Iâve learned so much from you over the years. Started building 6 years ago. Glad youâre back. I do a lot of 62te. Almost as much as the 6L80s. I see that snap ring break the drum often.
Glad to hear that the snap ring breaking the drum is a common issue with these units. This is the first time I seen it broken like that. I replace that drum because of wear by the snap rings that causes the typical driveability shifting issues and torque converters coming apart shedding lot of metal just like the 6L80's do. Awesome that you're doing good on on being a builder, you can't ever get tired of this, something always different. That's what makes this field more exiting than any other field in the automotive industry.
Can you help? I wanted to remove the lower drum, but I could not because there were 3 rods stuck on the front end of the drum. The question is, how do I free the drum from the rods?
Hi, after assembling an 62te it's got reverse but has no drive and code p084b. I can clear the code but it comes back righ after swiching to drive. Valve body and solenois seems to be good. What can be wrong?
I am dealing with this exact same issue right now. I initially thought it was the parking pawl. When putting the vehicle into park it would continue to roll. After digging into it i found this same issue. Could one problem have caused the other? I was thinking maybe the parking pawl broke off and could have caused this damage. Also, do you know what size bit i need to remove the set screw holding the shaft in place for the pawl itself? I know its inside the same hole that holds up the filter but i cant see up in there to see what type of bit it takes.
HELP! how do i get compounder assembly back into transmission from side cover, to mate inside planetary gears again? ive got 1/4 inch gap left before snapring can be installed. i dont know how to get alligned with installing compounder horizontally back into car... i bet a hammer will smash not mesh. thanks.
Where are you located? Hope close by need my 97 f250 diesel e4od rebuilt. No second gear have to drive it in first over 3k for it to change from 1st to second
Thanks for the video brother. I highly value your input and your channel! I bought a 2016 Caravan and I'm scared to death of this tranny. Are their any tips or advice on prolonging the life of my 62TE? God bless man!
75k mile Fluid changes and keep an eye out for the variable line pressure control solenoid failure. Common failure that takes these. Starts with erratic shifting

Hello from Russia. We are glad to see you again.
Thanks and hello from Texas.
I wonder why they dont use teflon sealing rings like everyone else.
Question is, to replace the drum with OEM or use your suppliers that have parts with fixes/upgrades to correct the issue?
I use a kit from Mopar. I'll show a video of it.
