Glencoe: A Cold, Windy Hike

- We’d parked up in the van in Glencoe ready for our hike up Buachaille Etive Beag the following day. This would be Brora’s 1st Munro however the forecast was for wind gusts of 45 mph and significant windchill, would we make it?
We had a fantastic Halloween 🎃 hike.

Another smashing video with such epic views. I could tell Brora wanted off her lead.lol. You rock Linda.
Thanks so much Mary. 👍
Great views of our beautiful land, good vlog ATB
Thanks again. 👍
Very impressed Linda & pleased you came down in one piece, well done. I'm still subscribed, but no longer get notifications. I just spotted this video by chance. Just got some TEGERA 297 gloves too.
Thank you so much! Not sure why you don’t get notifications. That happened to a channel I subscribe to as well. Must be a glitch. What a difference with the Tegera gloves, amazingly good. 👍
Thanks very much Linda, beautiful views and the winter clip/vid was amazing, thanks.
Thanks Paula. 👍
Loving your videos🙂 and wee Brora living her best life with you 🥰
Aww, thanks Linda. Yeah, her tail’s always wagging. 👍
A cracking day despite the wind. Views were amazing. As always, Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Graham. 👍
Thank you Linda your video has given me massive lift out off my depressed state today Thank you so much just gives me a massive lift up today.
Aww, thanks Andrew. Glad my video helped. It certainly lifts my spirits getting into the outdoors. 👍
Another great video. It was lovely to meet you and Brora today on your walk today on West Lomond. Maureen, Linda and Kelly x
Aww, thank you so much. It was great to meet you all too & thanks for stopping to say hello. 👍
another brilliant video, well done!! I was up there a few years ago, its a grand view indeed down to loch etive.
Thank you. 👍
Beautifully filmed and really, really well presented. Being from south of the border my main stomping grounds are The Lake District and Snowdonia, but also enjoy watching folk’s adventures in the wonderful Scottish mountains - particularly when the quality is this good! :-)
Wow, praise indeed. Thank you so much. 🙏
Another great video very enjoyable watch again
Thanks Kevin. 👍
The West got some decent weather while the East got so much rain. I climbed Glas Bheinn same day, it was lovely. And was on the wee Buachaille on the 18th Oct. Another lovely wee video Linda 👍
Thanks David. 👍
Crackin views from the summit ridge. Long time since I was last up there but must go back and do it again - great reminder of what it has in store. Thanks.
Thanks Glen, it was a fab day & a brilliant hill. 👍
Well done! That looked very cold and windy. I love that part of Scotland. I’ve liked and subscribed, looking forward to seeing more from you!
Thanks very much Craig. It was very cold & windy but such a great day. 👍
Well done Linda, I was out on Bidean on the same day! Funnily enough I was in two minds with the wind at the Bealach but it wasn’t so bad on the tops so me and Finn the collie pushed on. Winter gloves were on though after a dose of the hot aches, minus 10 right enough eh! Glad Brora is getting her hills done, thanks again.
Thanks Andy. Bidean looked stunning that day. The wind was a bit weird that day right enough and very chilly. 🥶 I even though the heater in the van wasn’t working when I was driving, it took me so long to heat up! 👍
Dugs first munro... so cute ❤
First Munro, had to make a fuss! 😂
Thanks for uploading, Linda. Not quite sure why but we preferred Buachaille Etive Beag to Mor - seemed to get better views somehow 🤔 sound was great BTW. ATB.
Thanks Nick. I was surprised the wind didn’t effect the sound more. Much better path up the wee Bookle too. 👍
Great video 😊 Stob Dubh was my first Munro on Sunday the week before. And my dog Skye's first Munro too. We were a bit late to get up there, so we gave the other Munro a miss. Two days later we went up towards Ben Lawers and got drenched to the bones on Beinn Ghlas. Ticked off my 2nd Munro at the wee cairn, but had no views at all. Continued down onto the bealach. Decided to give Ben Lawers a miss, as it was clagged in anyway. Walked back along the somewhat sheltered lower path back to the carpark. Luckily my caravan was parked at the nearby High Creagan Caravan Park, so it was only a short drive to get dry clothes 😉
Stob Dubh’s a great first Munro. A good excuse to go back to bag the 2nd one too. Well done to Skye. The mountains will always be there so always a good decision to turn back & return another day. 👍
@@LindaOutdoors Agreed - and after walking down from Pap of Glencoe in darkness the week before, and the last bit from Kingshouse to Altnafeidh also in total darkness after climbing Beinn a Chrulaiste I just decided - nah we're not walking down the wee Buachaille in darkness 😉
I think I learned the bit about turn back & return by your Suilven trips and also The Munro Bagger on the Fisherfields. And after all you two are a lot younger and fitter than me having just recently started doing serious hillwalking - at 67 🙃
Well done for your perseverance thru the cold and capturing truly magical vistas.
Thanks James. 👍
What sparkling air clarity capturing the rocky vistas of the Glencoe peaks.
No matter ice and freezing winds, Brora's tail just keeps wagging🐕🦺, such enthusiasm! ever pulling you upwards and onwards😄
Superb video for all hill lovers, young and old!
Aww, thanks so much Mike. That means a lot. Brora never stops which I think keeps her warm. She’s a great wee companion. 👍
You're a braver woman than me. I would not have managed a fraction of that, especially with the high winds.
I’ve been in winds a lot worse but not with a dog mind you. Once I got over the 1st top there was barely any wind. 👍
@@LindaOutdoors I have this thing, were, if I think I'm going to fall, I panic. I am trying to break that.
@@AScottishOdyssey I get that. I’m a bit of a catastrophizer so tend to fear the worst. 👍
@@LindaOutdoors I can understand that as well.
There was a division of early Charles Darwin supporters called the "Catastrophists", so you're in good company. @@LindaOutdoors
Hi Linda and Brora. Wonderful video, and what a day. The cold was certainly coming down the lens of the camera! 🥶
Well done Brora on her first Munro. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us
All the best
Dave
Thanks Dave. Yeah, it was cold at the top! Winter’s not far off! ❄️
