  • Buachaille Etive Beag is often overlooked in favour of its more illustrious neighbour (Buachaille Etive Mòr). It is, however, a magnificent ridge in its own right, offering superlative views down Loch Etive and of the surrounding peaks of Glencoe. It also has the benefit of an excellent path easing the ascent and descent from the Lairig Èilde.
Join Alistair and Douglas as they tackle this hike very early in the morning, in an effort to avoid the worsening weather forecast!

That's a great wee hike. Let me know when you're planning on getting Alistair over the Anoch Eagach and I'll join you? Also, it's not windy if you can stand up...

Thanks Paul! It was too windy to fly from the ridge, but managed to get a quick flight from the car park at the end of the walk.

Really nice to see both of you together, it's been a while! Yet to do both Etive Beag and Etive Mor. Been concentrating on the Crianlarich hills etc recently but both of these are definitely on the cards. Well done again for the excellent work 😃

Thanks Marco! Unfortunately our days off work rarely align with each other at the moment, so it’s not often we get out together.
I’m sure you’ll love the Buachailles when you get to them! A lot of other great routes up in Glencoe as well 😃
      Cheers, Douglas

Fantastic views from this one. Up there with the best I’ve seen. Could see as far as the Black Cuillin on Skye all the way down to the Paps of Jura.

Excellent stuff and great to see this one again. Sid (one of my dogs) and I did this a few years ago with a dusting of snow and it was a superb day.
I found it more enjoyable than the Big Buachaille purely because you got to see the Big Buachaille and north across to the Aonach Eagach ridge, which I've still to do but never thought about just doing the two Munros 😂
    Brilliant again guys 👍🏼

Thanks, glad you enjoyed seeing it again! You do get some great views from it - I never got to see them when I was last up it 10 years ago as we were in the clouds the whole time, so it was great having some visibility this time.
Oh, and there’s no chance I’ll be letting Alistair do the two Aonach Eagach Munros separately - he’s coming along that ridge one way or another 😉
      All the best, Douglas

    Hello
Just a question is this path safe?
    No exposure or scrambling etc?

    • @HighlandHikers
      @HighlandHikers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Jack. Yeah the path is safe - this is a pretty straightforward walk 😃
