      @@somedrunkdude5728 one concussion is a pretty common occurrence. In most combat sports, being knocked out (even just strong suspicion of a concussion) results in an immediate medical suspension by the athletic commission. Being knocked out a 2nd time after you return results in an even longer suspension. The reason for this is that brain trauma is cumulative and gets exponentially worse as it happens repeatedly in short periods of time. Tua was almost certainly still concussed going into the 2nd game and that's why the injury he sustained looked so scary from the outside. A first concussion just needs some time to recover, two bad ones within a week of each other is extremely, extremely dangerous.

    I've had about six concussions before i turned 18 due to injuries i got playing sports. two of em professionally diagnosed, the other four weren't but had symptoms of a mild or moderate concussion. I used to be a Straight A student before those injuries, but as time went on my grades started slipping hard. It became difficult to focus, I'd get random dizzy spells, and around my mid-20's i started hearing voices in my head - that turned out to be OSDD, which is basically a less-severe form of multiple personality disorder. Whether that all came from the concussions or not I'll never know until I'm dead and the autopsy finds CTE in my brain, but it's well known that head injuries can seriously affect the brain in numerous ways. Being a child and getting those head injuries increases the risk for severe side effects later in life, but getting two or more concussions in a short time span also increases that risk.
    Basically, Tua is lucky if he isn't permanently affected by this stupid situation the Dolphins put him in unnecessarily. Wishing him the best, and I just pray to any god listening he doesn't end up with the same fate as Justin Strzelcyk. The players deserve better from their teams and the leagues they play in, and as fans who watch these players compete we deserve better from the teams and the leagues too.

Did they think no one would notice and/or blame the wobbles on what could be perceived as a touch of heat exhaustion?

    Prayers up for Tua 🙏🏻
    While I'm no medical professional, there's no way Tua didn't have at least a minor concussion from the results of Sunday's game, especially with that whiplash to his head. Seeing that hit live was scary, and knowing what happened Sunday really calls into question how it was handled, and it certainly wasn't handled right. My boyfriend played football in high school and had his fair share of concussions and he still suffers severe side effects to this day, mostly his short-term memory but he has days he doesn't remember anything. The lasting effects are frightening, and if Tua decides to call it and leave the league I can't say I blame him, it's a damn shame how this was handled and this could've been avoided.

    • @chef_steff

      Okay, since we're not going to listen to or trust the people who actually examined him, those being medical professionals conducting tests necessary and approved by the NFL and NFLPA, then what would the 'right' way have been?
      How many weeks should a person sit out when the relevant medical personnel have cleared him? Just one week? What happens if he took head trauma when he returned in week 2? Would you say then it 'wasn't handled right'? And if he was forced to sit for a month... is that actually enough?
      Whole lot of people jumping onto the blame bandwagon without knowing much of anything at this point.

    • @aethlred7380
      @aethlred7380 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MST3Killa you don't have to be a doctor to see he wasn't ok. Stumbling and almost passing out after a concussion. There is no safe amount of time because there is no safe concussion. But there is an amount of time where you are less likely to suffer a subsequent brain injury. And a couple of days isn't that.
      Now he might never play football again. And he's lucky it isn't worse than that. This injury is purely the franchises fault. Your star player is showing clear signs of a brain injury yet you still allow him to play. They need to be the lesson for the league. You don't play a dude a couple days after a severe concussion.
