    Interesting because I always thought of doing 4 point saddles just like this because it made it much more simplified but whenever I would try to do it like this something in my brain would just not work. But now that I actually see it done in this same method in my head I think I can actually get done now. This is what I needed! Thank you for the video.

    Just saw this video, this definitely is was the most simple video i’ve watched. Just started in commercial about 3 weeks ago an now i can officially bend 4 point saddles!

    I truly enjoyed and appreciate the simplicity of your technique, will definitely start bending all my 4PS like this thanks, much love from the local 676 FL.

    Excellent technique. Only suggestion I have is to shoot video a little wider so we can see the entire pipe when you're bending it. That would make the video so much better. Thanks for posting. Your easy explanation makes it easy for an engineer to understand. Keep safe out there.

    Very cool, thank you so much for your simple explanations! For what its worth, I'm a parts clerk learning to help out our electrician who is busier than I am. His instructions tend to be either too in depth for me or a bit vague. Your Mamma Bear version hits the sweet spot : )

    So would you typically account for shrinkage when making this bend?

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes if you are connecting to a run with conduit. Otherwise you will definitely come up way short.

      @@MountaineerOutdoors thanks for the reply !!!! in your experience when would you apply shrinkage vs this method ^ ?

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well honestly if you are proficient in pipe Bending and you are not under the gun to get as much pipe as you can up the shrinkage is great. This way is faster until you get the hang of it for sure.

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And honestly alot of the time I use the way I showed in my video. Especially when it's just one bend

  • @hectorruiz7496
    @hectorruiz7496 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How would you do a 3 point saddle strut when the obstruction is real close to the edge of the pipe & their isn't enough pipe to get leverage from to bend

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, if you had to do that it's a good idea to cut the other pipe off first then add your 3 point. It is hard to get it right at the end but it can be done.

    • @danielllanos653
      @danielllanos653 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use a leverage bar you'd push inside the conduit to make that last bend 🤲

      Where would the shrinkage come into play? Are you not allowed to make the bend and then add onto both sides with more conduit?

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would come into play when you are running a conduit run. You could add to both sides but once you get the hang of running conduit, you want the least amount of couplings as possible. I'm gonna be working on a video that shows shrinkage this upcoming winter once I get back to recording more electrical videos

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pipe shrinkage you have to account for that. I literally just did a video on pipe shrinkage yesterday.. Once I get it edited I'll post it. You have to add for it

    • @laceyforrest5799
      @laceyforrest5799 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thats because you would want your center of bend to be on your pencil mark and that means you would use the notch on the ideal bendernot the arrow, give it a try and you will see

    • @laceyforrest5799
      @laceyforrest5799 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      putting your pencil mark on the notch will put your mark in the center of a 30 degree bend

    It's sad that any union electrician apprentice is able to say no one showed them. I won't go into my diatribe about my feelings on the matter and I'm sure plenty will defend it and have smart remarks to make concerning my comment but if you don't know you'll find out how much I care seeing as your excuses to justify such behavior is extremely pitiful and pathetic. No wonder there is no unity.

    if you are running conduit and coming to an obstruction, this is NOT how you would get your measurements to go over... you need to factor in shrinkage so that when you go over the obstruction then the other end of your conduit will be where you need it..... in this method your starting from the obstruction, meaning at least one end will either need to be cut off (wasting pipe), or you will actually have to fill in a gap because it wasnt long enough to reach back to your already ran conduit, which is where you shouldve been starting from, not the middle of the obstruction

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You see I think that this video definitely shows exactly what you said. I am pretty sure that I said that you will have to figure shrinkage. I also said that I will be doing a video showing a video on how to figure out shrinkage.
