I just watched. It’s not a movie that’s gonna knock your socks off or anything but we live in a day in age where quality movies are more and more rare. I definitely enjoyed it and think it’s pretty darn good it’s worth a watch.
Totally agree. There's nothing else interesting in cinema so took a chance on this and it's a lot better than it has any right to be for a film that cost only $18 million. IMO it's better than Expandables and even American Sniper. A rare gem that's worth a ticket.
Its sad isnt it i use too have so much to choose from not any longer i will give it a watch. Thank u
And it is something original, somewhat.
Much better than super hero movies
The most interesting thing about how completely disjointed this film is was watching Russell Crowe being confused walking around a supermarket in a Hawaiian shirt looking at meat and cheese FOR HALF AN HOUR
I saw it and I was surprised on how much I enjoyed it. Though the military procedures had a couple of flubs, it was great to watch
It was produced in Australia, so expect it to have just a couple of mistakes.
🤣😆it was produced down under, expected a cpl mistakes!!
Same. I was surprised they shot this for only $18 million but the low budget doesn't show. Great action and CGI so give those mistakes a pass.
I just went ahead blindly on this one and was pleasantly surprise because I was well entertained till the end
Same. Fun action flick and doesn't waste time on family drama fillers.
I liked it. Very good movie, definitely not B-movie garbage like I thought it would be. Liam Hemsworth really did a good job and has improved his acting. He should get better roles.
I am not a war movie buff but I liked the land of bad - it brought back memories of Predator jungles & Rambo II actions in Vietnam alive for me.
@Mister Know it all Box of Chocolates - agree this is no Black Hawk Down but sure it deserved a few more words of appreciation that negative criticism e.g. the Starbucks moment was not to promote the brand but the stark difference between the environment in which the operation was being monitored vs the hostile field environment ….Am sure Starbucks didn’t need the promo!
Why exactly did you feel the need to insult me in your comment? I'd be happy to discuss the film with you but not if that's how you're going to act.
Base on your rating, I personally rate it 4.8. Simply because it is the most realistic military op movie out there. No fancy hollywood over the top productions. No main character playing beach volleyball topless. Just realistic plot and action and interaction between the field agent and the desk operator. Great great movie! Highly recommended!
And no family drama fillers. The dumb montage of people crying and agonizing with nonsense speeches yada yada yada. Here you get a clean action flick Rambo style. What's amazing is this film only cost $18 million which doesn't seem possible.
It was far from realistic.
@@jonfreeman9682Rambo was over the top.
I just watched it and enjoyed it, it was a simple movie that just showed what happens when things go wrong. Show’s how even when there’s a technological superiority, things can go wrong in a major way. I’d say my favourite aspect of the film is how you feel that any character could die at any time.
I gotta say, I liked the movie. I too thought it was much better than I expected it to be. However, there is one glaring plot hole that I couldn't get past. now, let me first say that I realize this is a movie where you're not really supposed to think too much and just watch & enjoy. With that said, the one thing that made me go, "...Wait, huh?" is when Sugar shows up and rescues Liam. Okay,....where was he this whole time? Where did he come from? They've been tracking Liam via thermal cam, using that same cam to let him know where hostiles are, yet somehow never went, "Oh, hey look, there's somebody else." Maybe he was magically able to stay outside the 500m zoom range. {{eye roll} Outside of that, I thought it was just fine.
I can't believe that I actually sat through most of this movie. Had nothing better to do while traveling on business. Pure fantasy, especially Russel Crowe's character.
Being in the Marine Corps i absolutely loved this movie
Sounds interesting. Hope it gets a wide release
Yeah I don't know how wide it will go, might be worth checking out if you can find it.
I’m a guy who gets taken out of a movie when I can’t suspend disbelief. It is really jarring and annoying to me when something happens in a movie that doesn’t make sense and is so unrealistic that I can’t get behind it. John wick 3 and 4 were those movies for me. And the ending of this movie was so mind numbing BUT I can let go of it because they did so well at creating tension and even though entire ending was not realistic. That was prob one of the most nerve racking scenes I’ve witness In a long time
It was a worse version of Lone Survivior but nonetheless still fun movie to watch. A couple scenes did really have me on the edge my seat. I’ll probably even re-watch it in the future, good movie
Little Milo playing SOF - git sum!
I think you need to tell us whether or not we can include spoilers in the comments.
You're allowed to do whatever you want lol. Just use a spoiler warning preferably
drone scenes were amazing.
This movie has no right to be this good.
i mean the would have held accountable, for not picking up the call.
Not sure what you mean
sorry, the colonel for not picking up the call@@BoxOfChocolatez
lol the fact they had Army ranks on USAF uniforms and Russel Crowe as a hugely overweight "Captain" took a little bit away from the realism. But its Hollywood. It was decent.
Just a solid father son dude movie
Yep
Lol what, there was no father/son in the movie
@@squarecircle2347I think he means it’s a movie to watch with your dad
It’s funny because I actually watched this with my dad😂
SPOILER WARNING!
At the end when he walked into the room with bishop and saeed, the look that bishop gives him and then when kinney stabs saeed, that was a conclusion of the conversation bishop and kinney had at the beginning of the film. Just wanted to point that out because from the sound of it in your review you seemed to have missed that or just ignored it for some reason when you suggest that they didn't go anywhere with their conversation from the beginning.
If you're talking about my complaint that the main character was uninteresting, that doesn't really do enough to change that for me.
Nah I meant the part around 5:20 when you referred to the conversations about how warfare changed (but in some cases goes back to its primitive nature). That conversation gets sort of referred back to in the end. That's what I meant. When kinney stabs the guy, it's basically proof of what bishop said earlier that when things get real, it's man killing man and in a very brutal and personal manner which is what we saw right there. @@BoxOfChocolatez
@@squarecircle2347 Yeah I get that, just didn't do much for me.
@@BoxOfChocolatezIt does not excuse you forgetting and making that comment though. Make a comment that is informed if you bash a character.
@@ethanweeter2732 I didn't forget anything. Like I said, it wasn't enough for me to enjoy the character. It wasn't worth mentioning because it didn't change my perspective.
I enjoyed it , 6/10 maybe. Massive Body of Lies and Behind Enemy Lines vibes, but was enjoyable enough but yes no character build to love.
I love this commentary. Great insight
I just watched this movie the other day. And it's a awesome movie! It's one of the most accurate military movie I've seen in a long time. It depicted the military perfectly. It's not a straight to DVD movie. The tactics are perfect, and Liam Hemsworth is a realistic new guy as a JTAC. It's a special movie, in my opinion.
accurate? not even close
@denisl2760 The way the Air Force people acted was accurate.
My son(12 years old, Roblox addict) enjoyed it much.
We saw the movie yesterday and thourghly enjoyed it! Great photography and acting.
This movie rocks
It's a great movie
This movie gave me stress and cliffhangers.
Extraction spin off
Much better than super hero movie
As if all superhero movies are the same lol
Land of Bad is a play on the term " land of Bad things" that vets referred to Vietnam
That really doesn't make it any better lol, it just sounds silly to me
But it’s the Philippines. Yeah, my country should just change “ it’s more fun in the Philippines,” to “ land of bad” haha!
@@BoxOfChocolatez you have a bad comprehension, well your not a military so what do we expect.. tsk tsk. thumbs down
@@paghilumdihauy You could try actually explaining what I have a "bad comprehension" of, but you seem like you're just dismissive of differing opinions so what do we expect.. tsk tsk. thumbs down
This movie is mid at best but Crowe as a 60 yo USAF captain is unbelievable stupid
One of the best films I’ve Ever seen!!!!! Damned good!!!!
Ur tweaking
No I just have a different opinion than you, is that difficult for you to comprehend?
i just watched it tv....it was terrible. even a great actor like russel crowe couldn't save this film. the acting was very cliche action movie. i walked out after an hour
That seals it. I'm going.
So u walked out of your house?
Bro walked out of his own house
So far I haven't hear any real bad reviews. Most people seem to have enjoyed it.
Dude if you didn’t enjoy this film then I’d be surprised if you like anything that comes out these days considering how bad the film industry is these days. Although not a great movie Land of bad felt like a breath of fresh air
Well I tell you what a 4-year-old came up with a tactical inaccuracies.... this was a bad movie and even Russell Crowe couldn't resurrect it.... this movie sucks and it's not worth your time
