9:40 I'm using a Fold 3, I had the first one, then a 3, then a 4 that I broke and now I got a 3 again because I found it for ridiculously cheap in mint condition, it does everything I need it to, and honestly the 4, 5 and 6 aren't real upgrades. It's been used for 2 years before me, and now I used it for almost a year, it is perfect, no problems except the mediocre battery life and not too bright displays, but I rarely go out so no real problems there 😅 In conclusion I can never go back to a normal phone, folds are too cheap now, you can get a Fold 5 rn for like 700-800 euros, which is ridiculous for what you're getting.

And the iPhone + ipad combo he had costs $500 less (counting the new generation today). Two devices for less than one. For the price of ONE base foldable from samsung you are $100 off from iPhone Pro + iPad Pro. It's a scam device for everyone except those with too much money to burn. If they priced it closer to the s24u price mark it would be better, but at the current price it's insane. (And in my country it costs even more at $2200)

The Galaxy fold is a premium 2-in-1 product, not a replacement for an affordable dedicated device. Not everyone wants their tablet to be their phone as well.

I bought a used zfold 4 on Amazon factory Unlocked 512 GB for about 500 dollars. I've had no problems with it. Treat it reasonably nice and keep it clean and you wont have any either.. It is an awesome phone...
I am an iPhone user. I have iPhone 13 mini and recently bought the Samsung z fold 6. The z fold is great. I only use it for media consumption. iPhone 13 mini is my main phone. Z fold is an amazing fold but I don’t think I can have it as my main device only.

I did something similar. My wife got ill, and I had to work while she was in the hospital. I was able to leave behind my laptop, iPhone, and iPad and just use my Z Fold 6 for everything. I can't go back.

Good overview. As an apple user, i agree theSamsung fold is compelling, but I’ll wait for Apple’s version which I think will be more aesthetically pleasing. i just think the Fold is ugly and that crease….no way.
Really hope we see a fold similar to this from Apple soon. I doubt we will, because, well that would take innovation, but if someone that has actually tried foldable and lives in the Apple ecosystem, I see the definite value and would buy one day one.

My wife's Fold 4 inner screen lasted only 2 years. She did not often use the inner screen because we know that it is not going to last long like normal screen.

What about a case for the Samsung Fold 6 to protect it? I only see „naked“ phones in review videos but in real life, everybody uses a case for their smartphones. Sometimes one can even identify the case manufacturer as some of the case companies have become famous themselves and not only the smartphone companies. Additionally, screen protectors are also very popular and used often. You can tell if you look closely that some are not applied perfectly, that‘s when you know it‘s a screen protector.
Hey Sam, I think the Honor also has a stylus. It would be awesome if you could try it out too. Test it like you usually do, maybe with some note-taking apps and more. As an iPad user, I’m sure most iPad users would be interested in seeing how it works with the stylus and how it compares to the apps that support it.
I thought the same thing until I saw how thick the cases made the phone. If you don't use a case, it's fine, but I wasn't gonna risk that. For that reason, I sent it back.
First off, you will be impressed by the Honor V3 hardware and battery life, but I'm confident you will still prefer the Z Fold 6 because it has better software and arguably a better camera.
I took a step into the foldable and got the Honor Magic V3. It has converted me. The usefulness of the foldable with multi windows, emails and just scrolling. But the closed screen also helps. I am hoping to try the Fold 6 and the Google Pro Fold. Try them and let us know.
I think this is the kind of device I'll move to, but they're not perfected yet. Still very expensive, and there are still quality concerns about the inner screen. But I think this can be the future of mobile phones.
I would love the fold if it was cheaper and I didn't have what I already had with me. IF i need to replace my phone, it won't be a fold because i have a tablet in hand but the 2-in-1 use case, this could be useful. I would love an Ultra-level Fold with good cameras, an S-Pen silo , a headphone jack because well, i still would like one, a microSD card slot and about the same form factor as their current fold. that would be gold to me.
Love my fold 5. The only problem was that it lasted only 14 months. Inner screen obviously, but I don't work in an environment that suits a delicate foldable phone. Going back to normal phone, not because I want to but because i have to.

Couldn’t agree more with everything you said in your video, I’ve had my Fold 6 for the past 4 months and been loving it coming from a lifelong iPhone user! Luckily I work for Amazon and through the Employee Purchase Program with Samsung was able to get the 512gb (upgraded from 256gb for free) after trade in (very dated IPhone XS Max for $700 lol) came out to $915 instead of almost $2500!! 😅 Honestly why I gave android a shot because the price was a no brainer, now I can’t see myself going back after being spoiled by this glorious giant screen! I will say I wish the hardware was on par with the Honor Magic V3, that thing looks like the Fold 6 on steroids lol. I wish we could get Chinese phones here in the US, I’m so jelly!!! 😭 Excitedly awaiting your Magic V3 review, I’ve already seen so many and know you’re going to love it. Admittedly the only thing you might not be crazy about is the software/ UI compared to Samsung’s as you mentioned but honestly I might be willing to make the compromise if I had the option lol.
Fold 6 is incredibly cheap in Indonesia since Samsung phones always suffered serious price drop after 2-3 months from being released. 12/256 gig version is around 1.3k, nearly half which shown in the video since it’s aussie price
The Z Fold 6 (and other large form factor foldables) are pretty great but then again you can nearly buy 2 13 Minis and 2 iPad Mini 7s at the same time for the price of 1 Z Fold 6 and most likely than not, will not outlive those 2 Apple Devices due to the unpredictable lifespan of Foldables. Since the release of the Z Fold 4, I’ve had friends who have jumped on the Foldable bandwagon. Most of the are back to using regular slab phones now because they either broke or have since sold them because it became too cumbersome to use day to day. My sole colleague who still has her Flip 5 has this ugly gash on the middle of her display (which probably broke over time due to normal wear and tear). It still works but she has pretty much sworn never to buy another Foldable again. This comment is not to scare off any potential Foldable customers but to provide insight and hopefully help enlighten those who may want to take the leap at this stage.
I‘m discussing this already in another comment thread, but I‘m really really curious to learn how many years foldable smartphones can hold up compared to the „normal“ smartphones. As I said, I know many people who still use their smartphones daily for several years already. Have a look at the other comment where we talk about more details.
@@paulhorn24 My wife's Fold 4 inner screen lasted just over 2 years , it is a waste of money. She did not misuse it and in fact only used the inner screen if only necessary knowing the fragility of the screen.
Did you manage to try Pixel fold? There's a plus to take it into account : Privacy. GrapheneOS can be used in pixel fold as well. Good video! I did exactly the same comparison after buying a foldable phone.

I literally bought a Z Fold instead of an iPad Mini + iPhone a few years ago. I'm now on the Fold 5. The only thing I'm left wanting is for DeX to run directly on the inner display like the Tab series can.
Great video. But when Dex rules is combined with e.g. the Xreal glasses. make the background black and you have a hud with a lot of power. It is amazing! My usecase of the fold 6 is using as a phone, tabled and with Xreal I have an amazing display and head up display.
The used price of Fold 2-5 fall off a cliff, I'm worried about buying these due to the infamous glue of the inside brush degrading and making the phones unable to open fully. The brushes works on keeping dust and sand from breaking your screen yes, but those brushes also can break your screen, jamming your hinge. I think I saw Fold 6 abandon the brush in Jerry rig videos, so right now, I choose to buy a cheap tablet ie Xiaomi Tab 6 and buy the Fold 6 or Fold SE when their price fall off in 2-3 years.
Agree, I never buy first generations of a new technology or mechanism or the like because those buyers are mostly Guinea Pigs for the manufacturers. Those customer discover all the faults and problems of the first generations and they don’t get compensated for the loss of value of those „Introductory Products“. So never buy those products used / refurbished!

you can change the background to be transparent for widgets of samsung calendar and samsung apps. It makes them look so much better
Samsung needs to step up their DEX game, for real. And maybe release a premium 8 inch tablet while they're at it.

Samsung Dex came out first but if they don’t improve it Apple will beat them and have a better stage manager experience / desktop like experience.

I totally agree about the price. Idk about trade in valves are outside of the states but I got my fold 6 with 512 gb for $467 after trade in.
The S pen is indeed really useful when editing photos. And really comes in handy when signing documents on the go.

The fold is just a 1000.00 damage screen . I did exactly that with my Apple devices and I love it. I text with the mini and I view with the iPad.

Samsung fold software is unbeatable at the moment.
The z fold 6 is an emulation beast, samsung dex with emulation is amazing along with a gamesir or your choice of controller. Dex is underrated imo

The Z Fold 6 (and other large form factor foldables) are pretty great but then again you can nearly buy 2 13 Minis and 2 iPad Mini 7s at the same time for the price of 1 Z Fold 6 and most likely than not, will not outlive those 2 Apple Devices due to the unpredictable lifespan of Foldables.
Since the release of the Z Fold 4, I’ve had friends who have jumped on the Foldable bandwagon. Most of the are back to using regular slab phones now because they either broke or have since sold them because it became too cumbersome to use day to day. My sole colleague who still has her Flip 5 has this ugly gash on the middle of her display (which probably broke over time due to normal wear and tear). It still works but she has pretty much sworn never to buy another Foldable again.
This comment is not to scare off any potential Foldable customers but to provide insight and hopefully help enlighten those who may want to take the leap at this stage.

I‘m discussing this already in another comment thread, but I‘m really really curious to learn how many years foldable smartphones can hold up compared to the „normal“ smartphones.
As I said, I know many people who still use their smartphones daily for several years already. Have a look at the other comment where we talk about more details.
@@paulhorn24 My wife's Fold 4 inner screen lasted just over 2 years , it is a waste of money. She did not misuse it and in fact only used the inner screen if only necessary knowing the fragility of the screen.

Did you manage to try Pixel fold? There's a plus to take it into account : Privacy. GrapheneOS can be used in pixel fold as well.

Great video. But when Dex rules is combined with e.g. the Xreal glasses. make the background black and you have a hud with a lot of power. It is amazing!
My usecase of the fold 6 is using as a phone, tabled and with Xreal I have an amazing display and head up display.
I have XREAL.. why didn’t I use it with fold in this video lol. Yeah xreal and dex is mental.
The used price of Fold 2-5 fall off a cliff, I'm worried about buying these due to the infamous glue of the inside brush degrading and making the phones unable to open fully.
The brushes works on keeping dust and sand from breaking your screen yes, but those brushes also can break your screen, jamming your hinge.
I think I saw Fold 6 abandon the brush in Jerry rig videos, so right now, I choose to buy a cheap tablet ie Xiaomi Tab 6 and buy the Fold 6 or Fold SE when their price fall off in 2-3 years.
Agree, I never buy first generations of a new technology or mechanism or the like because those buyers are mostly Guinea Pigs for the manufacturers. Those customer discover all the faults and problems of the first generations and they don’t get compensated for the loss of value of those „Introductory Products“. So never buy those products used / refurbished!
