Hey man. I found your channel back in 2018. I was asking you about advice on how to convince my parents to get me a dirt bike. I now have had 2 dirtbikes a 2018 Suzuki DRZ125 and now currently a 2021 Kawasaki KLX230 R. I just want to thank you for your help.

I just got a new dirt bike for my 15th birthday. I never rode a dirt bike before but this is really helpful. One thing I heard you mentioned in this video that I actually did is not holding onto the brake and panicking and I crashed into a ditch. It’s a miracle that I walked out of that with just a few bruises and no severe injuries
Hahhahahhaha man me too. I had just bought my first bike at 17 and had it home less than 10 minutes before I whiskey throttled and slid down the street. But it’s a good thing to have some fear of the bike, and it taught us early on that’s it’s nothing to toy around on. Not fear, but respect. Treat it like a loaded gun, because that’s what it is. Stay safe and enjoy it bro. Wear the correct gear no matter how dumb you think it makes ya look.

very thorough, great vid! quick question, I've seen some bikes can't stay in neutral without the rider giving it gas, or else the bike stalls. is that a problem, with like the carb or something or is it normal for some bikes?
That would be because the idle is set too low. It’s just one screw you have to turn slightly to raise the idle and that will stop it from stalling. Great question

@@teezy.4ep327 I went to Colorado Springs and absolutely every bike tour was sold out! A group of about 15 had rented every dirtbike and four wheeler. So, I will try to do a tour at an establishment in Grand Junction, Labor Day Weekend. My purchase bike that I'm waiting on to buy is the upcoming 2022 250 CRFL ABS dual bike. Its almost like trying to purchase a pipe dream because every bike in New Mexico and Colorado is generally all sold out!! I've been waiting on the 2021 KLX 230 ABS for almost two years, and noone has one in either state of NM or Colorado!! The pandemic has been tough on new riders trying to break into the sport because of low inventories at the local dealers.

I think a yz250f would be good. The yz125 is tough cause there’s no low end torque so you have to be in the powerband to have any power. I know cause it was my first bike and I struggled. If you’re on really flat trails it could work but I was on rocky hills
I’m learning how to ride on a 1989 KX 250 other than that my first bike was a PW 80 semi automatic i’ve also driven a manual five speed progater at my job on the golf course, which was a ton of fun

Thanks for the video. It will help me out a lot. I a mite keep re-watch it just to fully understand the dirt bike
My mom want to get me a dirt bike but I need to learn first. She got me a small razor bike and then a big powerful one. I have learned to stand and lay down on my bikes to learn to balance and do not panic . Once I learn gears. There is no way I’m not getting one. Thanks for the video man 😁
Good video. I would only make one suggestion. For a person trying to learn how to ride using the clutch. Try starting in 3rd gear. Because once your clutch is engaged and you start moving the bike will have very low power Because your starting in a much bigger gear. There is less chance of blasting off and going wild rag doll like most first timers.
That could work but I think those with no experience would be more likely to stall out and possibly hurt themselves when they start in first gear after that because they will be used to giving it more throttle in 3rd gear
Great easy tutorial to watch. I took a motorcycle class and passed 🎉🎉🎉😂 but I’ve never riding a dirt bike. My question is can you shift from 3rd down to 1st and what will happen.
I was always told to start bikes with the clutch in even when its in neutral, just to be safe. Just something I do, crazy how its just a habit for me now

Glad the video helped!
I've been saving for awhile and plan to get my first dirt bike sometime in the summer. I'm kinda scared to ride it but at the same time, I'm super excited considering that I've been waiting for this moment for thre longest
Having to wait so long is what made me love riding as much as I do
My guy
If I were a beginner I would have paid you for this video .this was the most useful video on the internet 🤣 😂 👏 👌
Lmao glad it helped!
Been riding my bike for about a year and I know all of this, yet I'm still sitting here entertained lmao. Good video! Definitely is gonna help me since my bikes been in the shop for awhile though.
Haha people love to come back and reminisce on when they started!
This video was really helpful. Thank you so much I just got a Kawasaki 250, 2023 for my birthday and this helped me out a lot especially because this is my first bike and I didn’t really know a lot about them.
No problem glad the video helped!

That’s great congrats on the bike!!
Just got a new bike for my 15th birthday, I haven’t rode in 9 or so years. This video helped a lot!
Glad it helped have fun with the bike!!
Im going riding Saturday so I will let you know how it goes!!! Thank-you for the instructional video!!!!
Yes let me know!! Glad it helped!!
@@BrapGenius I sure will and thank-you again!!!!
How did it go man
@@teezy.4ep327 I went to Colorado Springs and absolutely every bike tour was sold out!
The pandemic has been tough on new riders trying to break into the sport because of low inventories at the local dealers.
this is the first video i watched by you, 20 seconds in and already thinking about subscribing bro
Appreciate that!
Just got my first bike today guys! Cr250r and shes a beast havent rode it yet but this video explained it very well so basically its the exact same as driving a manual car ha
That’s awesome congrats!
this is definitely one of the best dirt bike tuts on yt im 17 soon 18 and dont know what a good starter bike is i kinda want a 125yz 2t but idk man. any other recommendations? Im 17, 5,9 height and weight 176 lb
I think a yz250f would be good. The yz125 is tough cause there’s no low end torque so you have to be in the powerband to have any power. I know cause it was my first bike and I struggled. If you’re on really flat trails it could work but I was on rocky hills
@@BrapGenius im in amsterdam in The netherlands the country with no mountains
@@mxkaqz it’s doable just gonna be challenging for a bit
Good stuff. I been riding around 44 years. Everyone should learn to ride and shift on a motorcycle . All ages
Hell yeah brother
I’m learning how to ride on a 1989 KX 250 other than that my first bike was a PW 80 semi automatic i’ve also driven a manual five speed progater at my job on the golf course, which was a ton of fun
That’s dope keep going!!
Appreciate this video; been 15+ years but my K140 is being delivered today and I’m stoked to ride it…though I know I can’t/don’t need to hop on and make a cocky-mistake.
Welcome back to the bikelife! Just take it easy until you get comfortable with a bike again. Congrats!
I just got a dirtbike for my birthday and its the same type as yours just a little different but last night me and my dad watched this video and today hes going to help me ride it because hes ridden bikes before so thanks for the video its really helpful!
Glad it helped good luck!!
@@BrapGeniusIT WORKED I mean I fell a few times but I am able to switch gears now! Thanks so much
@@The.noodleman that’s great that you made progress! Everyone falls, it’s all about getting back up and trying again. Good job
im going buy a dirt bike in 2 or 3 months and this is the video i needed to watch to learn how to drive a dirt bike so thanks and I subscribed
Glad the video helped and thanks for the sub!
hey man your so lucky to have a yz dirt bike I wish I had one also I would like you to make a tutorial on how to ride a dirt bike with no gears or clutch
You can get a yz someday! I had to wait till I was 20 to get my first dirt bike cause my family couldn’t afford it. I’ll look into making that video for ay
Hey ,nice video man... question
...do U let out the clutch first then the gas or at the same time?
Same time
You'd make great as a dad dude!Today i got my second bike at 15yr,its a Shineray 250cc motocross i really like it,sometimes i end up stalling it,but its no big deal, keep your head up you're doing great ❤❤
Thank you! And congrats on the bike!
Thank you brother! This will really help me learn the good using of a Dirt Bike!👍👍
@@urgekelemen4491 glad it helped!
I will have my daughter watch this channel!. Just got her a YZ85, and she is having fun stalling her bike in the beginning.
Haha that’s awesome man glad to hear she’s riding!
Thanks man I just got a new bike and I really don’t know how to ride. But it’s one down two up, to be in second right?
It’s one down and then one up, you slide past neutral without really feeling it
Some bikes have different gearboxes. Mine for example is
N 1 2 3...
From neutral it is one down to go to first.
After that it’s just up or down to go higher or lower.
Bro I’ve always wanted to ride bikes im finally getting one for Christmas this video has helped me to understand so much more bro thank you x
That’s awesome congrats on the bike good luck!!
Hey man, thanks for vid I have been currently saving up for the 2022 bigwheel by honda, honda was my only brand option bc it's only dealership in my town that seals brand new dirt bike and I have already full accepted that fact that I am ganna crash and terror it up bc it will be my first and I am going for the dirt bike before the equipment and I won't ride without it. Thanks for the video. It will help me out a lot. I a mite keep re-watch it just to fully understand the dirt bike
Also I subbed to your channel👍
I just got my son his first bike. He will be watching this. Thanks. Also tips on turning would be cool.
No problem glad it helped! And I’ll be sure to feature that in a future video
I’m trying to get into riding but still haven’t got a bike gonna save this video for times to come it was really helpful thank you
Glad it helped and good luck with the bike!!
So i was always more of a computer geek but recently i got into bikes and i wonder how do u make a dirt bike street legal?
Look up dirtbikelegal.com
Thanks man im buying my first bike and i had no idea what to do now i have a lot more understanding of what i need to do
Glad it helped!!
Much better instructional video than most high professional channels
Glad it helped!
My mom want to get me a dirt bike but I need to learn first. She got me a small razor bike and then a big powerful one. I have learned to stand and lay down on my bikes to learn to balance and do not panic . Once I learn gears. There is no way I’m not getting one. Thanks for the video man 😁
Hell yeah man you’ll love it
I appreciate your video so much!!! Extremely helpful and I feel confident for this weekend thanks to u :)
Np good luck!
@@BrapGenius thank you!!!
Yes you can’t do that it’s just like a motorcycle. Just make sure you go slow cause a random rock will throw you off your bike
I'm getting my first dirt bike next week. Thanks for tips
No problem congrats on the bike!
Great instructions very clear an easy to follow, what a champ thank u.
Glad it helped!!
I was always told to start bikes with the clutch in even when its in neutral, just to be safe. Just something I do, crazy how its just a habit for me now
It’s a good habit to have honestly
Honestly my fav video to watch to learn how to ride
That’s awesome glad it helped!!
Thanks man it really helped! I wanna get a dirtbike for christmas and I want to know before I might get it!
Glad it helped!! And that’s a good look hopefully you get one brotha
