For the USPS we have to scan every individual Amazon/USPS barcode and our scanner will say a sequence number 1-1200 based on the house number. We then write that number on the white paper sticker and then organize thee lower numbers towards the front as we drive our daily routes. Usually we get 2 tubs of boxes/packages, some routes that are larger get 3 tubs.

They used to give us gas cards, but drivers weren't putting accurate mileage in or saving recipients, and gas theft got bad. We have a company that comes at night. BTW, Amazon states not to put the package directly in front of the door. Between porch pirates and the package being in the open, to people not being able to open the door or stepping on them. Plus if you give it to someone you need a name and a signature.
i will never drive for amazon after getting my DOT med card and getting my CDL amazon is trash to work for u can find way better driving jobs respect you for doing it
Wrapping the seatbelt over the wheel is what a lot of us do in the EDVs as well. I recommend actually wearing the seatbelt properly tho, especially since you have more consequences for any infractions you get with a DOT cert. Pretty much the only meaningful advantage of the EDVs other than COOOLLLD A/C and cooled seats is you mostly get the StepVan experience without needing the cert since the vehicle weighs like, 9000 lbs I believe?
Funny thing about the warehouse and how they are supposed to load those carts. All those bag have different weights in them and some of them collapse when a heavy bag is placed on them.
@@MaeNeb it’s hell. I’m expected to do 25-30 stops per hour in a suburban/rural area where about 40% of the customers just leave their dogs out waiting to attack, lots of trump supporters, every single driveway is either half a mile long or more with gravel, I still have a sprained ankle and I’ve been working about a month, I haven’t taken a break since the first week I worked, I get in trouble for “moving too slow” everytime I take a break to pee, it’s genuinely impossible to hit their expectations in this town that I work in. And our dsp hits us with violations if we go over 5 mph over the speed limit so if you’re in a 25mph neighborhood, regardless of how open the road is or how much you’re being pressured you’re either in trouble for “moving slow” or for driving too fast. The pay is trash, it’s 22 an hour but the fact that I get rushed to finish a 150 route stop within 4 hrs makes it impossible to get anything more than 25 hrs a week, and I’m about to get fired because someone attacked my van but they’re pinning the blame on me because I didn’t immediately report, I texted as soon as it happened and tried to continue with my route because I was already behind. It’s not a good job.
@@MaeNeb not to mention that the phones we get don’t last more than 4 hrs into my route and glitch all the time so I’m wasting at least half an hour overall on every route between dealing w the app glitching, the gps taking me down the wrong driveway or wrong direction, the camera phasing out right before taking a picture, or having to call customers to put their dogs inside with no replies, it’s just ass
Hey man love the content and the transparency you provide to your audience but one thing as a former driver. I suggest you don't include any methods that could lead to someone hurting themselves. i.e. the seatbelt method mentioned at 17:05, that could lead someone really getting hurt since the seatbelt isnt being used properly across their chest and waist.
Honestly I'm a Steward (dishwasher) at a large-scale tribal-owned entertainment venue that earns revenue through wagers, but these kinds of videos make me wonder whether it would be worth it to try spending some time as a courier. On the flip side, I've got the golden handcuffs. If I leave, my tenure clock resets, but if I stay here another 5 years, I'll get a 10-year $1k bonus. I'm only 24 and already feeling locked into a company but the curiosity of other industries is always on my mind
I'm only in a couple minutes but I had to stop and ask a question. Do you guys have have a system of any sort that you put all your delivery's in the truck that tells the best way to make those delivery's. Like some type of system that knows all your delivery's and it prints out the best way and tells you the order in which to deliver them in? Hopefully that makes sense but also you may address that later in the video and I should have watched it to the end to ask questions. I use the excuse that I'm older than dirt and if I don't ask while I am thinking about it because I would probably forget it if I didn't ask at the time. 👍🇨🇦
Hey Chris I really like your videos! I worked for DHL in germany myself for 2 years. I got one question though. You are leaving a lot of packages at the front door, kind of in plain sight. I was wondering if this is something that is just allowed or normal in the US or do all of the customers have a a storage location (so like "leave it at the front door")? I can only tell from my experience but at DHL you need permission from the customer to leave their package somewhere, else you have to dleiver them to them in person or bring them to a pickup shop or to a package locker (like the amazon locker).

I really enjoyed the journey of delivering the package order, hello from Indonesian Mr. Chris🙂
Belt on the steering wheel is genius! I'm gonna start doing it tomorrow!
Yessir. You the reason I started working at Amazon. My ride along is tmr
Wish the reception desk would take these packages off you instead of having to go up to the individual offices.
Shoutout from Lansing, Michigan. We also have a bridge that regularly eats delivery vehicles
Chris Amazon is my favorite
No way I found another Laotian Chris as an Amazon delivery driver I just got hired can’t wait to start working!
How is it?
Watching this makes me glad I don't have to unload the freight out of my semi.
How do you like working long days? Is it better working in the warehouse vs in the trucks?
Just started getting into your vids. Very relaxing - keep up the long content!
Love this one. Keep up the good work.
Hey man love the content and the transparency you provide to your audience but one thing as a former driver. I suggest you don't include any methods that could lead to someone hurting themselves. i.e. the seatbelt method mentioned at 17:05, that could lead someone really getting hurt since the seatbelt isnt being used properly across their chest and waist.
that secretary was drunk ya'll lmao
wine you are done with the dlivry what do you guys do. do you take a brake or do you go bake to amzon and get the pagis
Dr. Pep, Great choice.
Great insight for your job meeting interesting people, All the best from the UK.
So insane. I used to work right in that area where you are delivering years ago. I recognized every place you went to
You're videos are awesome man. You could be bagging groceries and I'd still watch
Watching this video bring essential nourishment to my soul
OH HELLL YEAHHHHH
amazing work, I use to do amazon 200 stops/day but never actually stopped until i finish this way i finished by 5pm or 4
Im about to do over 200 stops a day... Is it bearable?
Been watching you since ground man what a journey it’s been 💪🏽
I really wish they had air suspension 😂😂😂you feel every bump on the road
I work where these trucks are made in Bristol, Indiana. Amazon had BIG plans for these trucks but ultimately stuck with the sprinter vans.
thank u i was having trouble falling asleep this video did the trick
Was that the 11’8” + 8” bridge?
