- Minneapolis is famous for the Juicy Lucy (or Jucy Lucy) -- a burger with cheese INSIDE the meat instead of on top of it. We sent Associate Web Editor Alex Delany to the Twin Cities to try this decadent burger -- 9 of them in fact -- and give us his reaction.

I have the opposite feeling. I always feel like a working class idiot ordering it while my friends order theirs with fancier cheeses but when I eat it I fall in love with it all over again and I don’t care that they look fancier than me because my burger cheese tastes better.

I gotta say, the 5-8 club has a breakfast style lucy that is to die for. Totally understand going for the classic juicy lucy at all these places, but the Sunny-Side Lucy is stuffed with cream cheese and bacon bits, has an egg and hollandaise sauce, and a pretzel bun and it's amazing. Can't go there without getting it
Me and a friend went to Matt's one night and the line was out the door, As it always is, and a table available for 4 was called, and everyone in line looks around like. ugh. 2, 3, 5, 2, ugh. Lol so a couple who was there gave us just the right look and we were like, ugh you want to sit with us and we can get in?? Lol. Friggen AWESOME. Had the best burger with two random people. Ahhh. The love of the twin cities. So awesome

Requires too much drinking! But what would be on the list? Tahou's, Henrietta Hots, and sadly don't remember many other places really doing a good Garbage plate but it's been a few years since I moved.
@@invaderkong I could name quite a few, but most of them are not that good anymore. Pub 235 in Webster, Charlie's, and DogTown are probably my top 3.

You have to come to Montreal and do poutine, sure the best poutines are not in montreal you have to go in the regions for that, but there's a lot of damn good ones. Also people would finally see what are real poutines.

AusDaes I don't see how they can realistically eat multiple poutines in multiple regions of Quebec in one day, it's a big territory. I feel like he'd have to do Montreal classics like la Banquise, Poutineville and Belle Province at least for tourists, but he would have to try the places where it all come from which is all along the transcanadian highway. He'd have to try the two places that dispute the creation of poutine Lutin qui rit in Warwick and Roy Jucep in Drummondville even tho, they might not even be the first ones, he'd also have to try the Fromagerie Lemaire in Drummondville and in other towns around the highway, like Victoriaville, Princeville, St-Hyacinthe (where my favourite one "chez joe" is. At least for now until I try another that I prefer). It would be a long day it's like 1h30 away from Montreal.
There's a lot of other places that could make a point that they have one of the best poutine all around the whole province.
Quebec City has better poutine then Montreal

+Sean Childs I don't know if you were rating the top ones in order, but if you were, I'd agree with your order. I know Gates is the chain, but that double decker beef is a sandwich that you can't get anywhere else in the US. Anytime I'm in KC, I order two of them. Arthur Bryant's is definitely #2 to me as their sandwich just isn't as sandwich-like as Gates as it strikes me more as a pile of meat with some white bread. Oklahoma Joes? You know, I really feel that place is overrated. I see so many locals ordering the "Z-Man" there and that's just not what I'm looking for. Provolone on a BBQ sandwich? Sorry, didn't work for me.

FYI, if you can't get into the nook due to a waiting list. They have a sister restaurant and bar down the street called Shamrocks with the exact same menu in a larger setting.

My dad grew up in Minneapolis and ate a Juicy Lucy at Matt’s every day after high school in the 80s. Definitely my favorite, absolutely love the atmosphere there.

But I think you should have gone to the Saint Paul Blue Door Pub, it’s the original location. Although maybe I’m biased, being born and raised in Saint Paul.
