These interviews from the homeless in Cape Town has found my childhood best friend whom disappeared at least 17 years ago from Durban. He is now back home and we are thankful of such people and their work. Keep doing this guys
Hi there thats so interesting, thank you for the comment. Is your friend one of the people interviewed on this channel? Or how did that process work? Many blessings to you 🙏
@@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fd not your channel but something similar. He was interviewed by a Migrant Pastor on a Tik Tok video in Cape Town at some park. When he said his hime address and story, people who saw the interview shared it with people who live in my area until it reached the actual family members of the homeless man. I am not sure how they got hold of the Pastor but they managed to send money to the pastor to facilitate a flight ticket purchase, clothes and food for the man to travel back home. He is currently working now but is trying to battle his alcohol addiction he developed living in the streets. He returned 2 weeks ago
Incorrect.. I live on this street where the video is filmed and have given this gentleman food and money many times over the years, including the gentleman sitting in the background. Also many residents help contribute to the homeless with food and clothing. The unkindness is coming from the government, maybe don't comment if you don't understand the situation.
Handouts will only keep them on the street. More needs to be done. If one looks at Cape Town, the streets are filthy, the verges are uncut etc., why doesn't the CoCT employ the homeless to clean our city, and include a meal in their daily 'package'. Let them regain their dignity.
@@techno.science Thank you for giving. The person being interviewed could not be the same one you’ve given to ^for years^ as he states that he has only been in Cape Town since the latter part of last year. Good try though. 🙄🙄🤔🙄🙄
It's tragic, anyone in the work market knows Cape Town has fewer work opportunities than most cities, and yet the pull of a better life is enticing. It's a crying shame South Africa govt provides no social or mental health care. We are all only one step away from living on the street.
He should have stayed in Johannesburg. Cape Town does not have the opportunities. I am from Cape Town. Live in Pretoria as I studied in Johannesburg and got work there.
These interviews are interesting. I would really be interested if you asked why they don't take up the offer of the Safe spaces offered by Cape Town Municipality. They apparently try to find jobs for the folk.
That is a great question thank you. We had a conversation with Leroy recently from #05 and he said he was approached by the authorities after they viewed his YT video to offer help to rehabilitate him. I must check if 'Safe Spaces' is the program that was offered.

That is such a beautiful story, thank you for sharing ❤️ I hope this channel will do the same.
The worst unkindness is from rich. They measure and weigh and count what they give. We are living in a devil world

Completely untrue, I've been homeless, people are people, some help others don't.

God bless you for the work that you do :) Please stay safe and be careful out there.
I literally only get negative comments about my interview style so this is so refreshing to see. Thank you SO much, means the world 💚🙏

There is a safety net but honestly it's better to be on the street than be put through the govt system.
I am glad I left Cape Town! I live in the Netherlands! So much work here and fair pay. There is nothing in CT.Everything is very temporary!
Pro's and con's to living anywhere.
@@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fd no I disagree. If these people were here they would have jobs in no time!! I can vouch for that!!
Yeah but they are not there are they? So if you could suggest solutions to the homelessness problem in CT what would they be?
“There is nothing in CT” I’d love to hear you elaborate on that statement

He looks very old to be 45 😮😮
😢🙏
What irony, he says he doesn't drink, yet is standing outside a well known bottle store.
That means nothing. I've walked past and stood outside many liquor stores, I don't drink.
Not a very bright comment now is it
Don't judge!
Every politician is to blame because they are playing the game.
If you had to offer a solution to the homelessness in Cape Town what would it be?
