Wow, only aired a few hours ago and two job offers already
Your programme is really working wonders
I pray that this lady and others benefit from your input
I see her daily in Obz, bless her heart, she doesn’t cause any trouble and just goes about her day ❤️
I pray she gets the help she needs
Beautiful chat too 🫶🏽
This is an obviously intelligent woman, well spoken, lovely background which a number of unfortunate circumstances outside her control rendered her homeless. Which is why I support basic income, as that would have provided a supportive floor so that people do not fall through the cracks and land up in a tragic situation like this.
This lady deserves a better life...i pray it happens.
i know this sounds cold, but if someone can give her a phone and internet, a simple u tube channel in her refreshing honest way she could most likely get a lot of fans and get an income. she lovely and her communications skills are great, articulate and engaging visually, lovely eyes. i love her being faithfull to her area. PS the interviewer is brilliant.
😂😂😂😂😂 never give advice again.
SA has a lot of kind people. Thank you for giving her plight a voice ( and there are many others)
I pray she gets a second chance.
Please post how she progrssses.
Please keep us updated on Lara's life. She is such an inspiration
This lady has a very healthy outlook❤. She deserves a job even if an NPO can reach out to her.
I feel like crying!!!! how such educated people land up on the streets. Dear lord Jesus I pray someone can help this lady send your holy spirit works through others to help this beautiful soul..
Incredibly articulate and so positive in her outlook. Greetings from an ex South African who has been the USA since 1999.
She's a courageous lady,independent and educated.
Sad what happened in her life, and the many out there, however ,we dont know what lies ahead for all of us,or where life takes us.
Humanity, kindness, etc, towards those in need,is part of life towards others.
Hope the Spirit of the universe grant all, wisdom to do good in their lives, and go forward in the best way possible.
Sadly, this is worldwide,we just dont know, dont condemn nor critisize, but hve humanity and compassion.
Can i get hold of this lady, i can organize her her a teaching job
Please email me your details then I will go talk to her: homelessincapetown@yahoo.com. Or you can go see her she is in front of the Society for the Hearing impaired in Observatory the majority of the time.
Lara's son has contacted me and given me permission to post his details in order for you to contact her via him if you cannot find her on the streets - Oliver: 065 993 2061. Email: oliverjasperhunter@gmail.com
Hi. Thanks for sharing this again. Have you done an interiew with JP before? Would love to learn more about how he helps the homeless.
Hi there thank you for the comment 🙏 Will be doing an episode on the Nina Manzi shower cubicles soon so will make a plan to talk to him as Youth Solutions are located on the same plot in Salt River.
Yes would love to know more about JP and I think Lara said Huge Solutions. Would like to know more about that .
@@DebbieWillams-el6hr It's Youth Solutions in Shelley Rd Salt River 😊
I really hope she gets some help. She is really intelligent and well spoken and kind...
I suspect most of us are just a few salary cheques away of being in this woman's position. I trust someone with the right connections will find her gainful employment. 🎉
You tell no lies
Brave lady. Can happen to anyone😢
Don't tell me Cape Town councillors can't give this women a bachelor flat And help her get back on her feet. So many like her. And then they still have the cheek to chase these people from the street. What a disgrace that so many people are on the street. The municipality and churches need to wake up and do something.. Dear God, we ask for your intervention. Let there be someone from all the churches that has the brain to organise rooms or bachelor flats for these poor women.
Sad indeed Dear Jesus please put the right person in this beautiful souls path👏🏽
Thanks!
Bless all homeless ppl all around the world
The grace of God saves me from this reality
Blessings
That's such a tragic story and there's many more that we don't know
Thanks for your amazing work, I am now a subscriber. To those supporting some devious evangelist or self-made pastor, open your eyes and stop paying your hard earned money to those wolves.
Amen
Doing such a beautiful job on your channel with all these beautiful souls may god bless you , hope Lara got a job and is off the street
Hi there thank you so much for the comment, am so happy the content resonates 😊 We did a follow-up interview with Lara and she is unfortunately still on the streets but has been offered some casual jobs here and there so there is hope 💚
I have a new duffel bag for her I will try find her next week! Will let u know how it goes 🙏🏽
Fabulous!! Thank youu 🌈
@@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fd and a potential work opportunity. Will go try find her next week
Why can't someone offer Lara a job..she is so educated. ...and has skills ...
Right?! Lara would be such a great resource to any company. Also with her digital art capabilities she can be employed as a graphic designer etc.
Can she not go back to her old agency though - surely with her skills they can try assist her?
South African economy is a disaster
I hope that more people watch these videos, and give! They should have a drop off spot in each area with boxes for clothing blankets old satchels shoes toiletries food where people can donate. A big cardboard sign DROP OFF for the homeless.
@ and more importantly, try to get them off the street, if that’s something they really want, but they are stuck where they are as people don’t want to hire them. Get them back on their feet and back in society again.
Please employ this lady
I'm a digital artist also, my biggest fear is ending up on the streets and getting robbed and beaten up by someone when I'm there. I'm a very reserved person, and I get upset quickly. I don't like the streets.
This is just so sad.
This is getting really upsetting. 😢 How? Educated people on the street. This is heartbreaking.
Thats the scary part
What so educated really help her
Can someone help this lady please, Surely someone can give her a job.
Who produces this programme. Such an important podcast
You can contact us on: homelessincapetown@yahoo.com
amazing lady
WCED has space for her!!! They must stop cutting due to “budget” and employ more people.
Ok thanks and where does she hold her belongings? If we had to give her clothes, does she keep what she has with her? And is she open to a cleaning job?
Yes she said she is open to a cleaning job. They keep their belongings under a plastic sail on the Village Green. Seems because many of the homeless people have their belongings there it stays safe as it is kept communally. She specifically said she needs a backpack or bag to keep things in as she is using an old Woolies bag. Let us know how it goes please. 🙏💚
I feel sorry for this lady. But she is not your average street person. I wish her all the best.
How do we contact Lara? The tears in her eyes 🥺 oh I really want to help her.
Lara's son Oliver has given us permission to post his number, you can contact her through him:
065 993 2061. Otherwise, Lara is mostly in front of the Society for the Hearing impaired or around the Spar in Station Rd Observatory.
I would never let my mom go this far... whats wrong with her kids???
It seems the kids are struggling as well 😫
@@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fd Gosh... How sad, I am definitely packing a bag of clothes for her and going to find her.
That is so kind thank you so much 🙏💚 If you cannot find her, her son Oliver has said people can reach her through him. He gave us permission to post his number: 065 993 2061
@@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fdI get that her children are struggling but no one should allow their mom to sleep on the street 😢the one son stays with his GF there is no excuse that a child doesn’t look after their parents it’s heartbreaking 💔
Where exactly is this lady based in observatory?
She sleeps in front of the Association for the Hearing Impaired in Station Road Observatory at night time. During the day she cannot remain here so then she moves around Observatory but remains around the Spar in Station Rd and the Village Green.
