve would provide a little more linearity to the power delivery, providing some greater feel/control on more technical tracks or sections. On the street, it's perfect as it provides that extra level of engagement every time you drive the car.

      No I didn't. I got a full warranty from Champion Motorsports in Pompano Beach Florida along with my GIAC tune. Remind you, I had the Tune put in October 2020 before M-Engineering had broken the OBD-II for their tune and the only way to flash the ECU was to actually remove it and send it to GIAC in California. Hope this Helps!

    Just installed this tune on my 992 Carrera4. First time ever I was tuning one of my cars so I was a bit apprehensive. Just to let you know it all went very well, the only glitch was the dongle connection with the computer/software took 4-5 tries to get a good connection for some reason. But aside from that it worked flawlessly, everything worked as it should, no faults error in the dashboard nothing. Didn't have to troubleshoot anything after the install. Additional power and torque is OBVIOUS, feels like a different league of cars. Only ran about 30 miles with the tune on, but so far I've very satisfied with this product. Thanks Flat 6 motorsports

      I used this product on my 992 base. Been a week and it’s been an OUTSTANDING addition. I highly recommend.
      Word of advise though, when you do the ECU read to send to M Engineering, make sure you specify in that original email the different features you would like, for example, explicitly state that you want the pops and gurgles to stay or be removed, the on off, the sport exhaust ON OFF, etc. otherwise the tune file they send back will only be the ecu tune and you’ll have to email them again to get the correct tune file

      @Flat6Motorsports  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, very safe. We've been running 700HP+ since the 991.2 on these motors. The blocks are shared with the 992 Turbo (less of a bore to get the 3.0L displacement). Extremely durable without any reliability issues. In fact, Porsche uses tuning as a strategy through the various Carrera models.

    I am not a fan of those sounds when lift off the accelerator pedal....
    I am grown up with silky smooth NA BMW engines
    and want to enjoy the engine breaking without those cracks💥
    More suitable if you got a V12 Lamborghini to spit 💥fire🔥☄️with to impress young men....if you are into that.
    If you make sure that the engine is warm then you can rev. it out....
    The 3.5' rpm is a protection for your cold engine and your Neighbours ears...
    I appreciate that there is a real on/off feature for the sport exhaust and the start/stop function.
    One upside with the carrera turbo engines compared to NA engines before is the Tune-ability.
