    Following suit of the other manufacturers Nissan has discontinued their hatchbacks like the Nissan Micra, and the Nissan Versa Note. This is my first car that I have seen launched and discontinued. In the video I discuss my experience with the micra, the life span, and how it came to this point of being discontinued.

    I'm annoyed that car companies think all people want an SUV. No we don't. I have a 2015 SV Micra and love it. $45 FILLS my gas tank, I can drive from Sarnia to North Bay and still have 2 bars of gas. Customer replaceable parts are cheap and easy to install, tires are cheap.
    I'm a large guy and I find it surprisingly roomy for a tiny car. The only downside I see with it is it doesn't "audio" warn you when it's low on gas, the back seat has no lighting and the trunk hatch cover is badly designed.
    I think Nissan is making a horrible mistake by ending it.

    bought a 2018 micra in May 2018, now January 2021 and I still have it. Great little car, great leg room and head room. Very easy on gas and very comfortable on longer trips (BC to Saskatchewan). Love the standard transmission and basic features (hand cranked windows, manual door locks). Never been a fan of AC, so don't miss it. I intend to keep this car for a long time to come.

    I just bought one today, a white 2019 Nissan Micra S automatic brand new. My American friends keep saying wish they could get it there lol. Canadian exclusive, would have bought a 2020 but sadly it will no longer be available. It is still in production as 2020 model year for markets in South America only.

    I bought a 2015 Micra S right when they first appeared in the Canadian market. I still own it and to this day feel it's a great car for the money. Because I was so pleased with it, I have been loyal to the Nissan brand ever since, with three more Nissan brand new vehicles added. I am sad to see the Micra go. I think Nissan made a mistake canceling it.

    I owned 2 micras when I lived in the UK. Very popular over there still. Great little cars. Cheap to buy and run. A little too small for North America. Nissan Canada should bring the new Versa sedan up from the US or drop the price on the new Sentra to get people in the door.

    Micra has no infotainment & safety shield. Few young people will bite.
    I will say this. With that old 4-speed automatic I see a Nissan of old that could easily last 15-20 years if taken care of.
    Yes the newer Micra sold in Asia & Europe has more to offer. But it does not enjoy the rest seat headroom of this generation.

    We own a 2015 micra with almost 150000klm on it. The SV model has everything you need. Extremely reliable we have only done x1 set of brakes and x1 tuneup nothing else has ever gone wrong. Evertreck tires on it. Runs great in both summer and winter 1599 c.c engine more than enough power even with automatic very very economical to run and very roomy. If this ever dies will look for the same model and buy it !

    I recently got a 2015 S because of overall vehicle costs to own. Great little car to scoot about in. I'm over 6 ft tall too, and there is enough room for me. I might scour wrecking yards for Bluetooth radio/control set and other parts. Having many controls manual has been awesome. 1970's luxury! Automatic, Cruise and A/C! :)

    Honestly if only Nissan Canada was smart and wanted to get a new Micra instead of the K14, and still maintain the Micra market as a low budget entry offer since this was what Nissan Canada was originally targeting the purpose of bringing the Micra here. They could’ve waited for two more years and gotten this updated face-lifted version of the Mexican March K13 imported to Canada instead of discontinuing it. And I agree with your point because if Nissan Micra was really a success over here, there shouldn’t be any reason for it to be discontinued at all. Biggest mistake Nissan has made! Even after they had replaced it with the new 2021 Versa Sedan, funny enough I barely even see those being driven around my area compared to the Micra.

    • @carsunlocked
      @carsunlocked  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My family has always been with Nissan since the early 90’s so I am brand loyal. My first car was a new 2015 Micra SV and it was great. Reliable, zippy, great for city driving and parking, to name a few great things about it.
    One of the best cars in so many ways. I am 6ft tall and my dad is 6’2” and we could both fit in the car with no issues, had just enough space to fit things I needed to fit and it was great for me while as a student, given my parents bought it for me. Had it for a solid 5 years and now I upgraded to the new 2020 Sentra SV a few weeks ago. If I hadnt gotten the deal I got on the Sentra, I would gladly have kept the Micra for even longer.
    Definately sad to see it go, it was a very well thought out, well designed car. I think it did great and did it’s job, but unfortunately SUV’s have taken over the market so much so that Sedans and Hatchbacks are becoming more scarce in sales.

    I bought a Micra acenta UK it was a 2014 pre reg with just 7 miles on the clock I had it serviced at a Nissan dealer every 12 months when the car reached 3 years old 14000 miles the tyres looked a bit shabby so I took it to an independant tyre fitter for two new front tyres they said they could not align the rear wheels there was a something was wrong with the rear beam axle I took it back to the Nissan dealer who said after inspecting it that the rear beam axle was faulty , note faulty not damaged that was the reason this car was sold as a pre reg Nissan were fully aware of the fault at the end of the production line but instead of sending a vehicle back to have a faulty part replaced Nissan and all car makers pass these faulty cars onto the customer as a pre reg and the customer thinks they are getting a bargain THAT fault cost me £1017.00 I had to pay the nissan dealer to replace the faulty part that was fitted at the factory BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ARE OFFERED A NEW PRE REG CAR CHANCES ARE IT HAS A FAULT FROM THE FACTORY THAT WILL COST YOU DEAR . Why don't they bring in the replacement Micra that has been available for the past 2 years? This one stopped production ages ago! For that matter, are we going to get the NEW Versa Sedan? Nissan Canada has a MAJOR marketing issue, along with a major dealership issue...AND a product issue! Until they resolve all of those, people like myself, who like the product available in the States, WILL NOT buy here....it is KIA instead.....I would have liked a Kicks until I saw the dealer markup...I bought a Soul instead! $30,000.00 for a Kicks? ...I don't think so!
