I've just ordered mine 2 weeks ago, it's a blast to drive! Being all my life a big JDM fan and owned some, and drive a quite few amount including European supercars dreaming of maybe one day having my ultimate goal but with prices skyrocketing and difficult and expensive importing fees the R34 GTR, so initially i wanted to trade my Accord Type S here in europe for the civic type r limited edition, it's a very good car but different, randomly i went to the BMW dealer and tried the new M240i and man i couldn't believe it, for me is like a german Skyline but newer and better i can say that i am happy with my choice and as you say at the conclusions you don't need the m2 or m3 to have a good driving experience, this m240i is already more powerful than a m3 from some years ago and the chassis and suspension set up is excellent, just would like to be lighter, for the rest awesome car and as you also pointed it's unrivaled. Now i have to wait till June to arrive. Very nice and informative review, didn't know your channel its great!
Looks stunning with the added length and width. Interior material is so much better than the previous generation 2 series. The 230i is more affordable but I prefer the M240!!
I have an AMG but I really wanna buy this car but only if BMW gives me a job. I don’t like the 2 doors I prefer a sedan because it’s more practical but this BMW looks so good and unique.
Love that color combo. I have the F22 in Mineral White Metallic with the Terra Brown interior. I did replace all the interior trim pieces on my car with the M Performance Alcantara & Carbon Fiber pieces.
I asked myself that same question after the test drive, and I’d have to go with the M240i simply because of the B58 Inline 6. On the other hand Audi’s digital cockpit and MMI user interface is better than what BMW offers in my opinion, and the interior as a whole has been upgraded to where it resembles an A4/S4. The deciding factor is that BMW put the 2 Series coupe on the CLAR platform making it ride and handle really well and it now feels like a baby 4 Series. 2 really solid cars where I don’t think you make a mistake choosing one over the other. It just comes down to personal preference.
@@BostonAutoBlog I had an S3, and I really liked the car except for the fact that you had to hit that switch for the auto start/stop function EVERY time you started the car. It drove me absolutely crazy. BMW doesn't do that. Hit the button ONCE and it turns off permanently unless for some strange reason you turn it back on again. I traded that S3 for an X3, and its no looking back. This M240 however, I think looks great in blue, black or red.
Dieselgate vs. century old independent? Not even a choice, isn't S3 rebadged VW platform, like most "Porsche" nowadays? @ least 2er is reconfigured 3er, amazes me commitment BMW have made to segment & body style rest of market seem to have abandoned.
nice car, i bought already. the truth normally Im penny pinch but this car changed my mind. that the reason this car deserved to buy. i checked golf R, audi S, mercedes cla, lexus and q60 infiniti. best fast and good price only this car. even im not fannatic bmw.
Last model was on the heavy side for a small coupe, but this one just got to large wish it wouldn't have gained so much weight! Also just wish the front end looked more iconic like the previous model!✌
There should be a vehicle design course based on the latest BMW designs alone. They have somehow managed to find so many ways to create ugly that it’s a one stop shop for everything not to do.
Yes, why they've been expanding for 6 decades. BMW not a volume manufacturer, they sell fraction of majors, they don't have to appeal to everyone (you) so they don't try to. Irrelevant as market changes to BEV.
@@unowen-nh9ov I was once a devout BMW fan. I purchased two BMWs through the European delivery program which was a wonderful experience. That program is now cancelled as is everything else that used to make them great. They will be bankrupt by the end of this decade.
@@abstractreasoner How old are you? You'll be dead before BMW are bankrupt (though they were post-War). In a decade market is predicted to be BEV autonomous rideshare, BMW are 1 of the leaders in EV while you are ignorant delusional hater troll typist now.
Great improvement in the performance department, but what's up with that weird, tacky design on the inside of the doors? And those grills, not a good look! And thumbs down for getting rid of the manual transmission. And don't get me started on the stupid instrument panel. Wtf, BMW? I will say, though, that the car has an outstanding profile.
I love this. Looks like BMW went back to their routes with this one and would buy it if I didn't have 2 kids. If I could I would have the M240i xDrive with that red interior with the Melbourne Red or Portimao blue. This, 3, 5, 8, X3, X5 look and drive good. Excellent video! You have a new sub!
I wish they offered it in a manual, if they did i would probably buy one in this exact spec.
Does this not have heated mirrors?
Can’t wait to get my 230i! Just test drove one this past weekend and loved it. Wish i could the m240i, but my insurance is not having that.
Same😂😂
My 170 bhp. automatic E9 put me within 1 point of losing my license.
Whered you test drive? Didn't know that was already available
I'm 22 and bought the m240 and my insurance is only about $250 a month I doubt ur paying more than me?

My only gripe are how narrow the tires are, especially the rear.
Great review. What was the price as tested off this car? Thanks.
Top …thank you great review 😀😀👏😉greats from Belgium 🇧🇪

Great review as always! Great to see this new release getting some coverage
Thanks for the informative video I would like to ask your recommendation m240 or m440 if I don’t care about rear seats

Thanks Jonah! This M240i was in Alpine White
