Awesome video! Thanks for the detailed install. I’m semi new to the rc world and I’m planning to do the same with my Maxx. Would you have to have the video of your cable setup?
I'm glad you found the video to be helpful. I do not have the video of the cable management yet. But I'll get that video shot and uploaded for you before next week. Thank you for the comment.
The Mamba x comes with the Castle data log which has most of the info that the Traxxas telemetry has. So I put all that on my XMaxx until that bad boy gets upgraded. But as long as you keep the Traxxas TQi controller and receiver, you'll have all the gyro/traction control functions.
How’s it run, I want the same for my truggy esc and all, they say no 6s for some reason with the motor idk why tho it’s the same as all the other combos
Haven't had the chance to run it on 6s yet. The Maxx we are running it on is more of a jumping/bashing rig, so we are still running it on the 24t pinion and 50t spur. We haven't had any issues with heat on 4s and no motor fan. The esc would have no issues handling 6s, but the motor you'd probably want a fan or 2, not over gear it, not run it on too rough of a surface, and just keep an eye on temps.
What kind of cable adapters did you use to connect the motor to the esc? Are they 6.5mm female to 4mm male bullets? I just got into the Hobby, upgrading my Hoss to 4s. I'll be running the Maxx motor with the Mamba X esc.
It has been holding up without any issues. We even had it out at the motocross track on a day with a heat index of over 100F and no fan on the motor. With that being said, it's still running the 24t pinion and 50t spur, it's mainly used as a basher so a lot of quick runs up to jumps without long periods of sustained throttle, and we haven't purchased a single 6s pack so it's only been run on 4s.
Yes, the esc and motor can handle 6s, but depending on your gearing, what tires you're running, and what terrain you're running on, you'll want to keep a close eye on temps. Ideally to run the esc on 6s all the time you would probably want a lower kv motor.

really happy you mentioned wtf the white wire is on the esc

@@beardownandrc1064 awesome! Thanks
so what is the telemetry stuff you got rid of if you kept the tqi transmitter? im assuming that keeps the gyro too right?

Have you ran this combo on 6s
Just did this install on my maxx, switch everything on, and it will not calibrate, any suggestions? Led on the esc is blinking yellow and beeps twice
So how’s it running now? Do you have an update on the esc?
is the tqi compatible with the castle esc system? was hoping to keep all that when I switch over?
Yes, sir. The TQI is all in the receiver and controller.

4mm
What battery did you use ?
Right now we're only running it on a Traxxas 4s 5000 MAH.
@@beardownandrc1064 does the esc come with a connecter on it?
After 4 months how has the esc been holding up to the big motor and truck?

Do you have any issues on 4s with overheating? What motor did you run?
Castle said 6s is not recommended
I put that in my slash 4x4, its overkill lol.
