I own a 2012 ($2,500) and a 2014 Ford Focus ($3,300) with the 2.0 DuraTech automatic transmissions. Great cars at 35 MPG both with 200,000 miles. Also, a 1998 Ford F-150 Base model ($2,500) with the 4.6 2 valve, 170,000 miles. A think God helped me purchase these great vehicles with great engines. I always feel that $100 here and there is always better than a car payment 😀 Love the video s.
Hey man, my drivers side recirculation door actuator has gone out. so the passenger side is blowing heat ( I want) but my drivers is blowing cold. (I don’t want) . I need your help because I only saw a video on how to replace the passenger side not the drivers side.
I will add the Ford 5.0 Coyote is among one of Fords best engines ever produced. It’s been the main V8 for over a decade, and is in its 4th generation. Been in millions of vehicles (F-150’s/Mustangs) and has proven itself to not only be great to mod, but also be very reliable! I’m surprised they weren’t mentioned in here best engine category! Not many complaints and I see many 5.0 F-150’s for sale with well over 200k miles on them, some even 350k +.
3.8V6 Essex from the original Taurus - junk ** 3.0V6 Vulcan from the original Taurus - excellent. ** The original 4.6L V8 2V - run for ever. The 3.5/3.7 Cyclone is a great engine, but only the front drive transverse installs like the Edge have the internal water pump. The pickups and Mustangs have an external pump and are great as installed.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 2.0 NA Duratec in my 2012 Focus uses a timing chain, not belt, to drive the valve-train. Did you mean to replace the external accessory drive belt when replacing water pump also?
My 2015 Fusion SE had a cracked cylinder head in 3 places at 22k miles not such a great engine for us. They fixed under warranty and then it made it to 55k miles before issues again. After getting that fixed we got rid of it for a 2020 Toyota Camry SE and have not had one problem in 4 years of ownership. Ford would not warranty it the 2nd time it failed so they Do not stand behind their work IMO! I take well care of my vehicles too oil changes like clock work every 5k miles and transmission services every 45k. Coolant service once a year. That car was nice to drive, but not built to last. The minute we test drove the Camry we could feel the difference in build quality. Not saying every Toyota is like this, but this car has been amazing so far reliability wise. If Ford would have made the Fusion as well they would have had a hit on their hands. Weak transmissions were a big problem on them as well. I was a Loyal Ford customer up until 2003 the 2015 Fusion SE taught us a lesson avoid Ford at all cost in this modern turbo era. I know others have had good luck we did not and how Ford handled that repair is what turned us against them had they owned up and stood behind their repair and did the right thing we may be driving them today. They saved money screwing us, but lost more in long term sales now Toyota gets all our business and future sales and I am aware of the Tundras issues.
@@JasPlun strange, must have not been the 2.5. I was referring to the 2.5 non turbo n/a engine. if it was that engine I have never heard of the heads cracking on those... they are super reliable engines. 300k plus engines if taken care of. I have had my 14 fusion since 2014 and it has been a VERY reliable car. I currently have 175k on it. I would buy another in a heart beat if they still made them. I actually sold my 2015 corolla bc of all the issues I have had with that car. I also have owned that since new. trans completely failed at 10k that had to be replaced. the ac condenser started leaking at 56k. the worst was the interior rattle. every panel on that car rattled and was way worse when it was cold. also the rear windows would intermittently stop working. the rear door would not lock/unlock at times as well. just a poor quality car imo but at the same time the 2012 my mother had was absolutely perfect lasted her forever. it seems like when toyota tried keeping up with the times in the 2013 and up vehicles the quality went down majorly. but all new vehicles suck now a days so pretty much pick your poison lol
The 1.6 Sigma is the 1.6 Duratec. It goes like stink with a turbo, or a supercharger on it. The 1.6 has been the engine used in WRC (By M-Sport, and many amateurs alike. Most have preferred the Fiesta however, in later years. The Fiesta took the title in 2017, with the 1.6)
If I see a single one of you clowns defending the 3.8 essex dog 💩 v6 I swear to god. No matter how many parts you throw at it it will always make sure something breaks I don't care.

Yes they're great! I feel funny about the wet oil pump belts on the latest gen thats about it
I've gotta F350 with the 5.4 3v with 190k and while it's runnin and driving fine it's not without it's taps and knocks

Oh yeah, the vulcans! Great engines! And good to know about the water pump. Thanks!
thoughts on the 2.5L hybrid engine on the ford mavericks?
I haven't seen any issues with those

Let me double check my video. The 2.0 duratec is indeed timing chain driven. The 2.0 Zetec is timing belt driven
Hello, You missed the 2.5 duratech in the escape and fusions. great engines as well.
@dustin4018 oh yeah! Very good engines 👍

Mine is 1.6L gas mk3 focus, same reliability as 2.0 duratec?
Those are pretty good engines as well!
Yes.

@@DetroitMicroSound my 1.6 is a non turbo version, but thank you for this information
It'll go and go and go, naturally aspirated.@@jasonantonio7906
2.0 eco boost ?
Coolant intrusion
Yup! I've seen it happen a lot more on the 1.5
