    This is a very interesting video. I work in healthcare and applied for an IT job online with Walmart last summer but never heard back. A few months later, however, HR reached out to me out of the blue and asked if I would be interested in becoming a truck driver with them. I was surprised because I'd never even thought of driving a truck before. I turned it down without really thinking about it, but looking at some of the videos posted now I realize I may have missed out on an exceptional opportunity. It seems like a really good career - thank you for posting these videos.

    Hey Rich, sorry to hear about your basement. Hopefully you get through it alright. I saw on simplyhired that walmart was hiring in the dfw area, So i've been doing my research about driving for walmart. I was going to apply this morning but it turns out that there no longer accepting applications for regional positions. They have local home daily positions but the commute would be too long for me.. Either way, I'll keep checking drive4walmart for regional positions in Sanger or Palestine, TX And I'll be sure to put your name down as a referral. Thanks for the uploads, stay safe

    • @WalmartRich

      Texas and Florida are almost impossible to get into. Because guys like to transfer from other Walmart locations to that area. Also, that means when something does go live. You need to make sure you have an alert set so that you get notified immediately. Because they rarely stay up for more than 2 or 3 days. And they will get hundreds 2000s of applications..

      I'm not saying its easy! They still need to challenge you and make sure you can be safe. This new way of giving feedback and extra training makes it easier than it's ever been. Before I was a driver at walmart you use to get 1 shot 90% of drivers today could not pass the old standards. Things change with the times.

  • @Ghost-um2jw

    This is silly what its come to to get a job driving here. Im a former driver out of Sealy 7836 DC in Texas and when i hired on we had to get thru a driver revoew committee, then ops managers, a full pre-trip and road test that took well over an hour each...then to the GTM for interview. I stayed 12 years til it got so ridiculous and finally quit. That said, it was a well paying job and drivers were always well respected. I dont miss it tho.

    • @WalmartRich

      And when the hiring pool gets thin. How do you expect a company to get more drivers? If they can't get the drivers with the standards they upcurrently had in place?
      I just don't understand why guys get upset about this. They still are making sure that the drivers are safe by giving them more education. In my mind, more education is not a bad thing..

    Why are safety sensitive things timed when companies are all about safety?

    • @WalmartRich

      It's not really timed. There is a max. If you can't complete the pretrip in 30 minutes, that means you may not have a good understanding of how to do it properly. I could see it being an issue if they gave you an unrealistic time like 10 minutes or said top 3 fastest get the job. This is 30 minutes to do a pretrip, which is way more than enough time. When guys go to a national skills competition, they do it in about 6minutes and miss 0 items.
      Also there is no rime limit on the job. Its just to prove you have sold comprehension of whats expected.

    Question how hard is it to get hired after applying and doing your background check. I literally just applied last night.

    • @WalmartRich

      Depends on location. Sime need a lot of drivers and can go quick, some can take a while

      All of the DCs are to be exactly the same. The fleet development facilitators are all trained in Bentonville. Just remeber guys are human and personalities may be slightly different but the process should be 100% the same!

    How hard is the 12week associate driver to driver program???

    • @WalmartRich

      Super hard to get into. Not hard in my opinion to get through. I went to a 4 week school to get my license. You get 12 weeks of training. So you should be a better driver after 12 weeks of good schooling than I was after my 4 weeks

      I’m not good a testing on paper or on the screen testing but I would love to follow my dreams, also is it true if you do something to your truck you have to pay for it?

    Do you know anything about the associate to driver program when it comes to team drivers. I know the first 2,weeks the new driver is with a mentor. But what happens after?

    • @WalmartRich

      If your with a mentor on the road the associate to driver stays in the truck and the mentor gets a hotel
