  • 👋 Today it's time to learn how to ride a dirt bike! This is so much fun and is a great outdoor activity for anyone! But to ride, you need to learn how to operate the machine, so today let's learn how to ride a dirt bike!! Today it's time to teach you how to ride a dirt bike with a clutch. If you grew up riding dirt bikes, learning to use the clutch was the next progression into getting onto a more powerful bike as you got older or as you were ready to move up! It's not a hard concept to learn, but at first it can be tricky. One thing with a dirt bike is that they don't weight that much, so throttle input isn't needed to move the bike as long as you are on flat ground or on a decline. That is a big tip to know, because I've seen a lot of new riders give the bike way too much gas and that doesn't end well. So to learn how to ride, the shifter is the same as the smaller bike you have hopefully mastered, so now it's time to learn the clutch. First you pull in the clutch, then put the bike into first gear, and from there you can slowly start to let the clutch out and when the bike starts to move, you start to add some gas, slowly until you have the clutch all the way out, then ride the bike like normal. You will use the clutch to then shift gears as you get more comfortable on the bike and then use the clutch again to come to a stop and put the bike into neutral. Hopefully this is a great tutorial to show you the skills needed to ride a dirt bike and with this simple lesson down, it's time to ride and have fun! Like Honda says..."I wanna ride, I wanna ride, I wanna ride!!"

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed

      Neutral is in between 1st and 2nd. When you are in 1st and pull it up all the way, that’s 2nd. So you only go up one from 1st to 2nd and halfway is neutral.

    HELP!! I'm a girl who has ridden a 2 stroke 85 and I'm great at starting off and shifting... I got a klx230r and the only thing I just cannot understand is using the clutch going around a sharp turn. if I'm in 1st and go down this hill there's a sharp right I have to make.. as long as I'm going the right speed for the right gear I shouldn't have to use the clutch right? only hit my breaks? and should I not hit the breaks until I'm in the middle of this turn too? i see and hear some people pulling the clutch in only the tiniest bit while turning then just popping it out and hitting the gas again. do I really need to pull in my clutch a tiny bit as I'm in the middle and coming OUT of the turn? this isn't a huge sharp turn but sharp enough I'm scared to do it. I also can touch only with my tippy toes. I have problems stopping and putting my feet down because I'll accidentally lose balance and bust my butt falling on my side... any advice?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes if you are going at the right speed, you can certainly slow down without pulling in the clutch. Listen to the engine and if it sounds like it's ready to bog down, pull in the clutch, but you can go pretty slow in even 2nd gear if needed. Since I can't see this turn you are talking about, can't really judge when to hit the brakes, depends on how steep it is and if you need to slow down more. You don't have to touch the clutch around turns at all, but in some cases you do...just use your best judgment for that! If you have trouble touching the ground, it would make sense to keep your speed going so you don't loose balance on a slow turn. Hope that helps!
