it does have programming features you need either theyre program card or the b link. also i noticed you didnt even have the sensor cable connected which makes me think you really didnt use half the features the system has to offer
It does have punch control and even startup power. You can even use toque limiting which requires the speed controller to test the installed motor. It also has an auxiliary wire feature that would allow you to alter the drag brake via another channel during your race. Max power, max brake, torque control, rockrace/crawler, reverse lockout and percent are all adjustable via the aux wire tied to radio channel. Not to mention smartsense/sensored/sensorless operation and cheat mode which boost timing at a specific rpm to get more power out of a 2 pole motor. And this, at the latest, was all from October 2018. Some features are even older. Very tunable. It's almost as if you've never used castle link or b link and simply used the radio or field card to program the esc. ***edit: actually the field link does have punch control and cheat mode, it's just not as fine tunable as the phone or computer application.

What’s the difference between the esc with the RED X and the CHROMB X?? What’s the MAX amp draw the esc can achieve? I’m always trying new products and the mamba monster X (chrome) I’ve pulled 120 amps with the 1717/1650kv on 6s… the spectrum 6s is rated 150amps and does it without getting too hot while the monster X (chrome) has gotten hotter but on my fastest longest runs today I ran out of logging time so I didn’t have the specs from today. I just want to know how many amps it can handle before heating up too quickly or protection cut.??
So what combo do you use for your race vehicle? I was thinking about getting this since i have the b link already and a 10th scale mamaba x. Most people i run with use hobbywing xr8. We run dirt oval though not offroad like you were doing?

To be real it’s not a racing setup. But that that’s not to say you can’t race it. I just don’t think it has enough programming features for my liking.
