My son offered to run it at Bonneville. I wouldn't call him a "dare-devil" though. Even "insane" would be a weak description of him. More along the lines of "Bat Shit Crazy" I'd say. He and his brother took the extra engine for the drag boat and somehow wedged it into a Honda Civic and took it out too the flats. A car that weighed no more than a popcorn fart with a blown, alcohol injected, all aluminun, 468ci Rodeck in a Civic. We have no idea what the thing would do. A mile and a half in, at 160, it started to disintegrate. Literally. The hood came off then the left front fender abandoned ship just before the plexiglass wind screen came in on him. He decided that it was a prudent time to lift. But he got 160 and wasn't in top gear yet. When we got down to where he'd finally come to a stop, after picking up car parts along the way, he figured he duct tape everything back in and try it again the next day. My daughter-in-law, upon hearing that, told him in no uncertain terms that he had two choices. Either "put the damned thing back on the trailer and go home, or find a good divorce lawyer in Monday morning". He's still married, but she hasn't quite, got him fully reigned in yet. She found a baby carseat out in the shop that had a custom frame under it complete with go-cart tires and wheels and a chainsaw engine. Needless to say, he's not allowed to be alone out in the shop with my grandson anymore.
I wouldn't mind taking it down the 1/8th, but not keen on the 1/4. If it were mine, I'd extend the wheelbase out some and at least 6" wider, and putting some larger diameter and wider slicks on it, and potentially a roll cage. Just to give people an idea on how insane this thing is. Let's just be conservative and say driver + kart is 400lbs, at 80HP that's a HP to weight ratio of 0.2. A Veyron is around 0.24 A stock Corvette C5 is around 0.1. The closest car I can find without tons and tons of digging and this is fitting... The 2017 Dodge Viper SRT and that is 0.19. So this kart is in the same power to weight range as a Viper. Anyone that has ever driven a Viper should be able to relate here. Now if by chance the kart and driver is closer to say 320 lbs which I am thinking would be about right, then it's closer to 0.25 so better than a Veyron.
Right on! They won't set it up for the 1/4 tho. It will take a lifetime to perfect. Longer wheelbase and the engine should be mounted in the middle on top of the axle for maximum acceleration. Also with nitrous, a tune, alchlohol, and springs and cam it would be up to par with f1 cars!
@@VasilyBuilds Yeah I am sure they wouldn't take it down the 1/4. As for mounting it in the middle? The wheel base would have to be extended quite a bit to do that properly. You really don't need to, just need to get the weight balance about right while sitting in it. Get a few bathroom scales put one under each tire get in it and move the engine and seat around until the back rear tires are close to being equal and that should cut it. Definitely need to widen the track as well it should be a little more stable and with the wider track you can fit wider tires. Now as for getting it on par with an F1 car? I assume power to weight ratio? Not including Kers an F1 car is around 0.47. To get about equal to that the kart would need to have around 190hp if total weight is 400lbs or about 152hp if it's about 320lbs. That's quite a bit of power, if they think it's scary now, with that much it would be insane.
Well with this mindset they will just end up building an Ariel atom that’s far from street legal... I’d keep it as a go kart and make the power more useable. Improve the design rather than make a whole new one
can you guys please say what rear sprocket you used on the axle? i am building a gsxr1000 kart right now and am having gearing troubles. can everyone please like this so they see? thanks
The fact that you guys built something that is totally unreasonable and totally unsafe that you can’t even use it to its full potential is absolutely amazing and imma have to do the same thing.
Great job guys, might be a good idea to add a 2nd caliper to rear axle to help brake that monster, also a different set of pedals might just make it more comfortable to run it at higher speeds and some kind of nose to keep anything away from the pedals, man I ( as a 56 year old man) would love a chance to drive such a wicked machine as that, racing stock cars is my thrill but to be at those speeds 2 inches off the ground must really feel special...show us more of the "death Ducarti" :)
Never did stock cars did have the opportunity driving for a man who had drag boats and tractor pullers. I also ran the mud bog circuit for several years. And have raced the frontier and mint 400s. But that was decades ago. My biggest thrill on four wheels now is my street legal Supercar powered by a Honda supercharged cbr1000rr. Around 230 hp. I Designed and built from the ground up. Chromoly frame cage. The front of the body looks similar to a GT40 the back is a fusion between a vet and a couple other supercars. 12.4 ' long 70" wide 1O80# ) After working the body out in wood, I vacuum formed polycarbonate. Leaving a nice smooth form for handlaying the colored carbon fiber. The cost of the body was under $1,500. It is four-wheel independent with decent travel and bags. 50% of the roads in our area are dirt just going and coming from the ranch is 8 miles of dirt road. but when out on the pavement I can drop it to within 4 in. I plugged the engine into a Corolla all-wheel drive limited slip transaxle. I have 36 gears, or six speeds with six gear ratios to choose from depending on need. Using Corolla hubs and rotors as well. (Over built) Of course that front wheel drive transaxle is in back. And what would have been the rear diff is in the front. Back to your statement. That feeling of flying 4 in off the ground at 190+. It's exhilarating and terrifying. Specially with the four-wheel drive hooking up in the corners. And when using high gear just cruising on the interstate, it's 40+ mpg. Cost of the build was under $4,000. looks, drives, and handles like a supercar. But cheaper than a buy here pay here car. Gee retirement is fun!! Let that be an inspiration for your own build. I'm 71.
take the ducarti to a empty parking lot, or a area with little to no obstacles and try to see how fast you can get it before you have to back off, also try and fix the traction issues so its a little bit less of a death machine, but i'd really like to see more of this cart
Would probably need one if the motor was on the rail in a decent rolling chassis and racing wheels/tyres with full pro safety features(at least all round racing disc brakes what with that power to weight ratio).... and ALWAYS a Professionally made ROLL CAGE.... a basic carbon fibre made one could meen staying alive longer... living is more fun than being dead... add a racing bucket seat with full racing harness and only then would I give it the full bollocks on a strip.... respect

Thats how they come when you buy it. I want to see it this way :)
Use a marine push pull cable.
@Daver G don't need clutch to shift if you do it right. Also before they had to take their whole hand off, grab another bar and then back to the steering wheel. Having both hands still touching the wheel makes reacting to an emergency much easier
Like I said yesterday put A Motorcycle engine on that rail ..... No more stupid little engines👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Its too big otherwise I'm sure they would
dude have you seen the 670?!?!?!. that ducati engine is like the same size if not smaller just in a different packaging/ style
@@Hermiwalle I mean they have said in video it's too wide to fit on the rail and the kart is a one of a kind being there 2 reasons they wont put it on the rail maybe they could use like an old Harley motor but as I say that I think that might be too big for them as well
They said the axle on the dragster cant take anymore power. It will take some more modification to make that happen.
@@kyleglenn4893 to be fair -just about- every single thing they make is one of a kind soooo.....🤣🤣
seeing you guys build the paddles in slightly more detail then Grind hard P.C. is a huge help in a build I'm working on. Cheers mates.
These kind of videos I'd like to see more, this makes engineering looks great. As a kid it looked so boring that I never did, but by watching it now it's like way too much fun! I'm 24 years old now, so who knows? Really nice video
I want to see that 900cc motor ons the drag rail and then you must take it to the trak
Does anyone else find the sound of their tools hitting the floor satisfying...?
No it annoying
Videos like these make me go on Craigslist
Boys.....I just thought of an immortal being who possibly has the courage to wring that thing at a drag strip, and who would create the best collab ever.....*drumroll*.....COLIN FURZE
Great idea that guy is a dare devil
Oh yes contact him please
Dude i dont think we could handle that combination!!!!!!!!!!
YES.
AHHHH WWWOOORRDDSS
Improve the design rather than make a whole new one
can you guys please say what rear sprocket you used on the axle? i am building a gsxr1000 kart right now and am having gearing troubles.
can everyone please like this so they see?
thanks
Chunky Smith how do I know this isn’t a scam?😑
you think im not building it? if i wasnt why would i ask?
I really hope it turns out well!

How’s your cart coming along
You guys have me in stitches most of the time between the 900 Ducati and 750 Honda 750 carts. Stay safe and keep the videos coming.
Put the ducati on the dragster like if you agree
Yes yes yes
Put the Ducati on the rail swap the engines around make the rail do quarter mile quicker
That rail is to big for that transmission
@@driveitbreakitfixit7496 your name says it all #fullsend
Yes!
drive it break it fix it no it would be fine
Make this the drag rail guys
Man oh man! Are these guys having fun and "living the life" or what! Subscribed!
Take it to the strip and make people want to sell their drag cars
Agreed.
I ageed to
You guys should take that thing to the drag strip
Yeah, for Once. Last. Ride.
Wait, I thought they did? For the TV episode.... It ran a 8.98 in the 1/8th with major traction issues
PUT IT ON THE RAIL!
(Over built)
Of course that front wheel drive transaxle is in back.
@@Ozarkprepper643 you better have a video of it on your channel after reading your comment. I need to see that hell hound of a car

Put the Ducati on the rail please that would be so cool
take the ducarti to a empty parking lot, or a area with little to no obstacles and try to see how fast you can get it before you have to back off, also try and fix the traction issues so its a little bit less of a death machine, but i'd really like to see more of this cart
when ike or john is scared to drive something you know it's fast
Drag rail ducati and a good time to put a parachute on it for fun.
Would probably need one if the motor was on the rail in a decent rolling chassis and racing wheels/tyres with full pro safety features(at least all round racing disc brakes what with that power to weight ratio).... and ALWAYS a Professionally made ROLL CAGE.... a basic carbon fibre made one could meen staying alive longer... living is more fun than being dead... add a racing bucket seat with full racing harness and only then would I give it the full bollocks on a strip.... respect
Put that engine on the rail!!
Holy crap that thing is insane!
this dude was going absolutely balls out i give him props for giving us what we wanted
You can see the comments are piled up to do what I’ve asked you to do so many times for so long is to do the obvious. You guys are driving me nuts with procrastinating, you know you’re gonna.
Ike's boss:Hey, the lever is gone! How are we gonna do this?!
Ike: It'll be fine.
You guys need a chain guard on that because if that snaps your arm and shoulder will be hurtin something bad
Or if your jacket gets caught with a gear...
I had a buddy with a guard and when the chain broke and hit me it hurt something fierce. I can’t imagine how it would be without a guard.
Gold chain don’t break
It sounds wicked af!!👍🔥
You guys should strengthen the frame on the dukarti, build a roll Cage, and put a slower ratio rack and pinion on it, and find a Harley Davenson Vrod engine to put in the rail
Put it on the rail it deserve it killed the 670 need that 900cc beast
wow its finally here. so proud. I had a bit of a disagreement with some of the fellow subscribers about the drag rail project.. this kart is a fine piece. wish the engine was on the drag rail but hell ill take it. nice job. fantastic.
I suggested that you put on paddle shifts on that cart a long time ago but a year ago I'm glad to see you guys finally did it that thing looks to be working suite keep up the good work guys love those videos keep it up
Yup, still the best channel on TH-cam.
danbbb 👍👊
you guys should take it to the drag strip
I closed my eyes when you started welding around 5:15 lmao
This is when you have to much power in your RWD setup in forza
Suggestion - Three wheeler. The front end from a kart (from the seat forward), with the back end of a mini bike. (Maybe play around with different rear tire sizes and widths. )
Reverse trike. I been wanting to build one for years. Front end of old mini atv and rear end of mini dirtbike. Then you left with a rear end of a atv and front end of a mini dirtbike for other projects.
Put the ducati engine on the rail Just do it you guys can make amount were you don't have to modify the original mount that's already on their for the 670 you basically can just swap engines out
And they already said that they don't want to do that because the ducati is one of a kind
@@Yung_Hefty they didnt say that the ducati was "one of a kind" as a reason for not putting it on the rail. the reason why they wont put it on the rail is because the axle would snap if they did put the ducati on it. didnt ye see the video before with them testing out the rail on the fixed 670? they said they wont do it and they showed footage of the axle flexing with the 670 on it
*So basically, my gocart sounds like a Ford Mustang*
Hell no a desmo engine don't sound like those shits. I had a 900 ss cr and my bro has his legendary 748. Don't you dare say that. I also have 3 Ford truck motors sitting in the backyard broke now from Engine swaps we've done. They suck ass man

make your paddle ONE piece not two floppy halves! no joke, it's the major flaw of what they'd done here. one piece WILL stay tilted for gear positions so you CAN get a feel for (and see too) what gear you're in.
@@modelnutty6503 ah, I see what you're talking about.
Use a BMX style "Detangler" for the cables 😎
Trent Nell i doubt they have enough throw to put it in gear but idk
@@thad0519 I agree and don't know, but that could be fixed with a linkage to adjust the ratio.
Why won’t you guys give the fans what they want and put the Ducati motor on the drag rail, you have a drag frame and a high hp motor, where is the disconnect here guys.....
Maybe their sponsor doesn't want to have the fastest kart lose their powerplant.
Mike Tymchuk maybe the sponsor should step there game up and supply a better power plant then
sponsor issues and they would have to heavily mod and change the rail to make it work
spacey bard no they wouldn’t
@@Starshipstoner There's no way to build that 670 for anything close to the Ducati. The predator engines will only ever make so much power
I love these guys, they don't know what a box is. Monte Alex and I were like that back in the early Seventies.
