How I learned how to aim is to always be prepared! Don,t aim around any corner for too long until you see the enemy so that you can see the whole view. When you see just a bit of enemy movement, hip drag your view to that position and as you are about to meet the cross hair with the opponent, start aiming and fire. Always keep your gun at chest to head level and if your cross hair is higher than your target, crouch!! (If you can). These things helped me become better in shooters but I still need to learn somethings though.
cross hair awareness, once I started making an assertive effort to always keep my cross hair at head level and started looking for head level landscape markers (marks on walls and such that are beside doorways and choke points at head level) it really upped my game. to be honest I've never really had bad tracking, but my snap to game really improved doing that, not to mention winning most gun fight due to higher amount of head shot than the enemies. choke points are so important in destiny.
I'm not satisfied with where I am now but spending two solid weeks with nothing but NLB as primary in crucible did help me out. I'll also run patrols using a normal primary without ADSing, which helps with reticle placement and CQC hip-fire ability in crucible.
I've recently moved from the default 3 sens to 7, then went back to 5 where I feel I'm most comfortable. What helped the most was practicing with my Last Word on Archon's Forge. Lots of enemies coming at you at all times so you develop muscle memory very quickly.
one thing I do when using the last word is watch the top "tree" (that's what I'm calling it) of the cross hairs to aim while hip firing. that tree will change lengths while firing, but the width is the same and it also stays on the vertical center line of your screen. if you place that tree directly over the opponent's head, i found that head shots are much easier to hit. it's how I used to two tap people consistently. don't know if this will help everyone, but it did help a friend of mine when I told him. just figured I'd throw it out there.
playing 3v3 playlists has improved my gameplay a lot, it's less chaotic and helped me learn the maps and baiting enemies to push me where I'm at an advantage. I played a lot of FPS before Destiny, BF4, Halo 1-5, L4D 2, COD BO2 and old school PS2 FPS game like Tom Clancy's and MoH. Every game had it's play style, gun play and rhythm, Destiny is fast paced shooter all about reaction time and jumping around but the experience i got for from playing FPS games has benefited me so far. It's all about adapting to how the game works and it's rhythm if it's fast paced make them slow down by using the map
one thing that has helped me a lot (after having decent snap accuracy) is honestly using the right stick as little as possible to aim and really only using it to compensate for recoil, helps me from over compensating for the opponents strafe!
I usually go to a patrol and quick scope target with a sniper. it really has helped me with my snap in accuracy. I spend alot of time doing this and making a conscience effort to pay attention where I'm snapping in on initial engagements
Being one of the 'older' gamers (gawd I hate admitting that). The thing that improved my aiming and tracking more was to simply put my glasses on (near sighted). I try not to wear them when ever I can to force my eyes to work hard and hopefully slow the decay that aging imposes. However, in crucible matches where details really do make a difference, the extra bit of clarity adds a whole other level to cross-hair placement. The other tips you mentioned, like anticipating emergence are really spot on. My next challenge is better map awareness. I still struggle with some maps and on others (like Anomaly) understanding run paths and sight lines can really make or break a game. Thanks for the vid!
have you tried contacts? and for map awareness why not just boot up a private match by your self and just run around explore have fun, no pressure and really get to not only know all the high traffic lanes, sniper alleys and shot gun ambush spots but to also enjoy the beauty that is destiny.. for example: did you know that you can see the traveler and the last city on earth in the distance from the "Twilight Gap"?
Thanks for the suggestion Chris! Unfortunately My contacts are only for my Far Sightedness and messes up when I am looking at something close. This limits me to glasses which I can 'look around'. I do use the Private Match mode to wander about the maps. I really love this feature.
I learned a really cool trick on TH-cam. I forgot who it was from but i was told to get a sticky note and cut it where all you have is a tiny little circle. Aim down your sites in the game like a sniper or scout rifle and place it on the center of your crosshairs. This was a tip to help you quick and no scoop enemies with a sniper but it works wonders with other guns two. It's so simple of a trick but its so helpful to zoom in and out of engagements with absolute precision.
actually firing my primary into a wall at the beginning of a match to re-visualize the recoil patter is invaluable when changing up primaries as well as for the first couple of matches for the day
i did that with imprecation, that's what really helped me get those head shots for the first curse bounty.. i discovered the weapon shot up and to the left so i would remember to pull down to the right worked perfectly.. i also learned to appreciate and eventually love slow firing hand cannons because of that bounty, at first i was struggling for weeks, then realised i was struggling against the gun instead of trying to work with it strengths and learn its weakness lol
control freeks helped a lot, since for primary battles, I preferred the slower sensitivity, used to use 3, but when I pulled out my shotgun, I couldn't react fast enough for close targets, so I got control freeks to help with the differing sensitivities, and now I use a 6, which control freeks help for primary fights, while still keeping my reaction time for shotgunning
I year 1 I played a TON but I never cared about stats or k/d, I had a .2 and over 5000 kills. In year two I started watching some vids on how to get better. I started grinding my ass off and now I sit at a 1.16 because of vids like this :)
I noticed my aim improved a lot when I started playing claw. Even if you don't want to play claw, I highly recommend looking at right thumb placement on the analog. Claw made me use just the tip of my thumb and I'm fairly sure that's why it helps my accuracy.
I'm new to watching your channel and I have to say, I really like your stuff! I appreciate how well thought out and articulate you are. This guide actually brought to attention some things I've never thought of before!
wow your one of the few subscribes that I know who actually know what their talking about. I have a 0.9 k/d meaning am a scrub and am trying to improve my overall play in destiny to try go flawless with my team mates who are better than me but I drag them down so much. I was wondering if I could send my game play towards you and you can analysis what I do wrong and what i should try improve on on my overall game play. I would really appreciate it as destiny is quickly becoming a frustrating game for me as I watch tons of video on how to improve but relatively I don't see much improvement in my overall game play. who knows you could make a TH-cam video and talk through with what am doing wrong which I think would do wonders for people like me. in that way scrubs like me would relate.
Well i can track just due to playing shooters for a long time. But i play on like 1-2 sensitivity compared to most of my friends who play 7 up. Thats just something that helps me keep control and i have fairly good reaction speed so even with low sensitivity i can usually turn as soon as i hear or see something on the radar. The destiny radar is really helpful for this as well as it lights up even if the enemy is far away and that helps. I feel like i just wrote an essay, but i hope some people read this and take advice if it suits their play style.
Im old school fps PC gaming with quake & unreal tournament & good old CS, and as a PC game I all ways preferred keyboard and mouse, now I can use my Logitech G13 & G502 with any console with xim4. With the xim4 my entire right for arm becomes the right stick of the controller giving me greater accuracy at max settings & with the ability to remap & adjust sincitivity settings on the fly I can quickly create a profile for any FPS on the console of my choice.
to be honest after the most recent update it is finding the right type of gun that suits your playstyle and knowledge. either a fudging bullet hose auto or an ill will. don't go for something that is not fitting the sight lines you like to use. also perfect practice makes perfect. playing someone a little bit better and asking them questions helps too
Took me toward the end of rank 4 IB to get a Clever Dragon to drop. But when it did, oh boy- Braced Frame High Caliber Rounds Head Seeker Mag is a bit low at 24, but by god is it still a beast.
It was really to odd me but I started bringing NLB into everything but trials for a month and once I switched back to other weapons my aim was really precise and I was winning a lot more gunfights
I like my Grasp better than the rank 5 version being sold. However, I went up against a few Braced Frame, High Cal. Clever Dragons and IMO that's the best gun in the game. High Cal on this fast of pulse rifle is just brutal.
Trill Ridah I agree high caliber rounds does make a huge difference. Although my dragon does have braced frame I prefer counter balance & perfect balance with high caliber rounds, because I don't have to take the hit in number of rounds that you have in each magazine with braised frame.
try the first curse or the ill will as your only weapon, you will be very careful with every engagement, you will learn all about cover, angles and when to fight or flee, great training you can then take with you for any weapon..
Simple practice and your tips. Focusing on headshot/upper body. I had a bad habit of aiming low. I don't think I'm good but I am better than when I started.
Probably when I switched to the elite controller. I have the thumb sticks recoil faster and it's makes aiming and predicting where the enemy will be much easier
What about tracking in cqc shotty engagements. I feel overwhelmed at times when me and a player are in a tight area and everyone starts jumping with shottys lol
once you change your sensitivity go into atleast ten strikes with guns you use for pvp so you know how fast it moves and you get used to it alot easier. n u wont get as mad as if u were destroying ur kd in pvp
I try to make every pve expirienc a practice session for pvp ; every shot a head shot, leveling up weapons/gear and, testing new weapons befor going into the crucible.
My aim improves with practice and also trying out new guns all the time. If you only practice with 2 or 3 weapons and get used to their recoil, any changes in recoil direction ie. flinch, can really hurt you. try to become adept at recoil control as a whole.
I've been using kontrol Freaks from Black Ops 2 but only on my right stick. When I started to play destiny I went for highest sensitivity and that didnt work so I dropped it down to 4.
thanks for watching, I play on sensitivity 4, I've debated going to 5 a lot lately especially with how shotgun heavy this current patch is but ultimately 4 is comfortable for me

hey man been a fan for a bit, wow i am an idiot i just recognized your name from the game legend of dragoon lol.. that was an awesome game for its time, keep up these great improve your self destiny videos..
one problem I have is that I keep fucking pressing L3 by accident when moving and trying to aim, but all it does is make me sprint and suddenly I'm dead because I couldn't look down the sights.
If you hit quick scopes daily then your snap accuracy and sensitivity is good, if you don't then you have to stop using that matador of yours and get good at both sniping and shottying
Kirito527833 start the game go on the dvr and press record as soon as the game is finished you need to stop the recording manually that will record the whole game. Remember to give it a few minutes before trying to watch it back it sort of needs some time to catch up with its self. Ignore the recording options as it says you can only record up to 5 mins I think but that bullshit if you start it manually during the game and stop it manually during the game it will record all of it, hope that helps.
No, I just wasn't having much fun with H5 so I took a break. I'm excited about Halo Wars 2 and as soon as we get some information about what's happening in 2017 (like possibly H3A) then I"ll hop back in most likely. It was hard though to make content when I wasn't having as much with H5 as I used to
My accuracy with Bad Juju is apparently 34% on Destiny Tracker. Unacceptable! The gun gives me an excuse to get lazy because I can survive wild firing with it. I should really practice with my Last Word or something but I really don't want to sacrifice my K/D or combat rating.
I wasn't having as much fun with H5 these days so I took a break, I am eagerly awaiting to hear whats coming in 2017 though (maybe H3A). Once we get some more info I'll probably be back on it
Why is everyone crying about the Clever Dragon? Isn't this like the entire purpose of "competitive gaming"? Everyone is on a even playing field?! As for the question: Practice... Took me forever to get a decent aiming in halo 5 and luckily it transfered to destiny
chris cangelosi I really don't know what the fanbase is on about... On one side they are cryin for competetivie gaming and on the other hand they wanna buff every single thing in destiny that completly destroys the balance.... I had my time with destiny but it's time to move on...
yeah, for the next weeks im not going to play pvp anymore, because of the meta right now. its just sad that we have such high deversity of weapons but we only have few ones that are efectiv
I found over the years that the pressure you put on yourright analog stick makes a big difference in my accuracy. The less pressure I put on the right stick the better I aim, that took many hours of conscious effort to not put much pressure on the right stick and my aim improved drastically. Idk thats what works for me. BBK do you put alot of pressure on the right stick or not?
I've been playing Destiny on a lower sensitivity (either 3 or 4) and with kontrol freeks. They really help me to make micro adjustments mid gunfight.
How I learned how to aim is to always be prepared! Don,t aim around any corner for too long until you see the enemy so that you can see the whole view. Yeah I had a great friend who used to put a small black dot at the center of the crosshair on his monitor using a sharpie pen.

playing with weapons like Fabian Strategy, Unbent Tree, Assembly II, etc. You really learn how to track the head of your enemy.

haha thanks
BBKDRAGOON do think they are definitely going to nerf pulse rifles or buff all primaries? Also awesome vid!!
Geez that feed when you were explaining accuracies man
GG indeed

Kontrol Freeks for sure. I was decent before, but ever since I got the Destiny edition ones my aim has improved dramatically.
ah I remember that picture you used for the outro. such a good picture.
Use the no land beyond and slow rate of fire hand cannons like the palindrome they helped my accuracy with snipers and primary's a ton
try the first curse or the ill will as your only weapon, you will be very careful with every engagement, you will learn all about cover, angles and when to fight or flee, great training you can then take with you for any weapon..
Playing with better and more educated players helps me improve substantially.
good post, i have issues tracking hopefully these tips help, thanks a bunch
Thanks for watching!
Simple practice and your tips. Focusing on headshot/upper body. I had a bad habit of aiming low. I don't think I'm good but I am better than when I started.
Thats a good reminder, aiming too low is a bad habit I get into sometimes
Probably when I switched to the elite controller. I have the thumb sticks recoil faster and it's makes aiming and predicting where the enemy will be much easier

I once had a week off from school... That helped my aim a lot :P
Haha... in my state I get a week off for thanksgiving... can't wait for 24/7 destiny
Control freaks helped me
Good video. I like how you are real and don't claim to be anything like other you tubers. Just good advice and peace out. Keep up the good work
Thank you
fantastic tips!! Thanks:)
Thanks for watching!
I try to make every pve expirienc a practice session for pvp ; every shot a head shot, leveling up weapons/gear and, testing new weapons befor going into the crucible.
good vid! do you believe we will see a December weapon balancing patch? thx
Thanks and yeah I think early December right after Playstation experience there will be a balance pass. Last years patch was on Dec 4
BBKDRAGOON Thanks! should be interesting to see what bungie does. :)
the thing that help me improve my aim the most us the fucking first curse quest
Yeah a thing that has helped me greatly is
getting gud sun
haha truth!
:P
BBKDRAGOON This honestly just made me realize my problem, thanks ! Also, any tips for staying consistent?
My aim improves with practice and also trying out new guns all the time. If you only practice with 2 or 3 weapons and get used to their recoil, any changes in recoil direction ie. flinch, can really hurt you. try to become adept at recoil control as a whole.
I've been using kontrol Freaks from Black Ops 2 but only on my right stick. When I started to play destiny I went for highest sensitivity and that didnt work so I dropped it down to 4.
I turned of controller vibration.
Hey mate,
Thanks for the vid. What sensibility you playin @ please?
Cheers.
thanks for watching, I play on sensitivity 4, I've debated going to 5 a lot lately especially with how shotgun heavy this current patch is but ultimately 4 is comfortable for me
Thanks for your answer mate ;)
Practice. Lots of it. Nearly got a positive overall k/d now
Right on!
BBKDRAGOON Destiny is the first FPS I've ever played. Ever. I'm an old school OG Nintendo guy, and probably much older than most of the audience of your videos, however...
Even though starting Y1 PVP with an abysmal .3-.4 K/D and struggling in Y2 for a .8, here I am in Y3 and about to break 1.0 K/D by watching your vids, as well as guys like Mtashed and TrueVanguard.
Practice, practice, practice. And learn the maps. Learn the most traveled routes. Lead as many engagements as you can with a grenade to prime. Use your vertical space (lol TrueVanguard copyright, in sure). Keep the reticle aimed at head level, even when sprinting. So many pieces of minutiae in this games PVP.
As an old guy with old guy reaction speed, only way I get better is by trying to be smarter than the other players.
Keep it up BBK, you're doing a great service for the PVP Destiny community with vids like this one.
+John Olson Destiny was my first FPS game too. I started in year mid TTK and I averaged around .3 to .4 K/D ratios. Their content has helped me and so many others improve. Their content will continue to do this and help people improve and I'm sure of it. I can't wait for more videos so thanks BBKDRAGOON and keep up the great content!
What primary do you use
Soul Snapshot he uses grasp of malok
+Bocan 2210 thanks
What sight is it on his grasp
Red Dot ORES
BBKDRAGOON ok I have been wondering for a while and I have never seen it on any of my grasps
What roll does he have on that grasp of malok?
Counterbalance,Smallbore,FeedingFrenzy
Is Suros good again now?
I saw a vid this week of Mtashed using it and it looked pretty fun
hey man been a fan for a bit, wow i am an idiot i just recognized your name from the game
legend of dragoon lol.. that was an awesome game for its time, keep up these great improve your self destiny videos..
Thank you! and thanks too for noticing the legend of dragoon reference :)
Nlb help a lot for some reason

How can I record a whole game on Xbox one?
Kirito527833 start the game go on the dvr and press record as soon as the game is finished you need to stop the recording manually that will record the whole game. The only thing I dislike about this video is your lack of the pimp daddy Heart of Gold ornament on Truth.
_I cant get a decent clever dragon because my god damn internet keeps booting me from games_
Nice one boss vid mate got your self a sub ,catch ye ltr ......
Bro what happened to your halo vids , those were dope. Still love these though.
I wasn't having as much fun with H5 these days so I took a break, I am eagerly awaiting to hear whats coming in 2017 though (maybe H3A). Once we get some more info I'll probably be back on it
BBKDRAGOON There is a custom game browser coming to halo 5 in a future update, that should be cool.
Bought a brand new xbox controller without stick drift
Guys ,guys ,guys. Ever heard of The Last Word? Just use it to kill those clever dragon fans.
Why is everyone crying about the Clever Dragon? Isn't this like the entire purpose of "competitive gaming"? Everyone is on a even playing field?!
As for the question: Practice... Took me forever to get a decent aiming in halo 5 and luckily it transfered to destiny
same thing happened once xur sold it a few times, every one started using the suros year1 lol
chris cangelosi I really don't know what the fanbase is on about... On one side they are cryin for competetivie gaming and on the other hand they wanna buff every single thing in destiny that completly destroys the balance....
I had my time with destiny but it's time to move on...
i think they runied pvp diversity wiht that clever dragon roll
Nah, it'll be fine, balance pass will most likely be in a couple of weeks, I am very ready for some fresh changes though
yeah, for the next weeks im not going to play pvp anymore, because of the meta right now. its just sad that we have such high deversity of weapons but we only have few ones that are efectiv
