- Join me on a fine solo mountain hike up Buachaille Etive Beag in Glencoe, this stunning walk combines two Munros at each end of the ridge. Later in the day I meet up with fellow TH-camr @StripeyHatGuy for a wild camp on Stob nan Cabar at the northern end of the range, offering superlative views of Glencoe and beyond. Could this be Glen Coe's finest wild camping location?

Great video, such stunning views. Those montane prism pants are really good. I have had a pair for years. They are so useful, easy to get on over shoes and really warm. I even wear them in the house!
Cheers Jen, those Prism pants have sat doing nothing. Total game changer, no idea why I haven't used them before. 🤷🏻♂️. Got the gloves too and had the Jacket.
Lovely wildcamp there with the Stripemiester... Particularly enjoyed the peeing in the night demonstration - I'm not sure with all conscience I could sell my sleeping bag... But that's an age thing.. 😉. Hoping to visit one of the 'other' hills you mentioned later this week. 😎 Thank you for sharing Robinski

Loved this, it's because I've been there. But I didn't sleep out. I was creasing up with the pissing in a bottle story though wishing I had the bottle to have slept " up top".
It's an enjoyable hike isn't with fine views. 😁 lol, aye wasn't funny at the time. 💦 😂
I'd never heard of that sleeping bag before - the PeeHD is it? 🤣 I might start saving up for one, but I'll buy it new, not second hand. I definitely need to get into winter wild camping. That aurora was spectacular.

In the french part of Canada ( Québec) we would say " Super beau " wich is quite similar in the prononciation to your superbos🙂 and means litteraly the same thing . I alway's get out completely of my bag when I use a pee bottle , so that I dont miss a shot or 2 😋 . And my pee bottle is all wrap in some red taping . Red sky at night camper's delight, red pee bottle in the morning , camper takes warning ... thanks for the video

@@WalkWithWallace its an amazing sight to see, I remember the first time I saw it. drove nearly to Braemar from Fife and watched it dance in the sky at around 1am to then drive all the way home for work at 6am. I had a beaming smile all day long.

That looked like a perfect day to be out☀👍 with no wind!! Loved that sky with those cirrus clouds, the sharp views of the mountains and shadows and the contrast between white and brown. Good snack - I think they are stopping making the original and best Caramac. Cracking camp spot and mega cool to see the aurora👍👍 Always beware drips💧💧

Hi Robin - you've excelled yourself this time, as somehow, you've caught that real silence and stillness - which I was badly needing when I watched it for the first time, yesterday... We're lucky in Scotland to have easy access to so much of it, as there are times when you just need to go and be a tiny part of a massive creation, to get everything that's troubling you back into a good sense of proportion. 'Cant say I'm so sure about that image with the long johns elastic mind you 😂😂

Well that was a rather good trip 😍. I saw your Instagram post on Saturday night of the aurora thinking you were a jammy git being up there 😂. We could see it from Dunfermline area too quite clearly.
Coincidentally I'm having the same skin issue with my Garmin watch. Bought a new strap for it and had been wearing it on the other wrist, but just made a meal of that one too. Sake.
Been long overdue mate, first time I've seen it properly. 😁👍🏼
I think it's the silicone straps with sweat, it just goes for my skin. Thing is I've worn the watch for 2 years before without any issue. I tried nylon Nato strap, same issue. 😔
@@WalkWithWallace same, had the watch for 3 years without issue until recently. Hopefully the new strap will be fine once I let it recover 🙏
It's a slow wait for it to heal isn't it... 😴

Hi Robin, great to see you back out with Stripey, what amazing weather you had, absolutely Superbos! And to get the northern lights was even more special. They have been pretty visible lately. The other night a few people I follow on twitter got a great view of them as far south as the Yorkshire Dales. Thanks for sharing your adventure as always mate

Cracking vlog as always mate. Always good to see stripey out on the hills. I prefer the full zip sleeping bags for that reason, easy to kick off in an emergency and avoid cramp in the legs. Great wee snack segment too. That Aurora looked stunning. Looked like it matched the hibs colours there. Looking forward to Q&A video when its out. ATB.

Brilliant Video Robin. We were just down the road at Oss/Dubhchraig bealach after a wee last minute summit raid and camp. We could see the hints of aurora and were getting excited but it never amounted to much and deffo not as clear as you, lucky sod😊 That wee dot next to the moon, did you clock that? Apparently its the ISS but not sure if that is true or not.

I assumed that white dot was Venus, my astrology isn't the greatest. 😂

What a cracking view, the landscape almost looked alien! Beginning to see the benefits of the DJI. How was the battery in the cold? Great vlog getting a bit jealous being so far south 😔
Cheers Grey, the battery life is surprisingly good. One full chage last most of the hike. I then used the battery pack for the wild camp. Charged it up in my tent overnight, ready for the morning.

If you paint the back of your watch with nail varnish it will help with the allergic reaction....at least it works for me.
My Mum used to do that, I'm not sure that would be good for the sensors on the rear of the watch. Might try it with one of my old Casio watches though.

is it a garmin watch? Common problem a rash with their straps I hear using a velcro strap solves the problem. Its something im going to have to try.
Yeah mate, the Garmin Instinct Solar watch, I tried a velcro effort, helped but only for a while. 😔 Miss wearing it.

I think even the plastic rasin straps like you get on Casio watches are better than silicone.
