Right on Rich excellent video. One correction on what you said I actually only have a $465 ADP. Still that's not bad and I feel like I'm actually pretty lazy compared to a lot of these younger guys busting butt every day trying to squeeze everything out of the day they can. I have to say your day in the life of a Walmart driver is extremely similar to mine out here in Northern California. Makes sense since all the Walmart DC's practices and procedures are all pretty much the same nationwide with some deviations here and there. I've been planning out my day in the life as a Walmart driver but haven't actually recorded it yet. I really appreciate you and also that you've mentioned me here on your channel. I was planning on mentioning you in my upcoming video but that may be a couple days from now because we've been super busy with the t-shirt business on the side. Thanks brother catch you later 👍

After applying I had an offer in 3 or 4 days. After 5 more days I was advised to log into workday and pick my onboarding day. Heading there on September 12th .
Things are moving much quicker the last few weeks. Few are stuck, that's mostly due to positions filling up

I start my on boarding September 12 in Redbluff, CA. The testing reminds me of my Sacramento Dmv skills and drive test. It was extremely detailed and very little room for error. Extremely stressful! Lol. After I passed, I found out that it’s the hardest DMV in the state and have many fails. It’s also where they send testers to get trained and certified. Anyway, I am looking forward to onboarding and will not take it lightly!!! I will be as prepared as possible. The DC is Sacramento is an all automatic fleet so I hope I don’t test in a manual because it’s been 6 years since I drove one. Actually since I tested to get my Class A.

@@Walt450 Oh okay. I’ve heard a couple different answers. A Sacramento guy said he tested in a automatic last year because the fleet was all automatic.
My buddy took 2 drive tests one in each so i guess we will find out lol

Do you have to be on duty when you do your pre-trip or say "creep" your truck to an open spot such as you mentioned when you start your week?
Technically yes. Do guys do the pretrip while waiting for the 10hr to click off. Yes. Safety will tell you not to creep.. but guys do it still. It's all about is it worth it to you to do it. I'm not sure what/if the penalty is
@WalmartRich Right. Not only would the safety department tell you to not drive the truck or do your pre-trip inspection while off duty, but so does federal law. Additionally, I believe Walmart's policy is to not perform "any" work duties while off the clock. That's a fireable offense if I'm not mistaken.
I had driven for a company for a few years that have since closed down but how strict are they on employment verifications if the carrier is out of business ?
They will find a way. Maybe a w-2 or your taxes? I worked for Falcon and they shut down. Might take a little longer
I did my interview 2 weeks ago. I’m still in the background check stage. They told me it could take 2-4 weeks. I’m out of Missouri but they said if I’m accepted my onboarding will be in Spring Valley, Illinois
That all sounds accurate. Now that the doors opened back up they are working background checks as fast as possible. They now try to get a complete history before onboarding so drivers are not stuck riding along as much as possible
My onboarding is September 19th in Spring Valley, Illinois. We were having issues with first advantage being able to send me a query for my fmsca clearinghouse. Finally got it lined out. If you don’t mind I’m going to use you as a referral. My contact Allen said I can give them your driver number when I go to onboarding. I would also like for you to email me the pretrip info. This has been a long process do to my background check. But I’m excited to start my career at Walmart. My plans are to move my wife and I to St James, Missouri. That’s where I’ll be based out of.
Im going there Nov 14th 2022 for onboarding. I need your pretip Wal Mart guide sir. So I don’t use my old notes from CDL school and cross reference lol

It has been a mess and everyone was confused! I was part of that 2month situation hahaha. It sucked to be told I wasent accepted! Then I got an email august 2nd saying that there was a BIG SYSTEM CRASH THAT MESSED EVERYTHING UP! I litteraly just got pushed through today august 10th. Keep your heads up guys!
Exactly.. I been trying to keep everyone on track but it has been a disaster. Good thing is in a monthbor 2 when system running smooth it will be way better than before

Thanks for the videos and all the great info. I was wondering if it would hurt if I submitted an application before my preventable accident has been 3 years, in about a month will be 3 years since the preventable. It was very minor accident. Thanks.

No preventable* DOT recordable accidents (collisions resulting in disabling damage and/or immediate medical treatment away from the scene) while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten (10) years.
Was yours a preventable?
@@WalmartRich it wasn't a dot recordable but it was a preventable and it falls under the walmart no preventable in 3 years on the job posting. In about 30 days will be 3 years. Can I apply early? Thanks

Hello i have a question ? Will Walmart look pass me if i have a dot accident on my driving rec that happen 5 years ago?
I believe accidents need to be a minimum of 3. It depends on if its preventable and were there injuries or death. It could be 10 years. Feel free to email me or go to www.drive4walmart.com. they explain all the variances.

I have onboarding scheduled in January 2023. When will the physical be conducted? And do they do standard DOT urinalysis , physical, etc.

I cant remember if it was the first day of orientation or onboarding. I thought orientation. But it is a standard DOT physical and urinalysis.
So even if the Walmart store location is strict on no truck parking they allow Walmart trucks to stay?
No .there are a few places like Walmart markets that noone can stay at.
Enjoyed your video I am going to Seymour IN on the 5th of September for orientation does Walmart pay us money or is it a debit card and is that lumped in with orientation pay ?
They will pay you I believe $24 an hour for orientation and onboarding.. That will be put on your 1st official Walmart paycheck paycheck. To to get the money for reimbursement for meals and for travel expenses that they put on a debit card and I believe gave it to you on day one of orientation.

There's a guy named Ralph who had some things to say about Walmart and why he quit , do you have an opinion on his situation
I do but it would only be my opinion. I reached out to him to discuss it but I didn't hear back. What I can say is many people have reached out to me. (One guy who was in his onboarding class) and all of them told me most of what he said was untrue. I also had many driver tell me after they saw his videos, then mine, that my videos are 99% accurate and they are glad they didn't listen to him and love the Walmart job.
I’ve seen his videos he needs to move on and quit bashing Walmart I’ve been with Walmart for 90 days now, best driving job I’ve ever had, sure there are rules but nothing unattainable
Are you doing your 10/hour break in the truck? Because it sounds like more local then otr. How does that work
Yea because I live 2.5 hrs away. Also if you don't use the truck to take the 10 hr break you don't get the 42$/hr layover
Oh. Ok so basically you can do a 12 hour day or more, come back to the DC and do your layover if you live to far away?

Pto is a ruling hours. So if I have 100.5 hours of PTO and your ADP is 449. When you go on vacation you will use 10 hrs each day. (10 hours equals a full day because that's how they set up your adp) After you use 50 hours you will have 50.5. Each day on vacation will pay you 449.
You will also earn safety days every quarter you are safe. Those pay adp and must be used as a whole. PTO can be used by the hour in cases of low pay on go home day or dr apt. Any time you need a little to reach the ADP.

I believe you just need a class A license. Your actual job doesn't matter. I could be wrong. Best best is apply. When they call to confirm your info you can ask. I think your good tho

The big Problem WalMart has right now with hiring is this..They are using a New Company..FIRST ADVANTAGE..They are no good..Slow background check process..Worst out of all companies..Bad idea changing from HireRight.Which was a way better company.Recruiters are very frustrated with them also..Been waiting for 3 wks with Tons of emails,calls etc etc..In May of 2022 I applied..Had the Job.Set up for orienatation in 5 days...Was working at another Company.Couldnt get the time off for a week to go..Comminicated with DC mgmt near me about the situation..They were great..Told me to call them when I could get the time off to go...So I did..Went thru the application process.Now they are using FADV for background,and it is a complete joke..
Hire right was screwing up bad. Driber wod be told they were cleared walmart would hire them then they pop up with something and walmart would let them go. Hire right did that to me. I spent an extra week with my mentor because they cleared me then told walmart oh no, wait, then finally cleared me.
I dont know about first advantage but it has been a disaster so far.
@@WalmartRich I agree.Theres defenitely a better way..Very surprised with how big of company WalMart is that they wouldnt see this is a problem.Luckily I still drive for Associated Food Stores,and haven't quit while I sit here and wait for some outside company to do there job..
@@roddyw.7388 I think walmart tried to fix the problem. They got rid of hire right and went to Advantage. Who would have thought it would go this bad. Where walmart may have messed up is installing Workday at the same time. Unless workday is connected to Advantage? I dont know
Hey man, I've heard some rumblings about their being a delay I'm being cleared to drive after onboadding due to some new system? Any idea on this?
There was. This delay has recently been fixed. New applicants are sailing through

Walmart truck are all beat the hell up and don't get fix properly because all the mechanics don't want to work. That's my main issue as a walmart driver.
I think that might be a DC issue. At gas city and Seymour I have had issues fixed in minutes to hours. Rarely (if a larger problem) am in another truck for more than a day to a week.
In 15 and a half years I've never had an issue with any of the shops out west here. They've kept my trucks that I've used through the years running great without issue.
They need your email, name, and driver id
I looked online at the app like I was gonna be a new applicant. It only has a space for first and last name. I wondered how the system knows
@@WalmartRich I referred someone they called me saying his app was needing my email next day I got an email of his app. Maybe if the system has your email it won't ask for it
