Back in 2021 I had lost my job and was at a very low point in my life I was constantly considering sewer slide. Since I had so much free time all I did was scroll tic tok and it was horrible. It felt like every other post I would see was something that made me feel more sad and worthless and like life wasn’t worth living. I eventually gathered the courage to delete the app and try to turn my life around. I’m very glad I did bec life now is much better I am very happy and never use social media now.
I haven’t had social media in almost 9 years. It’s been so nice and I hope everyone can get some peace offline. It’s crazy how much you realize how toxic being online all the time is until you log off.
I currently only watch youtube when I'm excercising. I've been gaming less and with intention to socialize with my friends, get lost in a single player game or relax in a comfort game. One rule I've created for myself is that I have to decide what game I'm going to play before turning my console on.
BBKDRAGOON, I hope you know that you are helping thousands of people, You are doing Gods work on a modern platform (TH-cam). You helped me through many hard times in my life and also helped me find my passion again with video games
I get up at 4:30 am and get a few solid hours every morning to play video games. Uninterrupted too. Everyone else in my house is asleep for several hours after I get up. I am able to beat si many games even as a busy adult with kids and a house and job. It doesn’t work for everyone but it does for me. I want a flip phone but some things would be so difficult without a smart phone. I’ve never been one to be into social media though and am good at not letting my phone distract me.
This video is why I subscribed this channel, the guy speaks the truth that no one does and is very honest about many things that "pro gaming channels or Pro gamers" don't tell you about gaming. "Pro gamers" just want everyone to grind games and quit doing anything else in real life but that's not how life works and that why "Pro and competitive gaming" is fake
Work / Life has me alot busier but I still game a good bit. There is alot more than just gaming for recreation or fun from a digital perspective. Third spaces are important (coffee shops, gyms, card shops) when I was in High School, something that allowed me to come out of my shell was going to a board game shop / card shop. I was really able to interact with folk with my similar interests and actually do things I would have never done ordinarily (DnD, Magic, 40k) Led to some crazy adventures and I miss that era. If you play anything competitive, you could have your local LAN cafe when those were around. Personally, if you exercise alot I would highly recommend picking up a fighting game and joining your local scene, its something that compliments working out due to having to keep the mind and body sharp but also a real test in reflexes. Now though I do find myself looking for another hobby that fits the outside mold. I kind of potentially want to get into, might be biking casually or something else!
A few things I enjoyed doing was I only use my cellphone for calls/texts/messages and teams/outlook for work. HOWEVER, I don't have notifications for works stuff on ever, when I'm on call for IT stuff it's all via calls. I think people need to turn off notifications more and drop social media. I really like TH-cam but I also use it when I don't actually want to, and this is the time I'm trying to redirect to something else but I'm old and it's a WIP lol. Great video.
Two years ago I was sick with stress. I turned off so many notifications and it helped immensely. Now I'm sick with stress again and turned off even more notifications and my phone automatically mutes at certain daily hours to make me less distracted and frustrated and to be able to focus more on my family. It's making a world of a difference.
You right about the balance part. Doing the same thing over and over may make you crazy. Changing activities sometimes does feel refreshing as along as they feel good or fun.
I’ve fallen in love with your style of content. Short form and very personal. It’s inspired me to get back into content creation for the gaming community!
Where I live there’s literally nowhere to go outside. There’s nothing to see. Nothing to do. Especially as an autistic guy in his 30s there is literally nowhere to hang out and socialize with real people.
the legend of heroes trails series is on sale on steam during the current Autumn sale if you llike turn based JRPGS and a awesome storyline with the games heavily connected to one another i highly recommend this series. thhe games ain't too demanding on pc's at all.
He's definitely right. After spending more time with different things irl I did end up less stressed and more focused on the things that do make me happy (or fulfilled) A recommendation for the Winter Sale: Zero Sievert A top-down singleplayer extraction shooter in Stalker Style. Absolute cinema this game
You now what, you are totally right. But... I feel like if i had not been a gamer i would be dead. Cause this life as society created it just sucks. Man i can try and do whatever. At the end of the day you are in the fkn hamster wheel without any chance to escape. At least i can not figure out how this would be possible. And i guess it's not the worst were i live. With 40 hour jobs are the norm, no weekends it is kinda not that bad right? But on the other hand you work 5 days kinda without much free time... or i guess you have some free time but no energy to do something other than sit infront of the computer and game a bit, especially in this time of the year (man i hate winter). So yeah without gaming how should i enjoy life, with only things you HAVE-TO do and no things you want to? Yay at least you have one day to relax and then on sunday you hate your life again cause tomorrow on monday you have to work again for a whole week. At times i really understand why alcohol is the drug nr1... and legal. Maybe i'm wrong, but i do not really see the light at the end of the tunnel tbh sometimes.
I've reduced my TH-cam subs from the hundreds to the teens this year, having a sub box full of videos ironically gave me as big a FOMO as a gaming backlog!
*i miss traversing the world, playing basketball in every state 👌 I was a fit feral man, I could kill a bear with my hands 😬 now I'm just on the computer studying and networking 20 hours a day, it's been 8 years since I traveled* 😭

Man, I love your comments and reflections. Always help me a lot to make more clear thoughts that I'm having already. Keep on keeping on!

I’m so glad that I skipped the social media faze when I was in high school, I always stick to TH-cam where I can enjoy my content!
"Life well spent" comic book guy
Damn man, coming at us with the heat on this one. Too true though

The internet made me alone and isolated. 7 years now. Don't get like me. Go offline.

The man's gameplay was so good, I had to watch the video 2 times.
Respect for this video
Time to go offline and play more games
I dont wanna deal with society. It sucks.

I can second that. I am like 11 games in now and have been playing these games for a few years now. They are incredible.
This video makes me sad
