As it might seem simple, I made sure to look up how to attach it anyhow. So I came across this video which explains perfectly on how to do it. Great tip on how to keep pressure on the attachment. Thanks for the video.

I'm just about to do this to my ski helmet. I would do front and centre but I still want to be able to get my goggles up quickly. Does your camera get in the way of your goggles where you mounted it?
Thank you for including the 3M printed instructions. Considering only helmets, they come with glossy and matte finishes, is there any difference in bond strength on these two types?
Any work-around for mounting to a helmet that has a central 'crease' down it? Both my cycling and climbing helmets have just such a seam and it prevents central mounting of the camera.
I lost my gopro hero3+ black that was brand new at the time because i didnt properly wipe my helmet, was a shame :/ . I have learned though and now have them sticking properly!
I noticed gopros are heavy, especially with the waterproof casing... I have to have mine on top of the helmet. If it's on the front, the weight is very noticeable and it pulls the helmet forward on my head.
All these haters just talking shit in the comments. How about thanking him for making this video? I'm about to mount a 250$ device to a helmet and I'm trusting it'll hold. Be appreciative mfers. Damn. Thanks for the video
Since I am going to be applying my adhesive to a helmet that I am hiring, I am going to be doing this abroad. I have 2 questions, 1 will nail polish remover work well enough instead of the alcohol, and 2 what is the best way to remove them as I don't want to return the helmet with something attach to it? Thanks
if anyone still reads the comments, seths bike channel shows you to warm up or melt the 3m and it will never separate from the helmet. good luck getting it off
I'm going to buy the adhesive mounts, but instead of applying them to a helmet, I'm going to apply the flat surface adhesive to the holister case that comes with a otter box defender case, and while using the GoPro capture app, attach it to the back of my phone, and use it as a more traditional camera. The best part is that the actual mount is so small, when the GoPro isn't mounted it's not that noticeable or out of place, and it's so quick to switch from mounted to not mounted.
Hey ! great video. Maybe you can help. How would I add the Anti-vibration Locking Plug to a helmet mount with that curved extended part in the way? Any ideas?
Thank you for such a great video i ride a motorcycle capable of 70+mph, I as maybe may other bikers would like to know, with the sticky pad is it sufficient enough to withstand high wind, rain and high speed Many thanks in advance pianoplayer1600
I had bought a different helmet on Amazon at the beginning of this summer for my big headed daughter to wear while bicycling and scootering. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0ipcYkXV-2YCp_cBN3HLfzR_OoD0HQYx Well it was WAY too big and not adjustable at all. Previously we had really expensive but adjustable helmets from the local bike store and I didn't really want to pay $50 again for another helmet. I searched and was fairly sure from the reviews that this helmet was what I was looking for- and it was! The pads inside are comfortable, the rim in front provides a bit of shade, but most of all for me there is the dial adjuster in the back which allows for a really secure fit on my daughters head. It seems like it will fit for a few years too which makes me even happier! She loves the pattern and I might end up buying another one for her twin sister (who has a much smaller head!)I definitely recommend this helmet. My daughter is 5 but has a big head. Her twin sister could fit in this one as well but it's a bit big.
Yes, as it clears out most of the surface and quickly evaporates afterwards leaving a pretty clean surface. If you attach to a dirty surface (even if it doesn't look dirty) it will partially stick to the dirt, making the bond between the adhesive and the surface very weak.
A clear, succinct how-to video. I may have to attach my first GoPro sticky mount in the near future. So this was timely for me.

You can also heat it up until it's bubbling and then apply it.
sounds like ive come across the best option so far
I got the trick from Seth's Bike Hacks.

Except the GoPro lens is not in the centre of the camera anyway so you need to adjust it in post regardless.....
unless it is a gopro session
yeah dont do that
Seeing your video in 2020 ... Good work nicely explained
I put mine on my dirty helmet and worked perfectly
perhaps not for long lol
I am about to put three mounts on my fiances and I's helmets... this video helped a bunch
Jerry
another method would be to gently heat the adhesive up with a lighter before sticking it to the surface.
great video, working for 2021!
72 hours! I wanted to use it today

very well demonstrated and narrated. thanks.

I'm gonna try this next week thanks.
Hey, helpful video, but I have a question.
Can I use tea-tree oil instead of isopropyl alcohol to clean the surface, will it work the same?
Dávid Nagy no
where do you ski at night? amazing... in my country they close at 4 pm
If I do downhill would u recommend this mount or the strap one?

I used the alcohol and water mixture on my black smith snowboard helmet and it managed to fade the black....Howd that not happen on yours?
Clean, easy, nice and straight to the point! +1 Suscriber. Greetings from Mexico.
I like how you have a very short name :)
+TheDakrax actually it's kind of funny, here in Mexico we call it " nombres de Telenovelas" my grandpa name was Roberto and my dad's name is Alejandro

Annabel Reid i Heard with a Hair dryer is good for that
Hey! These is a great video you just help me solved my problem!!! Thanks so much also I subscribed and liked!!
David Bejerano I was so happy I did the same exact thing!

new to the game, when mounting to helmet what or how do you start and stop recording ?
Use the app
Would leave a like if there was links to what I needed
Are there any temporary mounts for 1 day shoots you can suggest?

Was the weight of the camera annoying when mounted on the front of the helmet?
lol, I just smacked mine on my dirty helmet and used it the same day and it’s worked so far
Is it still on?
yeah there's no reason to wait literal days. Alcohol, dry, stick, pressure for a few minutes and go...
I got two stick mounts and they dont have the other parts?
Is there a non-adhesive alternative, for attaching to higher-grade professional helmets, eg mountaineering or motorbike helmets?
Super helpful

There u go I found it because I needed it too
a good alternative to the alcohol mix is a window cleaner. should do the job just the same and not leave any marks if people are experiencing that!
Do you have to rub the surface with alchohol because I don't have any.
thank you dude!
What size are those c clamps?
What chance the whole thing falling off when you wipe out?
Thanks for the quick and effective video! Subbed!

And whats with the white rubber antivibration thing? What do I do with that?
SiNeDLP its for the connection, so it doesnt UNdo while mounted
just lost my hero 7 to this mount gonna use this tip for sure
damn man that sucks. they aren't cheap.
Meet Kaden use a tether
What is the buckle and anti-vibration plug for?
stops it from breaking off and losing it and stabilisation
I just cleaned the helmet with water and then stuck the mount. Been 4 months still stuck there
Damn, I don't have the 24 hours they require. Do you guys think it will come off if it's there for like... 8 hours.
Why do you not make anymore videos
Nice!
Me: *just sticks mount on the helmet*
This guy: *cleans, prepares, uses full on clamps*
Me: “Oh sh-
Thanks bro!
What about heating it
can you take it off agen and put on a nother place?
Adhesives generally don't work like that. I would say it's permanent, otherwise taking it off will damage the adhesive and make it useless
I can’t get the red back off
Kudos to actually check 3M
As soon as I heard a dad joke I clicked like
You didn’t mount a GoPro at the end../ I still don’t see how it works
tnx
Put it in the wrong place, used lighter to try and soften the adheasive but made a hole in my snowboard hepmet
you're smart
@@BraidedButthair thanks
@@charlieskarts1934 Why not a hair dryer or something?

ento. can you use methylated spirits?
will just water work?
I'm sure you can find awesome woodworking plans on Stodoys website
Bruh u really don't need all that stuff making it so complicated
