Imagine if there’s proximity chat, unlocking a walkie talkie and it gets harder to hear your friend the deeper you go. Compared to the person at the base which has a big radius to hear everyone, then silence, from which you don’t know your friend’s fate, to go down with them or swim back.
"You are a pioneer traveling to a distant world, but something is amiss. The ship's AI insists you carry on the mission." I'm so hyped about this. Finally they understood the charm of the PDA lady from the first part. I hope it evolves into something like ADA from satisfactory. So far the plot description looks promising.

For the co-op there is only one thing I hope they add in the game. Proximity chat, with a radio upgrade that can go static in some areas, or when one of the friends dies. because imagine loosing your friend while at the bottom of the ocean
All I want for multiplayer is some sort of personal vehicle lock if that makes sense. It's already scary enough with forgetting where your seamoth is when you have 30 seconds, imagine your freind driving off leaving you alone with that Squid Leviathan from the trailers
@quechato-vn9vy ooh yeah like being able to get IN the vehicle for oxygen, but you can't move it unless you have the key or ownership over it or what have you. Thats a nice balance
I looked at the Unknown Worlds website and it says in a February article: “The game is not multiplayer-focused. Coop will be an entirely optional way to play.” Based on the way this is phrased, I don’t think we have to worry about it being mainly multiplayer.
This sounds really minor, but I would hope they include intense weather situations and accompanying physics. For example, go back to 2:20 and watch the Aurora blowing up. While this isn't technically a weather event, the explosion produces a wave in the trailer. Obviously this isn't the case in the game, but it would be cool if there were hurricanes, typhoons, whirlpools, etc which impede or disrupt your survival/structures and they add build mechanics to fortify against. I also think it would be cool if they added a "surfing" option for above the water travel as well. I can only hope we get things like this, but they are already adding so much to the game probably.
I think Subnautica 2 needs actual threatening leviathans. Subnautica 1 did this pretty well, but BZ Leviathans (while cool looking) are not threatening in the slightest.
* Different kinds of vehicles for different kinds of tasks (smaller faster ones, and bigger, armored, slower ones) * More secrets not necessarily crucial to the plot. * More shipwrecks, ruins, bunkers, equipment, etc., to explore. * Minor above-ground gameplay (BZ was too much). * Above ground areas: scattered smaller islands. * Currents, some very hot or very cold, depending on biome. * More growables, under water and above ground. * More posters. Something I'd like from Subnautica 2 is a hard mode. Subnautica 1 got easier as it went on. The early game was a decent challenge but it got significantly easier as you progressed, especially once you got the Prawn Suit. It would be great if there was a up and down flow of difficulty as you progress through each phase of the game.
Yeah a hard mode that isn’t just “permanent death”, but adds other challenges. I know there is a mod for Subnautica that makes it CRAZY difficult, which things like nitrogen build up in body. I don’t think they need to go that extreme but they can definitely take inspiration from it
The best open world games are ones that give you a vehicle in which to cross a vast nothing with scattered points of interest in the middle and around the edges. What Skyrim, Fallout4, and almost every other open world did wrong was refusing to give you a vehicle. Also fast travel should be replaced by faster ways of travelling. Teleporting to previously visited map markers means that after the first few minutes you stop experiencing the open world and start resenting new points of interest.
To be honest even if its a new planet, i'd love to see some of the old subs come back. Imagine using cyclop the way its INTENDED to, with a 3 man crew. Though adding newer subs would be rather refreshing
I'd like the cyclops and seatruck to both come back along with a new sub of some kind, maybe even the Atlas. I far preferred the mobile base ability of the cyclops, but the utility of swappable modules for the seatruck was nice too. Having a choice, especially for people that might prefer one or the other would be best imo
One thing I hope they add is making the characters customizable (like skin color and hair color and hair style), so me and my friends can make us look more like well us while we play the game so we feel even more like we ARE the characters, dunno if they already said there will be character customization, haven't been reading much on Subnautica 2 I'll be honest, just the basic stuff
For those who don't know they also have a team that's working specifically in the "base building" feature only, so it's going to be good (hopefully, if not early access will "fix" it).
I hope people are a bit gentle on the team as the game is launching in early access after all. As long as the foundations are solid, they can fix performance and optimization as the game developments continues after launch!
You can scratch point 2 since they confirmed it a looong time ago that the game is going to be a Single player experience first and multiplayer is only an extra.
Looks great! And considering how the game will have co-op, the developers should really consider giving the players a character customization option so that we can create the look of the characters. I also hope the bring back the Cyclops and Seamoth. The Subnautica 2 World should also much larger and deeper that Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero - Combined. For technology, I think they could introduce the liquid breathing technology that has been researched for the past couple of decades.
Yeah, the Single-Multiplayer experience is the toughest thing to tag to Subnautica 2. If possible, no dialogue at all. Character customization is a meh if they plan on going that route. Hopefully, it does well. One thing I hope they do get right is also the gene editing. There is a plethora of routes to take in that direction. Especially if you can take DNA sequences from Leviathans that can make interactions unique. More structures is also nice to hear. And, of course, the ever-so-asked-for, Proximity Chat. As far as something I'd want. Ngl, most of what Subnautica 2 promises/features is pretty great. Maybe in Subnautica 3 or some other spin-off, I'd like to see a more darker experience with ACTUAL military grade equipment, hostile fauna, and instead of starting at the surface and making your way down, you start in the deepest parts of the ocean and survive your way up. I mean, it would be a good twist, plus I'd like to see the bite that Alterra and corporations like them have face against the terrors of the deep abyss. Granted, at that point, there really wouldn't be much more for the franchise to go. But, it's better to have an end than to see a game be kept on life support and lose touch.
I wonder if they will let you customize the characters or have 4 premade characters to chose from Honestly that’s a pretty fun idea! Imagine starting at the core of the planet and having to fight your way out and escape. Sounds like a fun spin off mode
@@Primacon Could be multiple premade characters? Custom character creation is another route, but I don't think that will be the case. Probably due to it being easier to just select from a few character models than having the game render in all the character aspects of a custom. Plus, if gene editing is self-applicable and displays physical alterations on the model, the premades could handle it better. And, yeah, I'm curious about humanity's military. I think it would be great to see what kind of military force allows for a space-faring society to thrive in worlds that, likely, foster hostile ecologies. And what better way to test it than to have them start out at the very deepest chasm of an ocean littered with Leviathans. It's exciting, but, again, at that point the story would likely come to a close as the switch will be made and the book closes. At that point, Subnautica would be over, as this would be the final point that the tone would turn from a sandbox-story-survival to a Shooter-Sandbox-Story. So, best keep this until Subnautica wants to end.
I get why a lot of people don’t like Below Zero, personally I rlly enjoy characters that talk and we’re more of an observer to their story. Yet, it’s very obvious that it just doesn’t capture that same vibe from the og Subnautica game that gave you a real sense of dread and isolation. I’m very excited for the second game, while I am a bit disappointed that we’re going to a different planet since I feel they could do more with 4546B and the Architects, I am always happy to see more alien sea creatures. Also, HEAVILY appreciate you talking about the main issues people have with Below Zero while not completely shitting on the game.
Yeah of course! Personally below zero isn’t for me but that’s not necessarily because it’s bad or anything, but it’s just different then what I look for in Subnautica! I’m glad it exists for the people who like it. It also has a banger OST
I know it has nothing to do with Subnautica 2 and im also hyped on that game. But Silksong is now also listed on Steam Key sites to buy it but with no price, if i recall correctly it was not there before. So it might acutally come out "soon" xD
i'd be fine if voiced protagonist was more serious and less yap fr. i think it'd also be cool if they're was death screams when your dying in a death animation

i loved how you talked about the multiplayer aspect i also agree that the game shouldn't focus on multiplayer rather than single player it should go both ways, like the example you said "cuphead"
i just hope we got giant submarine and super big and DEEP but i mean deep like 5+Kilometer each kilometer you go deeper the hardest it is, better sub you need, more ressource and energy, i dont mind the biomes being 3-4 times bigger than the first game even if we get barren zone in certain zone or in the middle of certain biomes that can act as shortcut but are dangerous because of leviathans. i would like to see some sort of Ai in creature that wander in largers area instead of having small zones where the same creatures always spawns
I'd be down with a voice protagonist if it wasn't focused on yapping and is more serious. like having voicelines that play when it would make sense like your character panicking and breathing heavily when he sees a levithan. it'd be cool too if there was actual death screams when your dying in a death animation
Think it being on a different planet is stupid. Most of the creatures in the trailer besides one barely look any different from what you see on planet 4546B.
What would make Subnautica 2 amazing would be the map deeper and the creatures bigger, that was why (in my opinion) below zero sucked, the first game felt alone and more open
Personally I agree with you. But it’s a complain I’ve heard from a lot of people. I think it gets boring for people as upgrades and structures start to lose their value. I liked what they did with below zero, having a portable item scanner
Yeah biggest lie about "co-op" is optional is in valheim and similiar games, and my favorite to hate, fallout 76. in survival everything just take 4-10 times longer. But in F76... whole game economy and mechanics are balance on fact that its multiplayer. And even if you play solo, world is still expecting other players to take part in GROUP EVENTS, WORLD BOSSES, other timed shit and stuff.
Exactly my point. Although I’m hearing for people now that the devs of Subnautica actually addressed this and said they are making the game around single player first. And multiplayer is just an add on. I hope they stick to that !
I feel like they could do something like the Nexus from no Man's sky so you can come back or like expeditions what's something like that what are the continued story like every week just like bonus story that allows you to get like deeper into the lore
ligit you just explained all of my preferences XD. being a hardcore subnautica fan, im hoping they do i right. i have ben waiting for subnatica 2 for years and if they make the same mistakes as bz i prob gonna be upset.
Hearing subnautica 2 just depresses me now, most interesting games are just not as interesting anymore, well atleast the new ones, and just reminds me of how lonely i am
I really hope they bring back the original pda, the subzero pda doesn't seem robotic and like an ai, it feels condescending and makes some political remarks
It would devolve to a shooter then. Part of why it was so good was that you never quite got an equalizer for the more dangerous creatures and they stayed a threat
They need to bring back Cheats. In the firstone if you were in the Menu and pressed L3+R3 you got alot of cheats wich was nice to have if you wanna mess around abit.
@@BowlOfStainlessSoup i mean... yeah. At this point you can get an Xbox series s for like $200. That's not that much for something that could possibly give you thousands of hours of entertainment. Also, I don't want to bring up any console wars stuff, but there are plenty of Playstation exclusives I wish I could play too, so I get it
#1 thing NOT to fuck up: NO FORCED MULTIPLAYER. i Will skip Subnautica 2 if i cant solo play. idc if they want to INCLUDE multiplayer as an OPTION. Dont make it online multiplayer only. that is just shitting on all the people who loved the 1st game for the VERY reason that being alone on an alien planet was the POINT. people didnt like belowzero because it took the horror factor away... having twits babble in your ear is GOING to RUIN the immersion... which is what subnautical is all about. my enthusiasm for this game dropped significantly when i saw the other person seamoth up to player in the trailer. Fuck everything needing Multiplayer. Theyre going to ruin Hogwarts Legacy 2 with that shit as well. So Disappointing. avoid that- make multiplayer an option not the focal point.
@@Light......... I can see where you’re coming from, your comment just sounds like a hate comment. Whether you hate Subnautica or not though, I guess there are some things they could get wrong with this game, but I’m not gonna be the one to tell if that’s true considering I like below zero and people despise that game so uh. You do you man
@@michaelpizzasready7063 Below Zero was a good game, but was it on par with the masterpiece before it. No. That is my point. Below Zero was a good game. But because it was not as good as Subnautica, it gained a bad reputation. Now if Subnautica 2 is just “good” then it immediately gonna be downgraded to garbage just because it wasn’t as good as Subnautica. This game is a gamble. If it a masterpiece just like the first game, it will be accepted. If it just good, it gonna be garbage.
@@michaelpizzasready7063 I will also admit on my first reply I did kinda rush it saying it sucked, but so many sequels have put a negative taste on the original, and I really don’t want Subnautica to be another case of this.

it made a comeback when it was still popular
Tbh it might be harder to play in solo that in co.op. Since they will probably(if done right). Make the map much bigger
Think it being on a different planet is stupid.
Most of the creatures in the trailer besides one barely look any different from what you see on planet 4546B.
Procedural terrain generation could be good for replay value
The real thing it needs to get right is leave early access before silksong
I need a Cyclops like vesul in this game!!!!
Better not give us some ass vehicle like the seatruck was in BZ
It realy needs to get the lonlyless right with the multiplayer
Devil uppers💯🔥🔥
What would make Subnautica 2 amazing would be the map deeper and the creatures bigger, that was why (in my opinion) below zero sucked, the first game felt alone and more open
I think it needs water
I still wanna ride my reaper leviathan. 😔🤚
"resource farming is boring" it's not.
Its not that multi is standard and solo is an option. Its the other way around
5:48 no pun intended
It needs to have the size and depth of play of the original.
ligit you just explained all of my preferences XD. being a hardcore subnautica fan, im hoping they do i right. i have ben waiting for subnatica 2 for years and if they make the same mistakes as bz i prob gonna be upset.
Am I the only one who wanted the reaper to come back
Hearing subnautica 2 just depresses me now, most interesting games are just not as interesting anymore, well atleast the new ones, and just reminds me of how lonely i am
I really hope they bring back the original pda, the subzero pda doesn't seem robotic and like an ai, it feels condescending and makes some political remarks
Terraforming should not be added
I wish you could hack the fabricator to make guns, because killing the kraken thing from the trailer won’t happen with a hot knife.
You're not supposed to kill stuff in the game, you're supposed to avoid them
It would devolve to a shooter then. Part of why it was so good was that you never quite got an equalizer for the more dangerous creatures and they stayed a threat
They need to bring back Cheats. In the firstone if you were in the Menu and pressed L3+R3 you got alot of cheats wich was nice to have if you wanna mess around abit.
9:46 why are you showing footage of a very old version of drg?
It needs the original PA voice not the goofy Indian sounding one from below zero
Hey so obviously a PDA that is in-universe made by a different company is going to sound different than a PDA made by Alterra
sadly it wont be better than the original nothing beats nostalgia
Oh my GOD can you shut up man
Very sad that subanutica isnt in PlayStation 4-5
Yeah, that sucks. At least it's on PC and Xbox though, so there's other options
@raider360X_sot I dont have a PC & a xbox
@@ilcapybarasupremo then buy one
Why the hell should I buy subnautica from this platform when everyone else sells it cheaper?!
My pc is NOT gonna be able to run this game.
yo do you have any idea whats going on in reddit ? all of them pretending like the game is already out and some said it will release on november 1st
I do know what's going on with reddit. Reddits full of emotional idiots with nothing better to do.
Early access releases in Q2 of 2025.

Honestly I can see this game being garbage.
Ok bro
@@michaelpizzasready7063 Just wait till it actually is.
