    Howdy! Just wanted to point out the few "information bubbles" in the video with good advice and that the paint coming off of the air cleaner housing was pretty normal for this old of an engine... In a future video I'll show how to do a quick scuff and repaint on parts like that! If you have a lot of aluminum parts on your engine skip the Super Clean and go with Gunk engine cleaner. If you let the Super Clean dry on aluminum, it will require polishing to get back the shine.

    Your videos are so nostalgic for me lol. I found you when I was in my Jeep craze and got a TJ my senior year of high school. Life was so fun back then learning so much about the offroad Jeep world through you. Now I’m trying to figure out my career after college. I just wanted to let you know Jason through this stress, this video brought me back to that time in HS offroading with my friends and the fun craziness that was my senior year! Thank you so much. I really needed the smile!

    I do the same thing with using Super Clean and soft brush then using a pressure washer at distance to rinse and if there are any stubborn areas then hit it harder with the pressure washer. But for the protection of the plastics and everything in the engine bay I use a spray bottle of UV 303 Protectant, it is water based so no oils in it where dirt sticks to it and it hydrates plastics and rubbers, it is also really good on keeping your belts lasting longer and prevents them from cracking and drying out. I spay it all over the engine bay and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and use an air gun to blow it off of things and in areas then just use a microfiber cloth to wipe the top of covers and things. 303 protectant is awesome stuff and you can get it at O'Reilly's, Autozone, WalliWorld (Wal-Mart) and Amazon. Try it out

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great suggestion... I've used the 303 in the past and liked it. Am I remembering correctly that it's fairly expensive... not sure why I switched back to WD40 years ago and now found the Tool Box Buddy. I like re-learning all kinds of recommendations here!

    • @tysoncurrie7745
      @tysoncurrie7745 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AutoEdits it's around 12 bucks for a spay bottle on Amazon right now and same at Walmart, it last a couple of times on detailing your engine bay, being that if you detail your engine bay a few times a year it's not to bad on price. I use to detail vehicles for a used car dealership, did it for 5 years and love using 303, and you don't have to worry about it getting on the belt because it actually helps the belt stay hydrated and helps it not slip. It's good stuff. Depending on where you buy it depends on how expensive it can be.
