  • Trauma surgeon Annie Onishi is back with WIRED, this time to go over the Home Alone films (you know, the ones that MATTER). Annie breaks down every injury from the first two films, explaining what would happen if Harry and Marv actually experienced the physical trauma that they sustain in the films.

    Biologist here, feather lice are common in nesting birds and while they are annoying, will not cause a long-term infestation unless there are other avian hosts. Plus they're quite large and easy to detect compared to human lice.

    • @PhantomQueenOne
      @PhantomQueenOne ปีที่แล้ว +8

      And a little diatomaceous sprinkled on the nest will stop the little buggers. Just a tiny amount as a little goes a very long way. You don't want the birds to inhale much it, or it will harm them. I had a bird with feather lice and I treated him with it. Wynter (all white pigeon), was pissed and kept giving me the death glare as he groomed himself. But no more feather lice!

    I stepped on a nail when I was kid very much like Marv there, except I was running in flipflops. So, although I had half an inch of sole between my skin and the nail, I was also putting the all the weight of my body onto that foot at that moment. The nail was sticking out a piece of black rubber - who does that? That's a literal trap! - and the rubber came together when I took my foot off the ground. The nails wasn't clean as this one either, it was kinda rusty.
    I had to get a Tetanus shot. I lied that the nails was very clean, but the doctor didn't believe me. Fortunately, it didn't infect.

    The thing for me as someone who did gymnastics and has an interest in stunts, all I can see when it comes to the falls is how they’re mostly landings that would be perfectly fine because the stunt person knew what they were doing (some needed padding I’m sure, but some probably didn’t tbh)
    **obviously excluding the height issue with the multi level falls that were cut together**
