It's now been a year with my 2019 Micra bought new and I love the quirky look and it's power to weight ratio having the same engine but being lighter than the Versa Note. The old school 4 speed automatic is way more reliable than the CVT.

It's sad that Nissan decided not to move forward with the Versa Note for 2020. Hopefully they will bring the European version Micra to North America which combines these 2 vehicles quite well in my opinion.

I love how they left the CVT out on Micra but they put the CVT on all of the Nissan sold in America!
Yea here it's ever car but the Micra
Thankfully they put a much more reliable 4-speed auto in the Micra. CVT's are built to provide the manufacturer better fuel economy numbers to meet CAFE standards set by the Americans. Terrible tranny's. If they break, you need to replace the whole thing. If you have one of these now, better make sure to be VERY regular in your maintenance of it, or it will break.
Do they have similar driving dynamics/manners and comfort on the road city or highway?
no they r quite different. I prefer the drive of the versa better

The versa will have quite a bit more passenger volume
Personally I'd take the Micra automatic over the Versa Note CVT. I know which will last longer.

@@carsunlocked Nissan CVTs transmissions are notorious for breaking prematurely.
Next minute they're gonna replace these two subcompact with another one in Canada. They already did it in Europe with the next-gen Micra, which looks very different than the one sold in North America.
Yea the Micra definitely needs an upgrade super basic
@@carsunlocked Super basic is not a bad thing actually. All I needed was an automatic transmission (not cvt), air contioner, backup camera and cruise control with the Micra S automatic. Has it all. It's an upgrade compared to my 2005 Toyota Echo Hatchback which has a manual transmission, no a/c, no backup camera and no cruise control lol.

CVT is great for fuel economy, but when it breaks, you have to replace the whole thing - an expensive proposition. (there are no repairs for CVT units). For reliability, I'd stick with the 4-speed automatic. It will last longer and cost MUCH less if it does need repair.
