      How are you doing now? Hope still doing well. Went through 7 days off buprenorphine from 20mg a day to nothing. Been on it for over a decade. Those days were horrible. Day six started to get better. Got back on it. Going to try and taper it down and hopefully get off in the future now that I know it could be done.

      I know your pain I was on methadone for 17 years for chronic pain syndrome and my doctors wanted to switch me over to Suboxone. I said absolutely not so I slowly tapered myself down took me about six months to do. It dropped off at 2.5 mg had very minimal withdrawal after day 14. I started to feel a little bit better right now I am on day 18 and so far the only side effect I have now is excessive sneezing and I’m getting between 4 to 6 hours a night of sleep. I would much rather deal with that then having severe withdrawal so I highly recommend tapering it really does help. It just takes a long time to do it.

      Was on methadone 85mgs majority of the time outta the 13 years I was on detoxed for about 9 months it was rough but I finally got off in May 2021. I was clean for about 2 years until I took a piece of a subutex Aug 11th 2023. I really messed up and I am once again going thru withdrawal I know I can do it again problem is I never really experienced happiness when I got off methadone It took me months to feel somewhat normal. If u want off something u definitely can do it I had a moment where I thought it would be fine just to take 1 subutex well that pill lasted 8 days then on 2 the next pill lasted me 5 days and when I stopped taking the subs it felt like I started over from the beginning I was kinda shocked because I wasn't using much this subutex shit is very addictive. I will detox but it's rough just thought I'd share wish everyone the best in there recovery.

    Thank you for sharing your real life experience! I’m just about to have to go “cold turkey.” My connection is no longer available……. So I’m forced into this……. I wanted to taper off but…… it is what it is. I was an opiate addict for 15+yrs and then on suboxone for the last 5yrs. I’m really scared and worried, but deep down I know that this is what I want and it’s been a long time coming. Again, thank you for sharing! It shows me that it is possible and that I am far from the last person to be in this situation……. Take care and have a blessed day! Wish me luck

      Being worried and anxious about having to get off, is THE worst part about the whole thing, and the biggest hurdle. Once you're off, just know, it's not going to last forever, and you will be feeling better soon, just stick it out until you do.
      It's crazy the things you can do, especially when in a situation you're forced to do something. Just keep your mind on track, and busy. Don't think, or overthink the situation and how you feel, and you'll be through to the other side before you know it.
      GOOD LUCK, and keep me updated. Take care!

      The anxiety is definitely the worst part about the whole ordeal, mostly when tapering.
      You can probably make it to work on Monday, but you're going to have mild flu like symptoms for a couple weeks, and a tired feeling for a month or two.
      It's different for everyone, you'll just have to try it out and see how you feel. I would definitely make the jump though if you want off of that stuff. I'm sure you'll be able to tough it out at work.

      I am not new to suboxone or taper but one thing I recently re-learned and applies to your particular taper schedule I want to give you heads up on is this- apparently you can half your dose as such all the way until the last 2mg or 1mg BUT at that point, go much slower , such as only decrease by .25 at a time , for a longer period .
      The dr that explains this taper reason is Dr. b or at least who I heard recently from - said many make a mistake jumping off the last so fast and underestimating some things - it makes sense with my experience of tapering 2 times to 10 months

    • @SuboxoneRecovery-kd3it
      @SuboxoneRecovery-kd3it  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly, that's the biggest hurdle, combating the anxiety, and nervousness of coming off. You just feel a little tired and a little achy while tapering for the most part. Just have to keep yourself busy, and not think about it. Just go about it like any other day. Taper the amount and length you feel comfortable, but the bigger drops you make, and the quicker you do it, will get you feeling better sooner! It's amazing how good you feel once you're off completely and give it a couple months. Well worth it!

My doc and I have discussed getting off completely and together we decided there's no point. My life is fine, the expense is next to nothing so why? That's my story, I know not yours. If I could give you any advice to get off, it would be just slowly taper off. Being at 8mg you could probably make pretty decent tapers. Try going to 6mg and see how you feel, maybe stay on that for a month or two, then go down to 4mg, do the same thing. Usually once people get to 2mg it starts getting a little tougher, and need to taper a little more slowly and smaller dose cuts. You can do it!

    I went from heavy heroin use to 2mg subs, they had to bump me up to 2 ¹/² tabs of 8mg subs and i still was basically useless for months. Withdrawal is completely gone now with 2 ¹/² tabs a day. But my depression is back 7 fold, and i dont sleep for 3 to 4 days sometimes and sleep can last for 30 minutes to 6 or 7 hours. Never restful sleep. Thoughts of suicide have come back. No feeling of purpose, and many days are accompanied by a lack of a will to live. My appetite has completely gone. I wiegh less now than i ever did on heroin of pain meds. And my childhood depression symptoms and suicidal thoughts were the whole reason I started self medication with heroin. I went from quiet, depressed, and lonely to energetic, happy, and outspoken enough to lead more of a life than i ever had before. I was even holding down multiple jobs on heroin. Stopped using and now I'm a worthless 27yo child living with my parents, no job, no truck, no friends, no money. Thats my personal experience

      No one is worthless, or beyond help or repair. I know sometimes it's hard to see your worth in this day and age, and in certain circumstances, and sometimes we beat up on ourselves for our situations, but never worthless. I lived with my parents until I was 29, there's nothing wrong with that. With the price of things these days, it's almost impossible to live on your own without the help of someone else. You will get there, just have to give yourself time. Try working on things just a little at a time, start working on small things, and before you know it, you'll be further ahead than you realize, no matter how hard it is.
      Do things for yourself, and take care of yourself, do things that make you feel good, even pick up a hobby. Hobbies are great for for feelings of depression or suicidal thoughts, and gives you a sense of self.
      There's always time to change your situation, and things are never hopeless. Believe me, I've been in a similar boat before, if I can do it, you can too. Just take life head on, and power through it, even if it's just a little at a time, any progress, is progress. Things will get better.

      I know exactly what you’re talking about. I started at 24mg a day. I’m down to 6 now. Working on slowly coming off. Now, about the thoughts and depression. Start setting goals. Even small ones. Mine were things I needed to get my life in order from basically being an addict from teenage years until in my 30’s, so there was plenty to clean up. Take it one thing at a time. Believe it or not, each accomplishment no matter how small, will slowly but noticeably change your outlook on life. Plus you’re making your life better for when you’re off completely. Even non addicts need to set goals and work towards them for a sense of purpose. If you’re like me, you’ll have to literally force yourself. I used to not even be able to make phone calls, much less actually interact with people. But now I’ve cleaned up so much damage, including getting my record expunged and I feel so much better about my life and my place being alive. You have nothing to lose, so go for it! Good luck!🍀

    Do two shots of kratom one at 72 hrs , then one more at 100 hrs. Will get you feeling almost normal to be able to get some fluids in you for rd 2. Every 100 hrs are milestones for the pain.

    the horror stories are real, you tapered off a tiny dose fucking dose and still are making a video about it and complaining about day light savings. Proper opioid withdrawal you will not sleep for over a week out of shear pain because laying down is fucking painful just laying. "i still went to work" you can't work while in actual withdrawal so stop with the "you can do it too" stuff man, when you don't know what "it" even is.

    STAY AWAY FROM KRATOM!!!! I have seen people develop a massive kratom habit and be worse off then just taking the subs. Be smart. Don’t take something to replace the drug, just find a way to get through the withdrawal and you will be all good in the hood.

    You can tell this guy has never been through heroin withdrawal lol. Yeah people let me tell you something, you start with heroin and then you get on Suboxone. Your body if it is not used to opiates penetrating it's Marriw And you jump into Suboxone, the withdraws will be just as bad as heroin. So remember, start with heroin first!

    • @SuboxoneRecovery-kd3it
      @SuboxoneRecovery-kd3it  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Suboxone withdrawal isn't quite as bad as heroin withdrawal physically, but it is much longer, and drawn out, and mentally taxing. Especially when being on it for 10+ years, after years of various types of hard of substance abuse.
      This channel is about overcoming the fear of withdrawal, getting and staying clean. If you want an award for heroin withdrawal, you have to go somewhere else.
      Getting clean, and staying clean, is much more of an accomplishment than, experiencing withdrawal from any substance.
