If it makes any of these women feel better, when I was 19, a Moroccan man named Zuhair was living in my home city in the US asked me out on a date (we worked at the same restaurant) and two weeks later, he told me he loved me and wanted me to marry him. He was good looking but I knew nothing about him. Smelling a scheme, I said no and he dumped me. Six months later, he was married to my co-worker; they stay married two years almost to the day when he bolted - he'd stayed long enough to have US residency. His older brother Rachid had done the same thing. This was 30 years ago! This scam is as old as the hills.

I do feel some empathy for these women.
When I met my partner 17 years ago, I was a 30 year old newly single mother after a breakdown of my 14 year marriage. My partner was at the time 19, turning 20 so there is a 10 year age gap. He was french and incredibly good looking. I had my daughter at 28 and, what no one could have known, was I would suffer from the effects of gestational back pain ever since.
We dated for a year before I introduced him to my daughter, whose own father barely sees her more than a few hours a year. And we have been happy together ever since. I am in a lot of pain and that has affected my life because im not able to be as active as I once was, let alone the psychological effects of constant chronic pain.
And he is just the most incredible person...he has stuck by me through everything and always shows how much he loves me. And he has been the BEST father to our daughter...He's been her dad since she was 3. Sometimes, these guys are genuine!

To those who feel lonely, get out into the community; garden clubs, photography clubs, cooking clubs, book clubs, volunteer, etc. If you have a passion or interest in any of these, you'll find like-minded or equally passionate people out there who share your interest. The least that can happen is you'll make new friends, and who knows perhaps develop a deeper relationship with someone in your own community.

I tried to warn a friend about a guy but she would not believe me. She thought it was love between a 22 year old and her at 60.
In the end she lost her savings and her house. The boyfriend meanwhile lives in a «palace» in Gambia with his Gambian wife.
That's just plain dumb! 🤪

I think ALL women could fall for this kind of scam if they're not prepared or if they're not shielded from their own self love. We should never allow ourselves to become that lonely.

When i was actively dating i met a guy at a bar that i hsd met online. His furst words were im a little short of cash right now. I bought us each a beer, excused myself to go to the bathroom, left and never looked back. Never, ever give a man money when you first meet.
These females were not used, they basically bought those men for a limited time. Males had bigger ambition.
I had a couple men try the same thing to me but knew right away they were trying to leave their country and come over to attempt to gain citizenship. The tip off should be how anxious they are to get married before you hardly know them. Also such an age difference and they always say it doesn't matter. Hey if it looks fishy and too good to be true it usually is.
This happens all the time! The key to avoiding these types of situations is to not be so desperate! I feel for these women, but they were clearly very delusional!
I've had this experience in America. Men who come on very strong, talk very sweet, nice dates. They introduce you to friends and family quickly. They talk about marriage in such a romantic way. So many offered me thousands of dollars. I never fell for any of it! Many use dating apps to get the women. Many are already married in their country.
The age difference matters.
It requires self deceit to even believe it doesn't.

I feel ashamed for those desperate women. These African vacation love affairs are so badly notorious, yet there are still delusional women who fall for this obvious scam.
Happens everywhere, people have to be self aware. Military installations are infamous for this. Traveled the world if you are going to have a fling, do it. Don't bring it home. You are an adult.
They said it was 2005, 2009. TH-cam wasn't even in existence in 2005 so only now they can know better.

I know I do and thats the way it stayed - a fantasy. In fact... sigh... ok... if Id had the money I would've married him except, God blessed me to be broke. And I do look like JLi / Halle Berry ! Another fantasy 🤣 but for a while I felt beautiful. One may think these women foolish but as humans we are wired this way and it feels so real to our psyches....
Those women aren’t victims, they’re predators. Notice how they never fall in love with foreign men their own age & always a foreign young man from a poor country. They’re creepy secs tourists.

My dad did this to my mom in the UK. He married her, had kids, got citizenship then abandoned us. He was actually already secretly married to someone back home. The diffrence is that my parents are both Africans. And this was actually my moms second marriage, she also got citizenship from another previous marriage in the UK.💀

I guess she is trying to have Gov change the law somehow to extend time for getting citizenship..so its not that fast and may deter scammers and protect victims

the thing is it wasn't 'marriage fraud', they willingly and consensually entered into those arrangements. The issue is that either they felt obliged to go ahead when they weren't ready, but that is their judgment call still not 'fraud' and/or hadn't taken enough time to actually understand who they were with, get to know them and their culture and the men's expectations - they were not 'western' with all that comes with it but from cultures that (possibly) don't respect/treat women as equals or the same as in the UK.
