    Sometimes,to encrise the power, you also have to change the pulley guide, tensioner, and put some injector cleaner in your tank..and after that, to use the tune.

    Got 2 vics. An 06 and an 09. Just put a built trans in my 06 along with other goodies. The 09 has everything short of induced air. The tune and Jmod are a couple of the easiest most noticeable power improvements. Marty is the man. He does like to kick the trans shift pressures up a bit. I would only Jmod and tune newer transmissions. My 06 is a full blown K9 car with lights siren cage ect. I just got the new upgraded trans 2 days ago.

      @@chrislowe486 Stienmetz in Jefferson City MO. My trans went out 1 year after owning the car. Stienmetz is a transmission specialist and fairly priced. They pulled my old one and completely reworked it with upgraded clutch packs, valve body, servos OD band, OD pin, and TC. The valve body was reworked as well. In all it was $2377. I can definitely tell the difference in the shifts.

    I’ve had 4 crown Vics p71 in my life (2003,2006,2008,2010) (currently have a 2010) and the 03 was by far the fastest. Your 2004 seems very restricted somehow. I had my 03 at 130 mph fairly quick and it was still pulling .
    Also the 03 had the best throttle response because it didn’t have that drive by wire BS.
    I’ll be making videos soon of my 2010.

      @Mike Mike Johnson hi there. Honestly not much as I’m not trying to build a race car. I’ve added the k&n drop in air filter and in the works of doing a secondary cat delete and swapping to Flowmaster super 44 mufflers. I also run e85 as much as possible. Not looking for huge power gains just customizing to my liking. To me the car is plenty fast and comfortable to drive. Was just curious if a simple tune would add a little bit of hp to the mods I’ve listed above. Thanks for any input.

      2010 isn't a p71 buddy it's a p7B. And it's different. I have the same far and yes it's much faster. But your car won't do more than 130 because it's electronically limited to prevent damage to the aluminum drive shaft.

    Seriously recommend the Jmod. Did it to my 07’ and it really woke up the car. Shifts very fast and hard at WOT, and around town at low throttle you can’t even feel it shift as it shifts so fast. I’d bet with the Marty tune it’ll chirp tires changing gears. Really wanna get one.

    • @kollinlehr

    • @wjye
      @wjye 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kollinlehr I quite literally followed the Jmod guide here on TH-cam by Rizzo to the letter. I used a 7/16 drill bit for all the holes. On the later 4R75 transmissions from 2005+ several of the holes have already been enlarged so there’s not a ton of drilling on the newer transmissions so I don’t know if the “drilling to size” still applies. I also bought a heavy duty separator plate and drilled that out. The stock separator plate can crack, definitely a good upgrade.

    If you run an 87 tune do you have to run 87 octane & what if your state doesn't offer 87 octane does it matter?? Plus I always see some comments saying not to do a Marty tune because it can wear the transmission out quicker especially if that tune has it set where its just banging into the gears to hard.
    To be honest Idk if I should do it or not due to the fact that I've watched a few videos on how the transmissions in these cars are known for crapping out, Idk how true that holds though. Mine is an 05' CVPI, So its drive by wire which I know some people say not to do any tuning or modifications if its an 05' and up. What do you think??
    I noticed you have the same annoying speedometer setup as me where there is no RPM odometer which I find so annoying, would you know buy chance how much it would cost to get the original normal looking dashboard setup where it actually has a RPM odometer like other Crown Vics Idk if its just cause its a CVPI thing or its for P71's also

      When running the 87 I believe you can run 93 as well. When on the 93 tune it is strictly 93. I think but better to be safe and run what the tune calls for. The tune doesn’t bang gears and i dont think it will lead to trans failure. I did hear about reliability issues with the trans but a lot of people have run the marty tune for awhile. Sure beats the way it shifts stock. I would recommend the tune as i have an 04. As for tacometer if you got a tune the tuner would display that. If u Didnt id recommend finding a civilian part out and seeing if that gauge cluster would work. IM NOT sure if it will. Let me know if you have any other questions!

      The Tachometer was added in 2006, it maybe possible to add it to an 2005 car but I’m not sure how it’s done. It is not possible to add that newer tachometer dash to the older cars as the computer/electronic system is very different. And I could be wrong but I think 87 octane is the standard grade gas anywhere so you shouldn’t have an issue finding it. And if the station was out, you could always run higher octane. Does the sct tuner or Marty tune actually increase horsepower? ( if so, how?) Or is it just the improved shifting that makes the car quicker. And is there a tune for flex fuel/E85?
    I have a 2010 CVPI - thanks

    • @kollinlehr
      @kollinlehr  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So to my understanding it will add hp but nothing crazy. The factory tune on the engine is reprogrammed timing is changed etc etc but one of the great perks is the trans shifting. Lots of improvements there which improves the cars drive ability so much. The tune i have is 87 and 93 oct. I believe marty makes flex fuel tunes for vics capable of running them. So yes it will add hp! Maybe 15-20 if you have intake and exhaust as well. It basically changes how the whole car drives in a good way!

    There's something wrong with your car!
    For it not to do more than 80 miles an hour down the road it's got issues ( That's probably the reason you're able to get it with less than a 100000 miles on it.🤷‍♂️) because every Crown Vic police interceptor(20+) I've ever had will do well over a 120 no matter what the situation and your car wouldn't even do a burnout after the tuner when you wet down the street?
    That doesn't prove to be a good example for the tuner or your car.
    I don't get how you don't realize there's something wrong with that car!!! Have you ever driven another Crown Victoria police interceptor or police interceptor or not even a non police Crown Victoria could beat your car with or without the tuner!🤭
    ( Considering the fact that you have a wheel and tire sitting in the back seat behind you and I can hear random noises every time you hit a bump maybe your trunk being completely full of garbage might hamper the performance of a 4000 pound car with a 281cu.in V8?
    Nawww, that's probably completely fine.)🤤
    P.S.
    While I was watching your video I was seriously seriously contemplating with myself that if this tuner was less than 250 bucks I'm gonna buy it until I saw you water down the street to do a burnout aftpronounce after the tuner now now you couldn't give me one of those to waste my time with!!!
