- In todays video we feature Laura, an American poet and writer in New Jersey. Laura is the author of seven published collections and is the founding editor of a magazine of Literature and Libations. The trailer was purchased as a zen den to place int the backyard during the height of the pandemic so she could write in a nice quiet separate space. Now it is for sale and I had the opportunity to do a full walk through tour with her before it’s sold.

The Queen’s Drive looking for new owner! Vintage Shasta 18 foot camper with toilet/wet bath, kitchen, banquette/folds to bed, a full bed, sink, original fridge, microwave, furnace, fuel tanks, brand new camp grill, original oven and stove, brand new standing AC ready for install with new owner. Axels/bearings good. Electric good. She traveled several hundred miles last august. Kept under carport we erected for the winter-last photo, so I could use in cold weather. Loving, calm interior! Much of it transfers except personal pieces. She was used as she shed/office. I used a standing heater, so have not used the furnace or water tanks as I was not using her to camp. She’s in great shape. No leaks, but like any vintage camper, has minor issues: one jalousie missing crank. One top vent seal needs fixing. Overall in fabulous shape. My plans have changed, but I love her.

I love Shastas. We had one while I was growing up. We loved camping. This model is a year or 2 younger. FYI, the overhead 2 door cabinets were another bunk originally. At the very top of the wall, there were barrel locks on each end, even with the cabinet doors in the wall, the wall would lay down flat over the top of the top window frame. The top of the window frame had pieces of wood like the ledge of the bench, that the cabinet wall would lay flat on. Then a thin mattress would fold out on it and it would be for a kid bed. This gave you 2 options to use this area the way you needed to. Aww, good memories.

Patrick.....this is special for an old-timer like me.....this is a trip back in time for me. Do you remember the Go-Tag-Along camping trailers? My family had one in my childhood......which, was back in the day of Shasta also. Good grief man, I would be glad to own this iconic trailer from the past.....it's condition is unbelievable for it's age! Please continue reviewing campers of the past as well, for, you give sooo many great ideas for retirement to this old longhaul truck driver from Ohio! 😀

What a beautiful travel trailer! It looks super cozy. I love that she did a little bit of a more modern touch up paint etc, but still maintained to keep it original.
I would love to see it with original bunk bed, but it must have been tight in the upper bed. So I understand why the previous owner took down that bed. I would probably done the same, since I don’t really need an extra bed
