I have been clean for over 4 years thanks to suboxone. Because of suboxone I have a life, my wife and kids have a husband and father! Best decision I have ever made
Suboxone is an opiod 40 x times stronger than morphine ,how can u think u r clean ,if u r on it ,uv just switched one opiod addiction for another, your not clean
I am a psych NP and I was on the fence about taking a job where I would be prescribing Suboxone. After watching this video, I feel SO MUCH BETTER and I took the job (granted, I will be undergoing additional training) I am so glad I did. Seriously. Thank you.
But you will give someone Seroquel or Zyprexa? 2 of the most dangerous drugs ever. Try coming off zyprexa. You get 8 hours of Suboxone training?? Kratom is much better than Suboxone. I turned it down. Don’t want my dr to see in my prescription profile I took Suboxone.
So a Psychiatrist in sneakers convinced you. It would be much simpler if you recommended Kratom. It’s way better and when I come and see you and you go on your laptop to see what prescriptions I had filled Kratom will not be on there. Great right. Just remember when you put someone on Suboxone every Dr/ NP/ PA-C can see it . Then there is a bias. Plus the Pt keeps their teeth. So many lawsuits against Suboxone.
I do not care who says what Suboxone has saved me and even if I have to stay on it for the rest of my life that is fine cause there is no way I want the hell of addiction ever again

@@Paxtonpia thank you! I actually switched to Sublocade on 3/22. The first week was a bit rough as I felt like I was going back into WDs. Since then it’s been better and it’s amazing not having to take something daily anymore. The hardest part of addiction was constantly thinking of when I could get my next fix, and worrying about having enough supply on trips/overnight stays at friends places. No longer is that a worry of mine anymore. And no more ups and downs with the strips! Just feeling normal and well 24/7. I’m excited to get my next two, and also last two shots, to see how my experience is with getting off of bup. Goes for me. Lots of people have had extremely great success with the 300/300/100 and then nothing. No withdrawals reported
I don’t care what other people think of me and I don’t care about stigma. my life has changed for the better and suboxone saved my life. I have over a year clean. And I have my own apartment and I am living independently and I have everything I need. Suboxone helps me stay healthy and allows me to live a healthy life without any other substances. I rather be healthy and live a comfortable life and be stigmatized than be unhealthy unhappy and dead. Overall I am grateful.
But overall this medication saves a lot of lives, and helps people get out of a drug addict life style. Even though you're still technically on an opiate and dependent on it, at least your not scaping change up for drugs, or having to call some sketchy drug dealer. It takes the immense financial stress, and guilt away from the equation. Its much better than methadone because methadone makes you feel like your going to get your drugs every day, it keeps you in that mentality.
@davidkruse4030 they're really the same as far as how they affect the body. The only difference is whether it came directly from opium poppies or from a lab.
@@geekinhard343 methadone does NOT keep ppl in a drug taking or drug buying mentality!! That’s a terrible thing to say!! Are you trying to sabotage those who are in methadone??

Important to note, when switching from the suboxone tablet to the suboxone film, make sure you take it sublingually 1st. Do not take it buccally at 1st bc of the higher bioavailability. It knocked me out with the same dose on the film taking it buccally at first switching from the pill.
I met with a lot of suboxone prescribers & most of them are taking advantage of people that are in a bad way. Refusing insurance make people come twice a week at $300 to $1500 a visit. And Literally do nothing but writing the script. It took me a while to find a doctor who didn't care about the money it's about helping people get their life back.
Exactly. People are being taken advantage of you are so correct v if the gov wants to push this on people why insurance won’t cover the cost of the Dr visit. Also I commented this should only be used short term. This is not for chronic pain patients but they are pushing this on to veterans who suffer with chronic pain. Never take suboxone more than 6 months if you do you will become dependent on it. It will stop working after you hit your ceiling. It stops working after about 5 years. You sweat uncontrollably mowing the lawn you will be drenched in sweat like you just took a shower. Constipation so bad you will have severe hemorrhoids. And possibly need surgery to remove. This is not for long term use. 6 months -12 months then get off of taller down get off of it. It’s just as addictive as the drugs you are taking. They are not being honest with folks. Read the writing and study it. It can save lives but as you stated it’s about the money. And they don’t care about patients. Just your money.
If anyone is thinking of using... just know its not worth it... even if u think. "Just this once wont hurt" its never just one. Then it becomes everyother day, on the weekends, and slowly its everyday. I was taking suboxone for a little over a year and had a minor relapse. But I messed up bc I stopped taking my suboxone to do this one drug and fell off for 3 weeks.... but now I started my suboxone again bc I felt like I was losing control of my life again. And on suboxone I was doing so good... so now I'm just gonna try to get back to my routine. The relapse. Was NOT WORTH IT.

Honestly I rather had kicked my Percocet habit cold turkey than going full blown off Suboxone a month ago the withdrawal was 10xs worse and it's months before you feel back to normal. It's the hardest, most mentally and physically painful withdrawal you can ever go thru. The first week It was literally hell. I fought tears , agony, anxiety, tremors, hot/cold flashes, insomnia, depression, stomach cramps, diarrhea and having absolutely no energy to get up at all. A month later withdrawals are gone but the after effects still linger I still can't sleep , the most I do is 1-2 hrs, then I'm restless, yet I gave still have no energy to do basics tasks. Please don't do Suboxone for a long period of time it blocks your natural endorphins, it gives teeth decay amongst many more problems.❤

I was on prescription hydrocodone for 20 years and around 2018 opioids suddenly became bad to prescribe so I asked Doc what to do. He suggested Suboxone. After 2 says w/o any hydrocodone I took Suboxone, and my mind felt like I was intoxicated but after that ok & it prevented opioid withdrawal.
Are you still on suboxone? I was just prescribed it to get off Percocets, but I don't feel like after reading all these comments that I should be on Suboxone and I should just weaned off the Oxycontin there sure are a lot of horror stories of Suboxone feeling worse to get off. Curous of your situation....
They need to do something about snorting the medication. No matter if you have strips or pills, you can snort them, and the bioavailability of the naloxone is so much lower than the buprenorphine, the medication ends up hitting a lot harder. The bioavailability of buprenorphine nasally through the mucus membrane its closer to 50%, vs sublingual witch is around 20%. This means people can abuse the medication and get high. I don't know how you could make it so it cant absorb through the mucus membrane in the nose, and still dissolve sublingually. Because sublingually its still using the mucus membranes in your mouth. People do this in jail. They dissolve suboxone strips in water and snort them, my friend told me about it in detail. The abuse of this isn't really being talked about much, but its happening a lot. I personally love this medication and it saved my life. I just think they should do something about the sublingual pills, and strips not being fully abuse proof.
Yes in prison snort or shoot it up. I did 4 years, and ran a big habit now I'm stuck on the injection on the outside now. It saved my life but it's also fucked it too. As I'm still not "clean" clean. But did get me off alcohol and OxyContin. It catches up on you that's for sure
Hey if you at insufflating buprenorphine and nalaxone- and espousing that it’s no good -maybe you belong on a different forum?? Ppl here CARE ABOUT GETTING WELL!!
Totally agree, I snort mine every day, but have not told Dr I do this. I’m in England and we don’t have the naloxone added, so it’s just bup, and after an hour of snorting, you do get a slight buzz, really trying to stop doing this coz I don’t think it lasts as long snorting, but you’re right, it’s snorted a lot more than addiction drs know about, cheers, Simon
If it is the combo Suboxone with the narcan in it, nothing will happen. No high. But if you are a chronic user of narcotics, injecting it will throw you into intense withdrawal. Don't do it. Even a chronic opioid user that takes the sublingual route can be thrown into withdrawl. Be warned.
I had doctors try to get me on suboxone to treat my pain. It was like they wanted to treat an opioid addiction instead of treating my pain. Needless to say I didn’t take the suboxone and stayed with the morphine and oxycodone.

@k Carson Hmmm. I'm being put on a buprenorphine patch for chronic worsening back pain after two nerve ablation, one steroid injection, and 6 months of dry needling failed to help. I'm slowly working up to full dosage. So far, after one month, I don't even know I'm taking it. Just got my new month of patches up from 5mcgm per hour to 10. How was it hell for you? My chief worry is that the maximum dose won't control my pain.
Ask for the Suboxone WITHOUT narcan. It's available. Some people are affected by the narcan, it's a genetic thing. I would feel like I was in mild withdrawl the first 3-4 hours after dosing. Once the narcan was metabolized out of my system, then the Suboxone/ buprenorphine kicked in. Get the formulation without the narcan.
My mother has been on methadone for at least 15 years and her doctor is switching her to suboxone. She was put on oxy first for back pain and it’s just progressed. She is definitely addicted to her meds and drinks heavily with her methadone. I wonder if this new medication will help. She almost unbearable to be around because of her medication and drinking.
I know many people who injected suboxone. I think it has more affinity than balcony because a lot of them don’t get any side effects, or if they do it’s very minor and short lived.
It’s not good for pain management. After 5 years it stops working. And then your teeth will start going bad. And you will lose your teeth. Also constipation is crazy. If it saves drug addicts lives that’s great but they are trying to push this on chronic pain patients. This worked for my brother who is a chronic pain patient. And he lost all his teeth after taking it. It took about 5-7 years for his teeth to start going bad. Because you out the med under your tounge. I see them trying to get the Veterans on this who gave pain. You will hit a ceiling effect and it will no longer work and your pain will get worse and you will be miserable I don’t know why they are pushing this drug. The damage it does long term for chronic pain patients. This worked really good for 5 years my brother felt good and then you get sweaty your body will get so sweaty your clothes will get wet like you just took a shower from mowing the lawn. This was never meant for pain management!! This was meant for short use time period 6 months and get off of it. If you don’t and you continue using you will lose all your teeth. The VA is pushing this on veterans. My brother is a veteran. I think it’s sick that they would push this on chronic pain patients
I know someone that has been prescribed this for chronic pain not for drug addiction....she has severe ankylosing spondylitis along with severe spinal degeneration. It is not working, is this common?
It's not the greatest medication for the treatment of chronic pain. In this case it really depends on the details of your friends case and why this medication was chosen by their doctor. Neuropathic pain does not respond all that well to opioids and the mechanism is thought to involve an inflammatory process which these medications do not target. I would talk to the doctor and explain what's going on

The morphine milligram equivalent conversion factor is 30. So 8 mg of buprenorphine is equivalent to 240 mg of morphine. But this is only one source and many of the other sources do not offer a MME for buprenorphine products. Hope this helps
I used to take 240mg Oxycodone a day. 8mg of Suboxone stopped my withdrawals instantly after waiting 3 days to start taking it. Bupernophine is STRONG. One of the the strongest and safest opioids. The patch is Mcg not Mg so you are only going to be getting up to half a milligram of Bupernophine.

In order to start suboxone we usually prefer the patient be in mild to moderate withdrawal prior to starting. We would want to have a COWs score of 11 or 12 before doing the induction. I'm speaking about this in terms of addiction treatment I'm not as familiar with pain management as it's not my speciality. The withdrawal symptoms should subside in 30 minutes or so after starting the subxone but some additional adjustments to the dose may be required over the first day. Hope this helps, if you haven't subscribed to the channel please do and spread the word about wha we are doing here.
Use gabapentin (prescription) to limit withdrawl off opioids. Anti nausea medication and antidiarrheals. If you can get a sleeper or a benzodiazepine for the two days of withdrawl, you will skate through it. You are still a little uncomfortable, but nothing like cold turkey without these supporting meds for the two days off opiates.
It can be difficult. I would recommend having the person prescribing the medication do an appropriate taper just to be safe. Best of luck and let me know if I can be of service in the future

I’ve also noticed that there is a major problem with generics. In Canada we allow + or - 20 % bioavailability w generic drugs. Well bupe only has 35% bioavailability in the first place! The only negative is the proven dental damage and tooth loss you mentioned. I tried everything. I’m 40 and need dentures but only on my lower teeth. But, better than having HIV or hep C. The implant is just a stupid excuse for patents imo
@@Italocanadese81 The dose of the implant is limited and will not work for most. I think buprenorphine has been a major game changer and I do agree quality control of generic mediations has been an issue lately
@@ShrinksInSneakers my theory is that there must be something about thebaine derived drugs (OxyCodone, Oxymorphone and Buprenorphine) that create a unique feeling that other opioids don’t. Methadone was this awful heavy feeling. OxyCodone, my drug of choice, gave me energy and then around 80mg or so I would get that typical nod. But the euphoria and energy was unlike any other opioid esp the way it improved my mood. When I went on Buprenorphine I had just tapered off methadone and was opioid naive as my goal was to try abstinence. I couldn’t do it and when I tried Buprenorphine it literally felt like OxyCodone used to for me. Except the euphoria wore off much faster. By the time I was at 24mg (a few months in) there was no more noticeable high. The improved mood and the craving control is still effective ten years in on 14mg. Methadone was like taking an opioid and getting only the negative side effects. I also experience no issues w Testosterone or constipation at my dose. Something about the thebaine alkaloid though. It produces much more stimulation than typical opioids. It’s also where the antagonists are derived from. So many heroin users don’t like Buprenorphine. The more tools the better.
This will not show on a standard UDS. If you are interested I'm thinking about covering everything you need to know about a UDS in the future. If you are being treated an an addiction clinic they do send the labs out and often test for buprenorphine and it's metabolites along with other things like synthetic opioids that are not seen on standard UDS screenings. Would Suboxone make a good pain management treatment substitute taken 8mg 4 times a day for a spinal cord injury patient that took tramadol 50mg and morphine er 30mg as prescribed?
Yes... I have moderate to severe spinal stenosis. The shots only work for a couple weeks to a month. 4-6 mg's of suboxone has done wonders for me. And it does not get you high. It keeps me in pain free mode for the most part. Unless I ride my bike a little too hard. But it works very well. I found out because I started to use fentanyl for pain since it was readily available. I quickly realized how dangerous this new powder fentanyl is. So I got suboxone to get off fentanyl, and what do you know it fixed my pain and my drug habit. And back pain is no joke. Just remember, you don't need the high dose when used for pain. I find 6mg's being the most needed. And I take it 3 times a day for pain. Or if I do 4 mg's I take it morning and evening. I just add a lunch when I do 6.
@@bluestrings8829 i have a spinal cord injury fused top to bottom back and was told it would help i am on the same dose 6 mgs 3 times a day and idk if it's my condition but i find it takes the edge off but roughly all it does for me unfortunately but it does do wonders for getting off opioids and serious substances that lead to addiction.

One thing I disagree with is that anecdotally people report Naloxone doesn't do anything intravenously because it has lower binding affinity than buprenorphine. So it doesnt stop abuse, just scare away people who aren't deeper into the topic

Somebody please try to give me advice I need to get back on my anxiety meds on get off this suboxone. It did it’s job don’t get me wrong but time to move on! Please any feedback would be highly appreciated!
18 years on Xanax or any benzo is a long time. Have you been off the full 5 years that you've been on suboxone? I would slowly taper lower to 1mg. If you go back to benzos keep it to no more then 2 times a week. Or maybe 3. Klonopin (not only are they easily available) it has a long half life so you'd be good.
@@bluestrings8829 this is also a very difficult time for anyone w/an anxiety disorder to go off their meds. Most psychs know that this time has caused terrible anxiety in huge numbers of people who didn’t have it prior. I feel bad that this guy’s doc made that decision. Sounds like a new psych w/some empathy is in order.
I would go back to the doctor who is prescribing the medications and explain the symptoms. In some cases the taper has be conducted very slowly over months and possibly years to avoid significant complications. If there are signs of withdrawal the dose should be increased and then reattempt the tapper at a much slower rate. I feel like it's the doctors responsibility who was prescribing the medication to help with a proper tapper. Hope this helps
It's fine the only reason naloxone is added is to reduce the potential of abuse by crushing snorting, or injecting the medication. It's usually reserved for pregnant patients. Hope this helps, if you haven't subscribed to the channel please do and spread the word about what we are doing here.
The half life is great for pain, but tapering off Bup is no joke. I'm on day 66. It's great for pain, but I would use something else. It can be the devil to get away from.
@@rickp3753oh NO!! that is so discouraging please tell me more - what was your daily sub dose? i’m down to 3 mg-but i’ve heard the last mg is the most difficult to give up
You didn’t mention any other side effects. It causes me to have insomnia and edema. I’ve had sleepwalking that’s caused me to fall and injure myself badly. Once breaking my nose and cheekbone. I was forced off medication working very well for pain and onto this drug all because of the DEA forcing doctors to stop writing prescriptions for opioids. Also tolerance comes on quickly and if any pain relief dwindles quickly as well. I won’t even go into the problems if you have to have surgery wile taking this drug. I was a chronic pain patient forced into addiction treatment.
Great information! Question though, I never get straight answers for dosing my medication. I take sublingual tablets, do I press my tongue down on the tablet once I set it under my tongue? I’ve heard some people say to clamp your tongue down on it, others say to avoid it with your tongue. Then I’ve even read just to place medication under tongue and then just relax your tongue. So I’m being pulled in different ways and always experimenting because my tablets take FOREVER to dissolve. Please help lol thanks
This is a good question, When you take a sublingual medication its absorbed directly in the blood stream and bypass hepatic metabolism. It should not matter if you press the tongue on the tab. I personally prefer the film strip I think it dissolves better and has better bioavailability but insurance can get in the way. Unfortunately it's not recommended to crush, chew, or swallow the sublingual tablet. See if the film is an option with your doctor and watch for overmedicating as the higher bioavailability may require a dose adjustment when switching to the film.
@@richardburnette5151 exactly, the slower the better. Try not to move it, just leave it there and let it slooowly release. Get much more out of the medication. Tbh, at least 15 mins, but i would go 20 to 30.
It want get you high like heroin that's for sure, this chemicals are pure poison! Think of your body and mind, health overall , sub will just fuck upp your life more. A hellish nightmare! If you don't have used it for long you should really think about what you are getting in to. Much love from Norway
This information isn’t accurate anymore. People shoot or smoke suboxone all the time. Turns out the naloxone doesn’t quite work when suboxone is diverted thanks to the N dopamine or something. Also, the suboxone shot is way more common now and it has helped many get off the subs. I know someone who changed from Long term methadone to subs then the shot and now she’s off it all. The shot has been working wonders by what I hear. But anyway in jail they divert the subs all the time and they love it so it definitely gets them high.
If suboxone works well for pain management why aren’t people being prescribed it for acute conditions? Are they giving suboxone post surgery? In the ER for broken bones?
It's more in chronic pain with comorbid opioid use disorder but honestly I'm not a big fan for pain. I would say opioids are best reserved for short term acute pain as you stated for surgery or acute injuries. Even in those cases if you can avoid using opioids even better.
@@ShrinksInSneakers the unfortunate thing is Dr are prescribing it for chronic pain patients who haven’t shown any signs of opioid use disorder. They just want to change medication for the sake of changing it.
@@ShrinksInSneakers hi there! Would you happen to know the ceiling effect of buprenorphine? Like what dose do you think in mgs is max for the receptors? Thx.
@@dereks1848 I actually went over this with my provider today! It levels out quickly between 18-24mg after that the opioid receptors can’t be stimulated much more 32mg would be the max as nothing beyond that would do much of anything
I had a implant once that worked great in about 5 months ! Unfortunately I ended back on suboxone and I don't remember what I had implanted but it worked worked no withdrawals & the tablet dissolves in about 3 months. This was to get off of oxys not suboxone. I'm not sure if it works the same way for suboxone. I would pay for that instead of tapering off suboxone !
It’s unfortunate. Sometimes I wish they never put me on it, but I know I’d be dead had I not. It did save my life and marriage. And that was from breaking my back with 10 years of narcotic medication dependence. Too much oxycodone and morphine over 10 years. Just wish I was off it all now. It’s expensive for Dr visits and medication. But beats dying when you have allot to live for. Good luck folks!

Hi Doc great explanation question I really don't get any physical withdrawals from opiates but the mental side of crushing Omen snorting own and doing them is just like lodged in my mind does Suboxone help with that and part 2 the question if I'm taking 120 mg of opiates a day how much Suboxone do you think would help
Without a full clinical evaluation and honestly me doing the induction of suboxone, I can’t really say for sure what dose is required. I find many people level out around 8-24 mg/day. Like I said in the video the goal is to have no cravings and no withdrawal symptoms. I believe subxone can help and like I said it’s harm reduction. Please subscribe to channel if you haven’t already and spread the word about what we are doing. Also check out the Instagram page as I’m now posting daily content there.
My good person all you will need is 2 milligrams twice a day... 2 mg floods over 80% of the MU receptors is why most people don't get withdrawals when they reduce to 2 mg but have a really hard time when they get under that
In the U.S. the regulation surrounding methadone is a real pain in the butt. Only qualified centers can distribute methadone for OUD but in pain management it can be prescribed without issue. For me buprenorphine is probably a little safer and a little easier to use in the U.S. but I agree in the UK I recall a 2012 paper that showed improved adherence and outcomes with methadone. Both work and it comes down to what works best for the individual patient
I keep hearing people say that you have to go to the clinic daily to get methadone, but not for suboxone. Here in Canada they are treated the same way. You have to have clean urine samples for a month to recieve a take home dose of both suboxone or methadone. I have all my take home methadone doses and only have to go to clinic once per week. You gain one take home for every month of clean samples provided for both substances. Only differnce it the naloxone in the sub, that blocks your receptors.
Initially we like to see people more frequently until they are stable. With any controlled substance you need to be careful prescribing given all the government regulations. I don't have a hard and fast rule about when and how much to offer as take homes but I do want to be sure I know the person well and have some objective measures indicating they are consistent with the medication. Hope this helps
it's interesting how you said you never prescribe Subutex (Buprenorphine alone without Naloxone) for people to take home, cos I live in UK and i'm on 12mg daily of Subutex and I collect once a week, but i pass my drug urine tests every time as I of course don't ever use heroin anymore, although i do use cocaine powder once a week, which my prescribers know about and occasionally shows up on the urine tests.
time 16:01 withdrawal is definitely possible? No, it is not just "possible", it is guaranteed to happen!! , it is 100% going to happen without question or possibility. Plus along with methadone, Buprenorphine will be the longest and most painful withdrawal experience you will ever endure, in your life making heroin withdrawal look like mosquito bite at a picnic
Even with a slow taper? How long were you in subs or still on? I been on them for a week now. But I want to not be on it long term I’m just trying to get rid of my methadone withdrawals I been on 60mg and 1mg xan for 14 years. This last week has been the worst withdrawals I have ever had in my life. I always hear the sub withdrawals horror stories tho. But I see many people going to low .5mg tapers and finally get off. I guess it all depends on the person?
I know someone that got the implant. It worked for approximately six months and had to be replaced. When they put the impant in thry told him that some patients dont find a need for it to be replaced anand so thats what he was hoping for. Unfortunetly that wasnt the case and he now regrets getting it. It is an invasive surgery after all
The implant is not a good option for most people. It's invasive and limited in terms of dosing. I've never seen anyone on it. Look out for an upcoming short that I'm doing about sublocade which I do like just don't like the cost

I didn’t know if it was working so I bought lower dose of fetty to stop the withdrawals. I still feel slight withdrawals and no high off the fetty. Will it mess with my detox and make withdrawals worst ?
It’s all in your head. You took 8 mg of suboxone. Then You took the fentanyl and the suboxone blocked it, and the suboxone is still in your system. You just don’t realize it. I injected fentanyl and heroin daily for 20 years, and I can get well off 4 to 8 MG. Suboxone doesn’t get you high, or make you feel anything at all, besides withdrawal relief. Because of the ceiling effect. One time I took 60 subs at one time, they were subutex so I shot them up. and it felt the same as taking one. If you wanna get clean, take subs once or twice a day, and relax. Get out of the pill seeking lifestyle. Don’t hang out with people who use. (I could be wrong I don’t know how long you’ve used for) but I remember in the first 2 years of me shooting you fentanyl and heroin daily, I didn’t even get sick when I stopped, I thought I was sick, I cried like I was sick, and I thought it was withdrawal, but really I was just wanting more. Anxiety, cravings, insomnia, and discomfort, aren’t true sickness. If you keep doing this, you’ll end up like me, if I go through withdrawal I can die. I’ve had many seizures, my blood pressure goes in the 200,s and I don’t eat, sleep, or drink water for days at a time. I can’t walk (like really can’t walk, I can try my hardest and fall over like an old man) If I get sick I truly think I may die. I hallucinate, and go crazy. But in the beginning of addiction, it’s just cravings and being uncomfortable, which will end on 1 to 2 weeks. be careful, it gets a million times worse. Get out now while you still can.

But, 0.5 mg fills about 60% of avaliable receptors, 1 mg fills about 80% and 16 mg fills about %95. A linear increase in dosage produces a logarithmic increase in effectiveness, meaning even the highest dose is only a bit stronger than the typical dose.

I just started suboxone yesterday because my doctor wants me off the pain medication. I’ve been on it for a LONG TIME now… I had an accident in 2002 that flipped my world upside down. I don’t plan on taking suboxone a long time. My plan is to take it for a few weeks…If I can take it long enough to prevent withdrawals, yet not long enough to be dependent on the suboxone at the same time! I’m taking quarters of my 8mg pill… I dont want to take it for a long period of time. I just want to take it long enough to get me off opiates. I’ve seen people take it for years, but I don’t think this should be a long term medication. I can take 2mg and it makes me SO SLEEPY!! BUT I feel great! It’s helping with the pain… I do think it’d be better for short term recovery though. If I don’t take it long, then I won’t get physically dependent on that too!! Has anyone else done this? I’m curious about this method. I’m confident that it will work… I just have to take as little as possible to get me through this process. Different people need different techniques, and I applaud everyone who’s getting off prescribed drugs and illicit drugs. Everyone’s different and that’s why I don’t like it when people judge others. I don’t expect people to do it the same way as me. IF I’m successful though, it may be a breakthrough experiment! I just wish I didn’t get so sleepy from it! 😂
Addiction treatment has not been the best over the years. we all need to do better to reduce the stigma and offer these treatments as we would any other medical treatment. In the U.S. the X waiver which was required to prescribe suboxone in the past has been eliminated hopefully opening the door for increased access to treatment. Appreciate the comment
Good point, I have seen some studies out of Europe where it works well. I think most doctors will not prescribe it for that reason here in the U.S. so I left it off the video but it's important to think about for sure
What about the chronic pain that the Suboxone doesn’t take care of your OK with your patience suffering whatever happened to first do no harm main goal in your life is to make sure there’s no addiction would you rather have your patient addicted to opioids and able to live a normal life then be in chronic pain and barely able to get out of bed pick a or B I know I’m not saying pick what’s best for you because we know what’s best for you not your patient
Why r u so mad? Take your opioids suboxone isn’t for you, it’s for long term opiod addiction, you are most likely dependent, and btw I take suboxone and it helps my carnivore back and neck pain more than cannabis or Kratom
A few points refuted by a drug user: Injecting it does not in fact cause withdrawal to be precipitated, no feelings of the nalexone whatsoever, this is I’m sure very harmful for the veins though. And strong enough heroin and fentanyl can easily ‘blow through’ the suboxone, getting you high regardless of the bupe already in your system.
Hope this gets removed he is a salesman for a addictive drug with a lot of ifs to justify, people with this mindset are hurting people. Is this not what started the oxy issue to start with or the prohibition on alcohol.
There's lots of people who bang them and they love it Idk because when I was using I did it and it didn't make me sick but I didn't get anything off of it. I had to take another by mouth to get feeling better still so Idk why they do it.
In some cases people feel that buprenorphine improves their mood. In some cases people are looking to just avoid withdrawal and buprenorphine is available. Either way we need to be mindful of the potential for abuse, but it's certainly not an issue for everyone. You don’t know Psychopharmacology then. It’s a horrible drug. Prescribe Kratom. It got me off all opiates. Including Suboxone a trash drug.

Just got prescribed this for Chronic pain, been on pain meds for 10+ years, the bup isn’t great for pain. But I understand the concept.
You aren’t technically on an opiate when on suboxone. You are on an opioid

Also you feet will swell up ankles will swell up and another side effect is migraines. My brother had all the side effects hit him after 5 years.

What will happen if a person inject Buprenorphine?
If it is the combo Suboxone with the narcan in it, nothing will happen. No high. But if you are a chronic user of narcotics, injecting it will throw you into intense withdrawal. Don't do it. Even a chronic opioid user that takes the sublingual route can be thrown into withdrawl. Be warned.

Best to let it dissolve slowly whatever you have to do to do that.
Just leave it under your tongue i guess and give it time to dissolve

My good person all you will need is 2 milligrams twice a day... 2 mg floods over 80% of the MU receptors is why most people don't get withdrawals when they reduce to 2 mg but have a really hard time when they get under that
One Suboxone 8 mg film is equivalent to 160 mg of oxycodone or 240 mg of hydrocodone/morphine
@@greenthumbstrummer exactly!!!! That 8/24 mg a day comment had me thinking is he just reading information off the internet 🤣
120 mg hahahaha omg pa 120mg bilo čega je mnogo ali mnogo , uzmes lepo 8mg buprenorfina i to je to ...
Subs make you feel like your going insane the first 3 or 4 days you start to take it. Here in UK, Methadone is still ahead of subs.
In the U.S. the regulation surrounding methadone is a real pain in the butt.
Why do you use coke once a week ...to party

withdrawal is definitely possible?
How long does Suboxone stay in your system
I also want to know
@@michelleduplooymalherbe2837 It has a VERY long half life of 37 hours. Only half is gone in 37 hours. I tapered off 8mg strips after 16 years. The half life is so long you can forget to take them one day or two, and you wouldn't feel symptoms. I'm on day 66 sub free and it took a while for me to sleep.
@@rickp3753 ok thanks but also did you have any other withdrawl symptoms and over what time period did you taper off, I want to do it cause i am scared that one day I might not beable to get them (I live in Africa) what worries me more than the physical pains etc. are the depression and irritation that I get - now that you have said that I am wondering if it is not phsyco somatic, I am on 2mg and sometimes even when I am asleep it is as if my brain sends me a message that I have to take my pill and then often it has not even been 24hrs - our bodies are so strange.....
@@rickp3753 forgot to tell you I just feel out of sorts, if I do not take one pill every 24hrs like I said I am starting to think it is all in the mind now that you say the half life is so long

So basically getting hooked on another drug just to leave a drug alone 😂
I was take pain pill is it ok to take this to help me off the pills
It has been used in that capacity by pain management clinics. I would get connected with a good pain management specialist to see if it's an option.
I prescribe it for pain, it hasn’t helped at all.
I’m struggling real hard fighting withdrawals from fetynal . I was only 24 hour sober and than I took 8mg of suboxone as soon as I got out of jail .
Trust me, what your feeling right now is nothing… it’s just mild discomfort…. Get out now while you can. God bless you bro
@@tanieldillman476 thanks for the feedback I never done heroin or anything like this before first time in my life I really can’t stop due to the fact my body became co dependent on it
@@Babyflippa2x I feel your pain, How long have you been using opiates for? I ask because sometimes we mistake discomfort and cravings for true withdrawal.
I'm on 16mg sublingual for 5 years and I think I have kind of a backpain or kidney pain. AND TOOTHDECAY! My tooth broke just like that and it was hollow. I always had healthy teeth before.
Subs are bad for your kidneys for sure and opiates in general can rot your teeth
Is this pain reliever slow release?
No, it set in 30 minutes last for 6 to 8 hours at a lower dose from my experience.. Suboxone film. 2 mg
I just went from strips to pills n I don't feel good I caught covid at the same time I thought that was why but it's been a month now n I still feel bad wth idk what to think or do ...I feel depressed dread n doom headache woozy irritable tired n I don't feel like doing anything n my concentration sucks
They have people on way too high of a dose. 16mg a day, my lord. 0.5mg suboxone is equal to approx 15mg of morphine. Nobody needs 16 mg a day.
But, 0.5 mg fills about 60% of avaliable receptors, 1 mg fills about 80% and 16 mg fills about %95. A linear increase in dosage produces a logarithmic increase in effectiveness, meaning even the highest dose is only a bit stronger than the typical dose.
I really don't understand why anyone needs to take more than 8 mg in a day ever
Not sure but I see it all the time. Appreciate the comment, if you haven't subscribed to the channel please do and spread the word about what we are doing here
I really agree with this and this is something that needs to change in the larger culture as a whole. And also for the record I had to have every single one of my teeth replaced
Why do u say that?
@@ShrinksInSneakers bro can suboxone start ed and urination problems ?
But they give out espanol now and also in UK they want us to cluck for 24 hours from methodone before they switch us .
Please answer me why I sleep all the time and can't eat food anymore. I have 20 mg buprenorfin. And I have cravings, i dream about heroin
What about the use in resistant depression?
Good point, I have seen some studies out of Europe where it works well. I think most doctors will not prescribe it for that reason here in the U.S. so I left it off the video but it's important to think about for sure
God blessing be upon you

Just used kratom
It’s a natural plant
Not synthetic
I take Belbucca for pain. ,fibromyalgia Doesn’t work all that great but works as well as anything else.
Good to hear that you found a treatment that is effective, best of luck with everything
worst thing for you warning, will make your life a living hell
Chronic*
Exactly
Look. I’ve never put a needle in my arm. I do have chronic pain. I’ve been on suboxone FOR PAIN THANKS FOR THE EXTRA STIGMA AS THE HOSPITALS DO AS WELL
You are putting judgement onto others. You and I are no better than anyone else- why are you so bothered or feel a "stigma"?
You don’t have to put a needle in your arm to be an opiate addict, maybe instead of coming here and stereotyping addicts you should educate yourself first, you my friend are part of the problem, you are the reason there is stigma!
God bless you
thanks for watching
he has subs all wrong, how ong have you been on them, cause you have no idea
The brain become so out of balance when popping subs for years. I almost don't remember two last months, and i aren't even clean. I converted to dolcontine oktober last year. Subs are tens of times more powerful as a painkiller, and it don't get you high, after a few years of use you probably just feeling crappy and not in tune with who you are.
