There is one big mistake most players make: Most people shoot their gun as fast as the gun can. This is problematic especially with scout rifles and hand canons. The right way to play is: Get sure the crosshair is on the target than shoot. Sounds obvious but most people don't do it. Most people pull the trigger as fast as the gun allows it. However it is a million times better to determine your fire rate by your aiming speed. Try and practice shooting very slowly but get sure to hit. As you are practicing build up more speed. But never get back to the mistake of shooting at the maximum rate because that will make you miss.
Steven Bustamento I've actually dropped down to 7 for a month of so and found my Kills improve, maybe i'm too jumpy to play with 10 plus I have vortex on. Dropping down to 5 when sniping definitely helps me a lot and I think with overall smarter play, I don't get flanked so much so it doesn't matter if i can't turn to the side as quick vs using 10. Good luck mate!
nobody is there to coach new to fps shooters at the moment and I've really been needing this information. thank you so much! im damn determined to be great
yea im the same way man.. i use 4 and turn vibration off. vibration also KILLS batterys on xbox one and i started on 2 which i did well on but with blink shotgun and being able to increase aiming and moving 4 has worked the best for me, Another great vid man cant wait for the next podcast!
BBK your the man the other day I watched your video of PVP tips and my next crucible I got like 20 kills with above a 7.0 kd. I turned off my vibration and it made all the difference!
Would like to add a few things. Maybe obvious things, but I'd like to remind you to use a wired controller always. Look at Dragoon's controller. Plugged in. Same for pro players, they know that even a full battery controller will have slightly slower registration to your console. In most fights against similarly skilled players, every minute advantage is necessary to take advantage of if you want to consistently come out on top. Registration will become even worse as the batteries drain. Also, something that has been taking me awhile to adjust is changing from lining up shots in an opponents general direction, to aiming unzoomed first, always at head level. REMEMBER when quickly looking down sights, make sure the center of your screen is exactly where you want to shoot before zooming in. You'll find yourself dragging your aim left and right less, meaning you won't have to snap your aim violently to find your target before they kill you.
Thanks for the video, the last piece of the puzzle for me is the control freeks you are the third youtuber that has mentioned them I think I will take the plunge.
dustin king Thanks and ya I'd say if your interested give them a try, they are very inexpensive. Just know there will be a learning curve, the first few days will feel weird, but eventually they become second nature
I like that these tips didn't solely apply to destiny so that even if people don't play destiny and they watch this video they will still learn some things.
Love the content. These type of vids have really been helping my PVP performance. Haven't bagged a messenger yet but I love my Hopscotch w/reactive reload n outlaw and I can't wait for the Meta to change
Wooooow.I was form the H4 days apwhere u had like 2K subs and there were people like CrouchingDom,ModestMajor and ToastBombHalo.Wow,the memories.Just found out u plsyed destiny, will start watching!
Being a halo player, strafing just feels natural. Definitely agree that it helps. On Destiny i seem to over aim which is unusual because i use 5 sensitivity. Maybe 4 would be better for me?
In Call of Duty I don't play with vibration but for some reason on this game I got used to the vibration when I jet pack for example so I have to use it on Destiny
Very good video I just saw the date but its straight forward still works you know there tips. I do have one question that I cant seem to figure out. Your color scheme seems to pop more with color is there a setting I can change to make it pop more. "Note" Its just for the names of the team I believe.
Great metaphor. Great tips all around especially on watching ur own play style through game capture. I play on four as well I use the convex freak but I use R1 to fire and L2 to jump (it's harder sometimes to quick scope bc aim assist is designed for R2). I hit platinum In my trials Elo ranking a little bit ago though by using ur techniques
I never even notice the vibration, given all the years as a gamer I've spent with it. I guess it's like how Bruce Wayne trained to conquer pain, it's no longer a problem for him bc he forced himself to endure it so much, it became something he just works through naturally--almost as if it's not there. I feel like turning off vibration would be weird and a distraction for me actually, but everyone's different.
cazyazzdude Its just a personal preference, I really like the weapon a lot and find it much easier to get 2 burst kills than red death. But the messengers slow fire rate is really punishing when missing shots (Red death has the advantage here). The red death perk of the health regen is really nice too for aggressive plays (as long as you can secure kills). I think Juju is really fun on small maps but not on the same tier as Messenger or Red Death. For me I just really like the messenger and would encourage anyone who hasn't yet to get it from brother vance the next time he's selling it
BBKDRAGOON If only I was lucky enough to get more than 3 wins in trials I would definitely try it out, but It does look like you can destroy with that gun.
I enjoyed this vid. I play on a 4 sensitivity too. And I've been using no vibration from about cod mw3 and the analogy about tank and sentry makes sense.
how does vibration throw off your shot? it doesnt generally throw off my shot and I use snipers rather than shotguns (I never shotgun) I play 3 sensitivity Im considering turning off vibration but I want to know how it throws off your shot its pros or cons. I turned off my vibration and for a few games and I did terrible. My shot was off for some reason I kept wasting my sniper ammo wasting bullets on only one target and I couldnt realise quick enough when I was being shot at...
it takes time to adjust. I believe the vibration is a stress mechanic that is distracting, but as stated in the video, no 1 setting fits all. Everyone has personal preference. I strongly believe that having your aiming device, shake in your hands is counter productive to finesse aiming, but if you play better with vibe than stick with it
If you do a controller cam again stick the camera closer or zoom in a bit and have you considered a face cam gameplay? I know it's not for everyone but keep in mind that most of us would probably prefer it! :)
Valtteri Saren If I do controller cam again I will try, it is really hard to get a tripod setup in a way where you can get the controller cam shot, and still see the screen
Thanks for the video, think this will really help me out as I just recently started playing on a console (always used pc for everything, controller is like a whole new universe for me if that make sense).
He means that with a higher sensitivity you will be able to use a more lighter touch on your right stick, so that your accuracy will be improved even with a max sensitivity setting
Dragonboy27 Gamer It all depends on your playstyle, and how you aim, even folks who don't shotgun may prefer a higher sens. I'd say start with sens 3 or 4 and work from there to try and find your comfortable spot
+Arjun Tomar Matador 64 I think, I can't double check right now but I believe that is what I was using. If you want something similar in year 2 check out Party Crasher +1
4 ?! i play at 10 and it still slow probably because im a bf4 player i play at 75% one thing i hate on destiny it has 2 defirent sensitivitys 1 for runing one for aiming/looking around, the runing sensitivity is sloooow i wish they make an option for it so u can ajust it like in bf4
+Huskerdude 2791 (Griff) adept messenger. You can get the adept variant of it only from the chest at the lighthouse in trials. The normal version can drop during Trials (you must win matches for gear to drop in the new Trials) (adept just has an elemental modifier, thats the only difference)
"This game has a VERY tight FOV" - yes, it kills me. How is changing this still not an option? Go 90 or go home. Gotta say vibration has never affected my sensitivity. I have a tight grip, though.
EposVox Hoping to be able to take the blinders off during Deeeeestiny 2 and actually see to the left and right of me. I feel like big boss from metal gear
I can never get used to the aim in destiny. I'm used to games like cod and battlefield where the acceleration is very high, but it's so low in destiny, it makes the aim feel very clunky. Especially with the vertical movement it just feels atrocious.

+Alpha Wolf I'm sorry for the delay in replying, I'm a bit overwhelmed right now trying to catch up with comments. I may try to work something into a video about aim/strafe but I don't have a ton to say on it. The basics are you use the right stick to get in the ballpark (close the opponent), and you use your strafe (left stick) to bring it home (meaning to connect). Imagine you are a turret, and the only thing you can use to hit your opponent is the right stick since you cant move. That is freaking super difficult to do. The left stick and movement is crazy crazy important to aiming. It helps you keep your corsshair on the target, it isn't all the right sticks job to do so, it has to work in tandem with your movement/strafe. Strafing is something that comes with time and experience, and develops from your playstyle and hundred and hundreds of encounters. Its a mix of long and short direction switches, that you must develop instinctively from playing and practicing. Gunfighting effectively can take years to really learn, I'm still learning. Been playing halo multiplayer for over a decade so that experience can help in predicting or anticipating what an opponent may do and adjusting accordingly
i really enjoyed the controller view...always wondered why no one ever has shown that...good video..thx!
i totally agree with the 'no vibration' once i switched it off ive never turned it back on.
There is one big mistake most players make:
Most people shoot their gun as fast as the gun can. This is problematic especially with scout rifles and hand canons.

Stefan Sierraoneoneseven good tips, thank you
Stefan Sierraoneoneseven guilty of this ... and with the 10 sensitivity i'm using, it's no wonder i hit jack. Will need to improve on this.
+Will Jo this is me, except on 8. time to change tonight haha
Steven Bustamento I've actually dropped down to 7 for a month of so and found my Kills improve, maybe i'm too jumpy to play with 10 plus I have vortex on. +Will Jo thanks! i was switching between 8 and 9 consistently. so im going to put it at 7, too, and not touch it for at least 2 weeks
nobody is there to coach new to fps shooters at the moment and I've really been needing this information. thank you so much! im damn determined to be great
yea im the same way man.. i use 4 and turn vibration off. vibration also KILLS batterys on xbox one and i started on 2 which i did well on but with blink shotgun and being able to increase aiming and moving 4 has worked the best for me, Another great vid man cant wait for the next podcast!

great tips thanks. one of the only youtubers that understand people have different playstyles
+BBKDRAGOON one last question, are you doing short movements when you are shooting the enemy? 1:37 - 1:50 ?
Would like to add a few things. Maybe obvious things, but I'd like to remind you to use a wired controller always. Look at Dragoon's controller. Plugged in. rapmetaldemon09 These are excellent, thank you for sharing! Wired always beats wireless, the less latency the better! Have a great day
rapmetaldemon09 interesting point, thanks. So having a wireless DS4 connected to the console for charging will make a difference?
Thanks for the video, the last piece of the puzzle for me is the control freeks you are the third youtuber that has mentioned them I think I will take the plunge.

Greenhatguy 187 Thanks!
Love the content. These type of vids have really been helping my PVP performance. Haven't bagged a messenger yet but I love my Hopscotch w/reactive reload n outlaw and I can't wait for the Meta to change
Colby Dalton Thanks, and hopscotch has incredible base stats, its like a re-rollable messenger, I really want one but the drop rate is crazy low
I just won three games in a row with these tips. Subbed.
So im living proof: took you advice lowered the senstivity. Scored 8 kills first game, up from 0-1. 14 and a victory. Going to try the others as well.
Really great video,I run the messenger as well and I find it great in pvp.Makes a change from all the hand cannon setups. Keep up the good work
Iwan Williams Thank you! Glad to see another messenger user, it is a really fun gun
BBKDRAGOON Hopscotch > Messenger :p
I agree the vibration does make the gun sway a little. I quit playing with vib back on halo reach as well.
I can't play as good as normal without vibration and I've tried many times I feel like I'm purposely removing a sense from the fight
This is a great video I changed to what you use and I haven't changed it for a month now omg I love it
Wooooow.I was form the H4 days apwhere u had like 2K subs and there were people like CrouchingDom,ModestMajor and ToastBombHalo.Wow,the memories.Just found out u plsyed destiny, will start watching!
i Mario Thanks, yeah those were fun days indeed! still having fun :)
Good thoughts. I am interested in the vibration piece. Think I will try that. Also, so you play normal button layout or bumper jump?
Daniel Bond I play bumper jumper, thanks!
i play on 3-4 it seems fine in most circumstances. ive tried no vibro too but its to difficult to tell if im being shot while im doing something.
very good advices that many of us use to forget, its always useful to keep reminding us, thanks !
This is a great video, thanks man. Exactly what I was looking for.
Being a halo player, strafing just feels natural. Definitely agree that it helps. On Destiny i seem to over aim which is unusual because i use 5 sensitivity. Maybe 4 would be better for me?
Are those kontrol stacked on top of each other the bottom is white but the at the top its pink
Hey what kontrolfreeks do you use BBK, i am looking to buy someone but i dont know what to get.
In Call of Duty I don't play with vibration but for some reason on this game I got used to the vibration when I jet pack for example so I have to use it on Destiny
Are u using the bumper jumper control set
Very good video I just saw the date but its straight forward still works you know there tips. I do have one question that I cant seem to figure out. Your color scheme seems to pop more with color is there a setting I can change to make it pop more. "Note" Its just for the names of the team I believe.
I play on the third colorblind settings because it makes teammates bright green and enemies bright red, I think it's easier to see and manage
BBKDRAGOON i agree thank you
BBKDRAGOON would you recommend a short kontrol freek on left for better grip and a tall on left for less deadzone?
Great channel bro... Extremely helpful ... Keep it up
Vibration helped me alot. Thank you!
I agree with you on the vibration thing. It honestly just makes me panic and loose my concentration.
Changed my sensativity down from 9 to 4 and was use to it in 5 minutes.
Great metaphor. Great tips all around especially on watching ur own play style through game capture. I play on four as well I use the convex freak but I use R1 to fire and L2 to jump (it's harder sometimes to quick scope bc aim assist is designed for R2). Brilliant info. Lots of new stuff i've never even thought of.
Thank you, glad it helped!
This helped a lot man thanks for all your help :D
This concept can honestly go with any PvP game. But overall, there very good tips.
matthew isaac Thank you!
Thank you for the info! And love the background music! Reminds me of one of my favorite movies (SuperBad)! 👍🏼
McLovin :)
BBKDRAGOON
Do you claw on xbox?
Thanks, man! Very good tips! Helped a lot
I never even notice the vibration, given all the years as a gamer I've spent with it. What primary gun is that? I like it
Its the messagener. Year 1 osiris pulse rifle.
Hey BBK I see you using the messenger in a lot of clips, Do you think its better than Red Death or Bad Juju or is it your personal preference?
cazyazzdude Its just a personal preference, I really like the weapon a lot and find it much easier to get 2 burst kills than red death. But the messengers slow fire rate is really punishing when missing shots (Red death has the advantage here). BBKDRAGOON Hopscotch Pilgrim is better than all of them ;)
BBKDRAGOON If only I was lucky enough to get more than 3 wins in trials I would definitely try it out, but It does look like you can destroy with that gun.
Chad Carpenter hopscotch is a great pulse, its basically a re-rollable messenger. I would like one, but the drop rate on xbox is crazy low
I enjoyed this vid. I play on a 4 sensitivity too. And I've been using no vibration from about cod mw3 and the analogy about tank and sentry makes sense.
david morgan Thanks and another no vibe believer! BOOYAH!
what gauntlets are you using in this vid?
how does vibration throw off your shot? it doesnt generally throw off my shot and I use snipers rather than shotguns (I never shotgun) I play 3 sensitivity Im considering turning off vibration but I want to know how it throws off your shot its pros or cons. what is the default sensitivity
I now know why my hands are a bit shaky after playing on my xbox, gg m8
Thanks for the video, think this will really help me out as I just recently started playing on a console (always used pc for everything, controller is like a whole new universe for me if that make sense).
Errow thanks!
Hey tour tips are awesome going to use them. Wish me luck
What gun u using
Awesome advice again man! Thanks!
ThePortal64 Thanks!
+1 for you man. I'd love to learn how to play all these raids without matchmaking with you lol.
Hey bbk are you still doing videos for planet destiny?
SSJBleans Yes I am :)
BBKDRAGOON Awesome
Wait so what does the add on stick thing do? Make movements smaller?😩
It gives more leverage for easier finesse accuracy
Indont understand his comment? Someone explain it?
He means that with a higher sensitivity you will be able to use a more lighter touch on your right stick, so that your accuracy will be improved even with a max sensitivity setting
Daniyar Kuanischev
Great to tutorial really appreciate it
Still relevant. Thanks!
Thanks :) thanks to this tutorial crucible became my favorite, and I got reported for cheating because my aim was too good
Great background tunes.
guys pause at 3:37 and look at the list thingamajiger were it shows the streeks kills etc, theres PRODIGY
I don't use Shotguns Low sensativaty is not hard right?
Dragonboy27 Gamer It all depends on your playstyle, and how you aim, even folks who don't shotgun may prefer a higher sens. I'd say start with sens 3 or 4 and work from there to try and find your comfortable spot
BBKDRAGOON All I try to do is that find a player on the other team and kill them with my
Auto Rifle.
And it's LEGENDARY!
What gun is that
It is The Messenger, a Year One Trials gun
Yeesss thank u so much bbk dragon this is so helpful in I owe u one!
Jairo Oliva glad to hear!
What primary is he using?
Messenger it was a year one trials of Osiris pulse rifle
I use a 3. I used to use a 8 or 9 cause of how fast you can move around but It threw my aim of alot
I played hard light on lowest sensitivity. It badly need that accuracy.
Thx for the tips it a helped ALOT
glad to hear, thanks for watching!
+BBKDRAGOON I've been playing much better since I watch ur video
He so right with the memory, I tried sniping, and it took me about 2 or 3 weeks to master it and I head shot people all the time
One shoe fits all. I love mangled phrases.
:)
I love that pulse rifle
Btw what gun is that?
+Jordan Vernon it is an adept messenger, it was a reward for going to the lighthouse during year 1 trials
what shotgun is that
+Arjun Tomar Matador 64 I think, I can't double check right now but I believe that is what I was using. If you want something similar in year 2 check out Party Crasher +1
+BBKDRAGOON ty, I was using patch a and it wasn't doing the job. I switched to party crasher after I watched this video and I am pleased.
thanks this rilly helped
Glad to hear, thanks!
4 ?! i play at 10 and it still slow probably because im a bf4 player i play at 75% one thing i hate on destiny it has 2 defirent sensitivitys 1 for runing one for aiming/looking around, the runing sensitivity is sloooow i wish they make an option for it so u can ajust it like in bf4
same
Yeah it's crazy but I need the look to be higher too after playing other fps games destiny is too slow with the turning your head
What fun the pulse
What gun is he using
An adept messenger, it was a weapon you could get from the lighthouse in year 1
What pulse rifle is he using ? and how do I get it ? lol
+Huskerdude 2791 (Griff) adept messenger. You can get the adept variant of it only from the chest at the lighthouse in trials. The normal version can drop during Trials (you must win matches for gear to drop in the new Trials) (adept just has an elemental modifier, thats the only difference)
You wana play some destiny on the Xbox one some time?
"This game has a VERY tight FOV" - yes, it kills me. How is changing this still not an option? Go 90 or go home.
Gotta say vibration has never affected my sensitivity. I have a tight grip, though.
EposVox Hoping to be able to take the blinders off during Deeeeestiny 2 and actually see to the left and right of me. I feel like big boss from metal gear
Lelel, saw you spamming that respawn button
Grate vid
Vasilios Anagnostou thank you!
Literally a second late on that opening clip... UGH!
I've got a good tip for people get a God roll weapon
Sounds like Ron Burgundy playing in the backround. Good video though.
I switch between 5 and 4
vibration actually helps me aim . everyone really is different.
i play sensitiviy 4 AS WELL!!!
Messenger used to do 123 damage per burst 🙀🙀🙀 what a nerf
I also use 4, I try 5 but it's weird
3:45 hahaha I have a vibrating controller,chair and headset
And dont forget to use op weapons
I've played on 10(Max) since I started playing console.
I can never get used to the aim in destiny. I'm used to games like cod and battlefield where the acceleration is very high, but it's so low in destiny, it makes the aim feel very clunky. Especially with the vertical movement it just feels atrocious.
God all the lag in this video looked brutal. They seriously need to fix their netcode.
n0_punctuation I think the bigger culprit is the fact that its peer to peer, for the majority of my matches netcode isn't an issue. No amount of perfect netcode can resolve P2P connections, I'm hopeful that they'll invest in Dedicated PvP servers for Destiny 2
BBKDRAGOON Yeah but plenty of other games with p2p have much better connection and hit registry than destiny.
+n0_punctuation he said netcode...lol
at 6:15 did anyone see him smash the x button 😂😂
be honest, everyone has done it at least once in their playtime, it's some kind of thing like "huh maybe if I smash it harder I will respawn faster"
Thycho Zwart true
+Brandon Newlan YOU BETTA SMASH DAT MF'IN X BUTTON!
I play on 10 sensitivity because it makes it easy to turn on people.
I play 10 sensitivity yet i still think is a bit slow
The only reason i have bad aim is because my ps3 controller, i need to use so much force to aim
I miss messenger 😢
+BBKDRAGOON more controller cam would be nice
+Alpha Wolf will try to get more of it, may record trials with it today
Okay sounds good
Could you show your strafing technique
+Alpha Wolf I'm sorry for the delay in replying, I'm a bit overwhelmed right now trying to catch up with comments.
