  • This is what a last place team looks like, the easiest out you could ask for and the Pirates managed to mess it up 3 times, enjoy the Not Top 10.
    Will Craig is technically a rookie I guess, he played last season tho.

    The baserunner himself motioning "safe" at the home plate runner while still a live runner. That is salt to the salt to the wound.

      U-Tree once referred to the Pirates as "MLB's drunken sailor", and this play is Exhibit One.

    Still love a tweet amidst a discussion on how many errors were on that play. “The first baseman doesn’t count because it’s not an error if you get Jedi Mind-F’ed by Baez.”

    Sorry, but in that situation not only should the second baseman have been covering first base; he should have been jumping up and down screaming for someone, anyone, to throw him the ball. Instead he's just standing there watching the idiocy unfold. It really looked like their entire infield couldn't remember the most basic rule of the game.

      That's because out of millions of times that play has happened, the batter always gave up and was tagged or tagged 1st if he was close enough (that's why no one covered 1st - because that has never happened before ever in baseball (announcers over 60 have said they've never seen that before). No one but Baez could have made this happen.

      I can’t believe how many people (other than you!) missed this point! Even the narrator was ready to excuse the second baseman’s role in this folly. While all this was transpiring, he had one thing and one thing only to do: Get his but down to first base just in case. Instead, he stood on second base like he had bought a ticket into the stadium. While not as egregious as the first baseman, he too screwed up pretty damned bad. It took a village.

    The fans should have demanded a refund. They paid to see a major league game.

    It doesn't even matter what the out count is. Take the force at first always, and stare down the runner rounding third (if you have forgotten the out count).

    This is the WORST and BEST play in the history of MLB that will likely NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN and if it does, MY CUBBIES wont be the laughing stock of it!! GO JAVY GO!!!

    Jomboy has a video of the B'more Orioles having a Little League inning that is on par with this for mental errors. They add some bad throws as well for the real Little League look, tho. Unreal.

    Actually when the BR started to run backwards towards home he is guilty of making a Travesty of the Game. At this point he is out and the run does not score. Not sure about MLB but from College, High School and lower that would be my call?

    • @Fifty50Network
      @Fifty50Network  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think he's fine as long as he doesn't actually touch home plate, and stays in the base path of course. The run can't score without him being safe tho so there was no reason to throw the ball, 1st baseman just had no clue.

      There’s 3 outs in an inning and you have to hit to keep the inning going or you’ll get outs and end that half of the inning
