These were some of the best looking trailers in the last 50 years. I love them!

You should hinge the bathroom door in the middle as well so that it folds in half along a track like some closet doors do. That way you can pull the gaucho all the way out and still allow full access to the bathroom without even touching the mattress on the gaucho.

Wow, I can't believe we vintage enthusiasts created such a demand for new trailers to be built in retro fashion. As someone who loves the original, I have a '57 Shasta Deluxe 15', a '57 Spartan 25', and a '61 Tourister Teardrop. Love 'em vintage.

The "modern" TTs of this size are just so boring and ugly and all look alike! Wish there were more diversity and choice.

We rode out a Kansas tornado in one of those in 1969. Dropped a cottonwood on the door and another flattened the tire on the Ford. Dad broke out the rear window with a frying pan and got us to safety.

Travel Trailer manufacturers have themselves made the argument against Union Labor! They build assured failure products with 1950's construction methods with a tease of modernity!
I got to tour a manufacturer in another country, they used 100% aluminum framing, boat building style fiber form construction and expanded foam insulating. A NO ROT and high survivability rate construction and they did it with split AC systems half the size of our AC systems. The result, a 15 amp cord can run it all!
And thats a 22 foot model that can be pulled by a freaking GEO Metro!
They are stuck with Union Labor rules that require high expense which makes investment and technology impossible. I say If they paid Piece Work, the best employees would be making 30% better wages, the bad employees would be back flipping hamburgers where they belong!

Јоhn Daniel - in Australia some makers of this type of vehicle do use sliding doors rather than hinged. They slide across the outside of where the toilet is on the inside!!! Also I had a 16' that had 2 rooms divided by a sliding door with a full time double bed, as well as a table bed, & lots of cabinets (about the same as the cabinet & bathroom in this 18'! The front room had a full height stove, small refrigerator, sink with both tank & mains taps! I regret selling it as it was so good!

Jason Carpp , these shastas as well as Frolics were and still are very popular in Michigan. They are small enough to store in downstate suburban yards or driveways, can be towed with the family car, and are used by thousands of hunters to go "up north " during deer hunting season.

To allow more space, consider a concertina door for the bathroom, then door does not have to open and take up space from the bed and you still have privacy when bathroom door is closed.

Because many people want a TV and there isn't much space to put a TV any where else in the trailer, so that is where you can put one. But if storage is more important to you, you could probably add that in instead.
