    I had an allergic reaction and it broke out my face. Used hydrocortisone once a day for 3 days & it went away completely and actually made my skin smoother than ever. Was tempted to use it everyday but I glad I came across this video before I started doing that.

      Yes the weaker strength corticosteroids prescribed for facial use OK as long as not used long term/regularly, only when really needed, for short infrequent use.

      I’ve used it EVERYDAY for about 15 years now… I call it my Movie Star lotion lol but I got a severe sunburn to my face and without it- my face gets so red and dry and will actually bleed about a week or two into with no use… it’s horrible I’ve had to explain my situation a MILLION TIMES plus some… and it’ll confuse people that haven’t seen me that way before bc WITH the lotion my face looks normal.. WITHOUT it - I do NOT go in public.. it’s a literal LIFE changer .. for me

      Talk to your derm. There are prescription alternatives such as elidel (pimecrolimus 1%), protopic (tacrolimus 0.1%), eucrisa (crisaborole 2%). I’ve switched & initially it was a challenge as these ointments burned mildly but my facial skin adjusted & I rarely use steroids anymore, maybe one or twice a year. These other alternatives keep it under control along with skin care products for sensitive skin.

      @@AudreyLCDHello, I am struggling with the exact same problem. My dermatologist prescribed Elidel, all of the Protopic versions and even Advantan. While Advantan (including a bit of cortisone) helped for a few hours, the rest didn’t. My face is still red after 10 months and it seems to be eczema that came from a chemical burn from skincare.
      Do you maybe have any other recommendations that I can try? Or did Eucrisa help you more than the other creams? Haven’t used that one yet.
      Thanks for your help!!🙏

      Well, i was first instructed to use it for two weeks. It slightly improved my skin momentarily, but then when I stopped using it came back. I was then given a stronger steroid gel called Eumovate. I was instructed to use this for a week whenever my skin got really bad. It would improve my skin, but the redness, bumps and soreness would come back with full force after a few days of discontinuing use. I started to slowly realise that my skin was becoming worse with it. I brought this up with a different doctor who after inspecting my skin diagnosed me with rosacea and put me on oral antibiotics.

      it's the same for me the doctor say use hydrocortisone 1% for 7 days once a day and in between use moisturiser many times but after returning i got referred to a skin specialist and they recommended eumovate ointment for 7 to 10 days and it gets skin back to smoothe but redness still there and i seem to have millia appear out of nowhere now. it's very trial and error for what works. but recently a friend recommended hyromol ointment for where all other options failed, i'm just trying this out now. it's a nightmare experience as you could be there for months before you find something that works for you.

I’ve had psoriasis my whole life, LAST time I went to dermo, she laughed me out of her office and said come back when you have more than 15% of your body covered- her patients are more like 85% covered… I got a HORRIBLE sunburn, entire upper body, I could squeeze liquid pus out of my face.. I get home from vacation, take a shower- here’s the exact point I messed up, it was like a new layer of skin on my body… went a few years with 0 treatments.. but my face was so dried out and would crack and bleed until my FAMILY doctor gave me the hydrocortisone 2.5% - it’s my movie star lotion lol- without it people don’t recognize me bc it gets so bad … I have to explain it EVERYWHERE I go, bc people aren’t used to seeing my face like that…. but WITH the lotion- nobody would ever know

      How long did you use it on your face ?
      I’ve used a steroid cream on my cheeks because of redness and irritation caused by a moisturizer and by plucking hairs on my cheeks while they were irritated. Now I’m worried that it has thinned out my skin 😔 my upper cheeks feel extremely tight and uncomfortable. I can’t even smile or laugh without feeling pain and discomfort there.
      Have you experienced similar side effects from using it on your face ?

    • @gemmarium4337
      @gemmarium4337 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Dan24. I used the cream for a few months before I stopped and then developed the perioral dermatitis. In general, you should never use steroid creams on the face. Dermatologists don’t prescribe them for the face because of the very high risk of developing P.D. If you have inflammation on the face you should see a dermatologist so they can prescribe you non-steroid creams to help with it. I would advise you to stop using steroid creams and see a dermatologist.
