A Solid 10 Minutes of Useless Subnautica Information

- I've played Subnautica for over 2 and a half years, and I've learned many useful things. However, I've also learned some things that might be considered...less than useful. Lets take a look at those shall we :)

From what I know the ones without a glow are the stalker, reaper, and one other I can’t remember. Maybe it was the cuttlefish, it’s been a long time since I checked.

they are the stalker, the lava lizard (when it doesn't have lava on it), and the reaper (although they had glowing eyes in early versions)
also fun fact, most bioluminescent things don't illuminate their surroundings much if at all but a significant exception is the rockgrub (do creepvine seeds do it too? I'm not quite sure)
You forgot: if you try to recharge your cyclops at a natural thermal vent, the smoke and steam will pass through the sub.
If you are the cyclops in creep vine, the same thing happens

I love that he’s not explaining some of the facts like the differential lock and the aurora particles but instead just makes us aware of them

Why the information in this video is in fact not useless:
1. This Can help you align things on walls to the centre
2. You can use the heights of base pieces and compare with the height of the aurora tip to get a base all the way to the top
3. If you see this animation, you know it's far away
4. Yeah that's useless
5. Also useless
6. You can use this information to crush the souls of your friends who play subnautica, so every time they open this menu, they are forced to acknowledge that minor imperfection.
7. World building ig
8. Storage for copper
9. You now know that you can see the ghost leviathan. (Watch out for reapers and stalkers)
10. Decoration...?
11. Further encourages companionship with cutefish
12. Use these to leave a trail which will not fall under the map when you unload the ground.

14. Yeah pretty useless

20. Good warning for what was to come when players destroy their cyclops due to depth. Shame nobody paid attention to that blatant foreshadowing.

24. Deterrent for phasing through glass.
25. That's simply cool.
26. That's obvious why it's useful.
27. Watch this to know what NOT to do upon starting a world.
28. This draws the eye towards the cube.
29. Allows for a very lucky speedrun. So if eventually, subnautica speedruns are perfected, speedrunners will have to get that 1 in 2 million to create a new record.
30. Good for confusing people trying to spawn in uraninite who do not realise that it's not uranium.
31. Deepest solar panel spot for if you want really inefficient power.
32. Yeah I have no use for this information.
33. Good for saving money on voice actors.
34. Good to know if you ever plan on attempting to bring a seamoth to the lava zone or if a seadragon glitches inside the PCF
35. Reference point for clipping out of bounds.
36. Allows people to pretend they're playing a retro game.
37. How to hide your HUD.
38. IRL Marketing.
39. Identifies a song that may be stuck in a person's head that is slowly driving them insane like a person who's trying to find niche uses for useless information, regretting their choice to do this but too far in to stop.
40. Decoration.
41. If you really like the car, now you know what to get irl.
42. Good for driving people insane.
43. Yeah I can't find a use for that.
44. Yes that is what is know as "perspective".
45. A funny screenshot when clipping out of bounds.
46. Great for making you look like a madman.
47. That is actually very useful for how to fix glitches like that.
And that's 47 uses for useless information, which I am writing at 3 am instead of sleeping. Why did I do this? I don't know.

I just had a dream that humans conquered that planet, but the kerbals from kerbal space program defeated humans, murdered them all, destroyed the constructions and then constructed a massive base on the islands

Another cool fun fact: nearby the purple particles under the aurora, is a large hole inside the underside of the aurora. In older versions, this hole was not only accessible, but the hole would take you to the hole in the bottom of the generator room floor. So basically a new entrance that would bypass all the code locked doors on the other doors. (Although it sadly doesn't exist anymore 😢)

7:15 the reason why reefbacks sound like that when their audio is sped up is because their audio was made by recording multiple people yelling, and then slowing it down. the more you didn't need to know lol

You forgot that without cheats you can cause the game to stop rendering the walls of the Sea Emperor's chamber by swimming into one of the corners

3:00 In the early days of subnautica, the playermodel had no head, so you'd see a headless divesuited guy controlling the camera.
There used to be this bug where if you opened the PDA while the prawn is docking to the cyclops, it would force your inventory to be outside of the Cyclopes window like a big projector screen.

1:05 fun fact that's actually the default particles in unity so the devs probably added a particle system and forgot to remove it
10:16 if you slash with your knife and switch to a laser cutter, it actually makes the door cut faster. It becomes even faster when you use your repair tool before switching to the laser cutter. I'm not sure if it still works but i know it works on legacy patches of the game.
There used to be an actual sea dragon biting seamoth animation, but as it would normally be impossible for the two things to end up in the same area the devs removed the animation during development.

Acid mushrooms used to shrink when you got closer but it was draining on the game preformance therefore the feature to be removed

With the camera from thr scanner room you can enter your base from the moonpool. That's how I got a lot of selfies😂

wait you forgot smth: if you got to the front of the aurora and sit there with no vehicle for exactly 7 hours, you will most likely end up dead.
The Sea Emperor's waiting model looking like a patient puppy, is honestly everything for me.
3:21 Counter point: the sea dragons will go to the surface to lure reapers down into the lava zone, so the reapers more likely die to the heat than anything.
Still kinda strange situation. Sea dragon is not like leviathan and more like Goliath. And the David one is reaper😂

in 8:12 the animation with sea dragon biting seamoth looked better in older versions of the game. Or at least I remember it like that.

Basically they figured that since you would never get to see the Sea Dragon attack a seamoth in normal gameplay, they removed the animations.
Personally, I wishes they left it in as a bit of a Easter Egg.

apparently the devs tried to contact markiplier to collab on an easter egg, but he missed their messages because he was taking a hiatus and they stuck the doll in the game anyway. and he lost it when he finally noticed the thing

Adding onto what you said about the random biomes in the void, the explanation to this is simple. The map of biomes simply repeats over and over again. (Although I think that the extra biome maps in the void may be flipped in some way, because the dunes wouldn't be logically in the bottom right of the map.)
Another cool fact is that eventually the biome map completely breaks the further out you go. Eventually it just doesnt think you are in any biome, and the ghost leviathans stop spawning. This "true" void will continue endlessly until you get teleported back to the shallows.
I know a fun one.
If you dock a seamoth or prawn suit inside a cyclops, the display panel has unlimited reach, and you can look in the docked vehicles storage and upgrade modules at any range.
Ah, I’ve always wondered how to get to that patch of sand. Thanks.

when sea treaders are falling, they just stay in their model not moving until they hit the ground.
You can play with a cuddlefish in an alien containment to clip through it without swimming. Clicking the hatch makes you enter the alien containment

2:50 you can actually enter the habitat with the camera, as long as you have a moonpool. Simply pilot the camera into the moonpool and you can literally float inside and watch yourself.
