DO NOT take every order. That is not how you make money. Also HotSpots mean nothing.. So if you got a dash FOR $6 to go 15 miles you are going to take it how dumb. To make money logically delivering you have to cherry pick. AR means nothing. Just go to schedule and schedule blocks ahead of time for the week.
I work at panda express and I have food delivery drivers I see daily and I always try to make their job easier by hurrying up the order or even just making sure everything is completely correct because we both are working for a check.! I do appreciate when drivers tell me they see me working fast because I genuinely am trying for them😂!

I started dashing just a week ago and I'm already at gold status. I just need a few more orders to qualify for the platinum status. I just realized how fortunate I am. I live in a small town, but we have a lot of restaurants within 1 mile of each other on the main street. I live right off this road, so when I get in my car I get orders in less than a minute. @@DollarDriver thankyou for answering back so specifically! This is so wonderful. I will most probably land in LA. So, wanted to know if there's enough business in LA for new legal immigrants so that they could earn enough to have a respectable life based on income through Doordash or other food delivery platforms?
What do you do if a customer leaves you a bad rating because they tracked and noticed you stopping at another restaurant, thereby delaying their order delivery?
It's hard to fix reviews of people they can be very picky and demanding unfortunately. If you delivered on time then you should contact support and let them know the review is invalid due to your delivering on time. This would be what I would do.
Best video I’ve seen yet for dash tutorial💯 Now I actually feel like I understand what to do bc you showed entire process, thank you 🙏 ❤ Will you ride along with me for my first dash ? j/k 😂
I do doordash in Wichita falls Texas and I make around 460 a day I start around 1:15 am and get off around 10:30 pm 7 days a week I love working with doordash 🥰
You do not have to be right at the restaurant that is shown as a hotspot to receive an order. That is not how hotspots work, nor how the algorithm allocates orders.
It helps to know where the hotspots are which are usually busy places but you can be anywhere and still get an order. Busy times I find being closer to the places where people are ordering from can result in more orders.
Thanks so much! I would def. do a scooter, etc. if it was safe because if you have high density housing and food places that don't require a lot of driving I imagine you can do pretty well. Be safe out there and keep hustling and let me know if you do end up scootering, would love to know how it goes.
I always wondered if you needed to check if the order was correct(looking in bag), but I guess not. So if the order is wrong or something is missing, it’s on the food establishments, not the driver.
I've been doing doordash and uber eats for3 years now the only tip I have for anybody that is starting is make sure you use the bathroom. I got a really bad u. T I and I almost died from holding it, worrying about the customers getting there on time and holding my urine. I think she did wonderful. That's just the only tip that I would give to anybody

I’ve been dashing since 2023 of September. Since then I’ve been trying to keep up dashing as a side job. They’res time it’s very slow especially when your doing it only part time. U watch the time pass go by. 😵😵😵
When I door dashed in Queens, NY I did not accept orders from fast food restaurants because I could make so much more when I would pick up orders from regular restaurants. and in Queens we have so many restaurants of every different ethnic food.
Great advice! If you know of specialty or expensive restaurants that do delivery those are great to get orders from if you can. Love the variety of food in NY!
How does that effect your approval rating? Mine dropped a lot. And does it matter? I'm new and I was told to accept all orders or else I would continue to get low ball orders.
Yes it’s sad but they push bad orders to you and if you reject your acceptance rate goes down. You should never have to accept a bad order and get penalized!
I also feel like new drivers get a lot of insentives. My boyfriend recently started dashing and he constantly gets peak pay and challenges. I haven’t seen any since I started five years ago. It’s not fair they should offer it to everyone in that area.
I have tried 3 dashes and they were messed up because as soon as I arrive at the restaurant I can’t stay connected to Wi-Fi. I lose the job. And the money.
Oh no that's so frustrating! I would try using your phone's mobile data while in the restaurant. Sometimes with poor reception it’s tough I 100% understand!
i'm not good at directions like figuring out if one order from doordash is close to the order from ubereats that's y i can't do multiapps...if i get order from one i turn the other one off😢

I'm new, still waiting for approval. I'm guessing my background check, but on my app, it says start dashing? Do we get red door dasher bags? Some pizza places, require a pizza bag, don't they?
Once they approve you you are good to go. You don’t need the DoorDash bag but you need an insulated bag. If you get a big enough one you can use it for pizza which is what I do. I got mine from Costco.
If this happens then you should contact Doordash support ASAP. Some places do check for verification but many do not, especially those who just put the orders out for others to get.
Do not accept orders what do not pay 2 dollars per mile. Example: if you have an order for 5 miles away do not accept unless the tip for the order is at least 10 dollar tip.
I agree that is how it should be, but almost All my orders, about 90%, are from cheap tippers. I only have 30 deliveries under my belt, and It's pretty ridiculous how low some people tip. Yes, we need the money, but to say we need it so we'll work for less than minimum wage to get it? it's going towards gas too, and if dashers declined the cheap tipper orders ( and DD is kinder with approval rating "punishment") it would teach the cheap tippers that they won't get their food unless they have a little more respect for the delivery driver. I'm driving 5-10 miles for a $2 - $2.50 tips just to keep my approval rating . It's not fair that Doordash lets us newbies get screwed. I really hope it improves. I can't afford to only make $10-$13 an hr, and that's what I'm averaging Before I deduct my gas.
How's your approval rating?? I did that for one day on a 3 hr shift, declined a $6 order 13 mile trip and 2 more similar, and my rating dropped to 62% 😮 So now I'm back to driving far for cheap tippers.
@@DollarDriver I’d you want to do this for a long time. Walmart sells a collapsible wagon and people love it and he thinks that it looks is so good that the tips are better.
🤔...Why do you stop your miles before getting back home? I'm about to start Dashing for the first time tomorrow and this has me a little confused. Anywhere you dive for business purposes should count as a mileage deduction. As far as I know the only business driving you cannot count is driving from your home to your primary office. For pretty much all gig workers your home is your primary office AKA your official business address. As in the fixed location where you perform administrative task associated with your Dashing business, keep supplies, equipment and records for that business. So driving mileage from your home to where you start Dashing and from where you stop Dashing back to your home should all be deductible mileage.
Hello! I have a 2022 Ford SUV, is this good to doordash with because of gas useage? Like for every $100 I earn, I have to sped about $50 for full tank of gas thanks! 😮
That’s pretty tough. I would optimize for very short distances in high density areas to save on gas? Also if you make enough you could buy a car with a lot better gas mileage. Keep me posted!
Good teaching. At this point i pretty much know fives cities like the back of my hand. Familiarize yourself with the main roads, a lot of times you can get better timing. Chipotle and panda always good orders
Thanks for the kind words! Yes Chipotle and Panda area always solid! Also I have found any popular places with only a few locations tend to be hubs of orders for people who don't want to commute to those locations.
I watched the video. It gave me a lot of info and tips. I’m still scared. I think I’ll call my friend to go on my 1st run w/me. In my defense- “I’m old!” Never thought I’d say that. Laugh out loud. “I got this!”
Awesome! You can do this! I install gridwise so I can track the time and mileage I spend driving. This way you can use this at the end of the year for taxes if you want and it also helps me know what my hourly rate is, etc. after a full day.
Looks like most of these pickups and deliveries are local roads. Do you take any that you need to travel on the freeway to, or are those generally too far away to bother with?
People do but what I want to do is always treat people the way I want to be treated. So I would want my food as hot as possible on delivery do that's why I use an insulated bag. If you sign up for Doordash many times they send you a free one, it's small but good. I also got my bags from Costco and I think there are a lot on Amazon as well. Hope this helps!
It's nice to track how much you are driving, how long you are driving for etc. to help make sure you are not spending too much on gas or wear on your vehicle.
Im confused about the pay,so if i get an order thats $6.00,after i deliver it ,is that my pay the $6.00? Im really cobfused or do i get $15.00. Hr and get paid at end of day?
Some states and cities offer work per hour. You will see it as an option. If not then you see the amount including tip you are estimated to receive. Hope this helps!
@@DollarDriver I applied but I'm on the waiting list. It seems the more we check in the more chances we have to continue our application they don't contact us. Any tips on how I can get hired faster.
It’s not heavy for food. For other apps where you may need to shop I use a nice portable dolly. So you can not select heavy orders in most apps so you don’t have to carry heavy things.
Doordash usually gives you one but Anna had not received it yet. I have coolers myself so you can use approved ones as well. Doordash provided coolers are pretty small so I would suggest getting a bigger one.
I like UberEats because it's quicker to get on but DoorDash seems to pay more, depends on your city. I also highly recommend Spark from Walmart, very good as well!
I can’t believe you don’t have the food in a hot bag and that drink in a cold cooler. I always use my hot and cold bags. ALWAYS! Customers appreciate it. Even if your food isn’t that hot when u get it. If u zip it in a hot bag the heat that’s there will fill the bag and when u deliver and unzip the steam will bellow out and it’s like it makes the food hot again in a way. I hate when I order food and it comes ice cold. Especially when it’s literally from 2 miles away. Or a smoothie melted to liquid is the worst. So my customers get what they ordered in hot and cold bags no matter what. Just a hint for all you dashers that think it doesn’t matter. It does. And your tips will prove it. I put cold freezer packs in my cold cooler. That’s how I keep cold stuff cold. I used the red DoorDash hot and cold bag until I broke the zipper and just ordered a cheap one off Amazon. Doesn’t have to be an expensive one. You’re not catering 20 dif dishes at this point. If you do get to that top dasher or platinum dasher you will have provide pics of your large catering bag frequently as well as your pizza bag. Tip. Most pizza huts have DD Pizza bags they can give you for free if you ever accept a pizza order and don’t have one. Most of the large pizza chains have them. So don’t pay that $30 or whatever DD wants to charge. When they provide these chains with free ones anyways. Happy Dashing!

So you don’t have to fill drinks?
Even in US I was told never to fill the drinks we are only there to deliver the food not the order and that include drinks!
Do not accept orders what do not pay 2 dollars per mile. Example: if you have an order for 5 miles away do not accept unless the tip for the order is at least 10 dollar tip.
Yes it’s good to set a limit but many people need the money even if it’s a bad deal unfortunately
Yes it’s tough they penalize if you reject terrible orders it’s not right
I live in an that, i suspect, doesn’t have food tippers
Lovely woman in the video. Wishing her the best. Peter and my head 87 year old Italian mother in the Villages, Florida!!❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Youre doing Great!!! My biggest challenge is trying to carry the bag of food, drink, and my phone all out to my car lol
Thanks so much! lol so true it’s the food delivery juggling act lol
@@DollarDriver I’d you want to do this for a long time. Walmart sells a collapsible wagon and people love it and he thinks that it looks is so good that the tips are better.
Awesome great idea. I also use a dolly they have which is nice
Best to talk to a tax professional on this one but I believe for the video we were going to do other things unrelated to driving for doordash
It is
Is there a difference between ignoring a offer and decline?
I don't think so unfortunately!
Great video, wished I saw this 3 days ago 😅 but I've figured it outish. What's the time/mile keeper app?
Thanks!! The app was called gridwise it's pretty good!
Great job & thanks! *QUESTION*: Accept everything on Day 1? Even if it's a loss like the 10 miles for $2?
Up to you but practice is nice when you are learning!
You got this!! I know you can! Definitely a great idea to take a friend along! Let me know how it goes and if I can help in any way!
What do you do with the grid app info?
You can use it at the end of the year for taxes and also track and see how much you are making per mile/per day etc.
Good thing he was there to teach u how to drive
Always happy to help people!
How do you get someone to ride with you like you did?
It’s very rare lol
My husband and I in the 90s wanted to do an internet startolup for delivering fastfood. We almost did it. Wish we would have we would be billionaires!
Wow that's awesome, so sorry you didn't do it :)
I'm doing my first dash today. After seeing this video I'm not so nervous anymore thanks. Why do u install gridwise? Does gridwise pay you as well
Awesome! You can do this! I install gridwise so I can track the time and mileage I spend driving. This way you can use this at the end of the year for taxes if you want and it also helps me know what my hourly rate is, etc. after a full day.
Waiting for my background, processing now. I’m already a instacart shopper.
Awesome! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions!
Why or whats the reason to screenshot and take a picture?
On delivery you can have a copy
How much does the roaming data bill for the phone eat in to your daily takings? Is Food delivery still viable if you own a petrol only car?
There is no roaming on a lot of USA plans. Yes gas can get expensive so it’s good to monitor pay per mile.
Looks like most of these pickups and deliveries are local roads. Do you take any that you need to travel on the freeway to, or are those generally too far away to bother with?
I did not show freeway driving but yes it was across many miles for this day.
@@DollarDriver Thank you
Can we deliver food without insulated bag is it important to carry
People do but what I want to do is always treat people the way I want to be treated. So I would want my food as hot as possible on delivery do that's why I use an insulated bag. If you sign up for Doordash many times they send you a free one, it's small but good. I also got my bags from Costco and I think there are a lot on Amazon as well. Hope this helps!
I’m definitely under the radar DOORDASHer
Keep on hustling!
ill look into gridwise but i dont think i need it.
It's nice to track how much you are driving, how long you are driving for etc. to help make sure you are not spending too much on gas or wear on your vehicle.
I thought you needed a food handler license or food safety license to be preparing food or drinks?
No idea but the key is to not go to places that make you do this or report to Uber or DoorDash
That would definitely be the common sense answer. Too bad you don't see that much on the Internet 😂
This guy kind of reminds me of bruce willis. I wish he could go with me on my first day.
LOL thanks! Happy to help if you have any question just let me know!
@@DollarDriver I applied but I'm on the waiting list. It seems the more we check in the more chances we have to continue our application they don't contact us. Any tips on how I can get hired faster.
Yes just persistence it really makes no sense they should tell you what order in line you are right!?
I am new to doordash (TODAY WAS MY FIRST DAY)..... I HATE THE DOORDASH MAPPING. i use my phone mapping.
Welcome! Yeah do what you think works best for you! Be safe and keep hustling!
Very interesting very informative information great video do more please this is something i have been thinking about doing. 😊
Thank you! If you have types of videos you would like made please let me know!
Chic Fila doesn’t have a drive thru?
Yes it does many times it’s around the building
How heavy can carrying food get? I have back problems and that concerns me
It’s not heavy for food. For other apps where you may need to shop I use a nice portable dolly. So you can not select heavy orders in most apps so you don’t have to carry heavy things.
Is that why the restaurant’s always thing I work for delivery, since usually spinning the stop for Pokemon go. Lol.
lol there are a lot of drivers these days!
You didn't even show how to accept and locate the first order on the app.
Thanks for sharing!
I freaking love this.
Awesome
Remember bring food or snacks and extra water/drinks for yourself.
Awesome idea!
I have everything redy to start doing dash but im too afraid of doing it. English it's not my first language so that's why im really scared 😅
You can do this! If you need any help just let me know!
Do you provide your own coolers?
Doordash usually gives you one but Anna had not received it yet. I have coolers myself so you can use approved ones as well. Doordash provided coolers are pretty small so I would suggest getting a bigger one.
Veey helpful. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
What mileage app did u use?
Gridwise is the one we used it’s pretty good
Very interesting, thats cool you showed her the ropes
Thanks!!
Which one is better Uber eats or DoorDash
I like UberEats because it's quicker to get on but DoorDash seems to pay more, depends on your city. I also highly recommend Spark from Walmart, very good as well!
ALSO you’re not suppose to make the drink were not there to fulfill the order were only there to pick it up even drinks!!!!
I hear ya!
I don't like stacked orders personally.
Yes it can def be tougher since many times you may not have a good idea of how much time and distance it adds.
I thought I saw in the video she had an insulated bag in the back seat.
100% agree! I use a cooler bag from Costco, the DoorDash one zipper broke for me too.
She had a red bag that she used for the food.
We run a flooring contracting company and business is so slow my husband I are finding side gig. This is something we might try.
Yes go for it and if you need help just ask! You can email me at DollarDriver.org
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
