you guys could put that hugely overpowered 900cc motor in a really nice home built crosscart ,and then put something a bit smaller on the go cart ,,CR500 motor in that cart be sick !!
So I am 41 now, but I had my first minibike when I was 7 years old. My mom bought me an old minibike with a 5HP pull-start Briggs on it and I hated it. It took FOREVER to start and the brakes were a steel plate that rubbed on the rear wheel to slow down. My mom bought me a newer one and it was amazing. My youngest son (I have two teenagers) is 12 and last year I bought him a 110cc Thumpstar and it was BEAT and smoked like crazy, but it ran great, so he rode it. I recently rebuilt it into a 140cc monster dirtbike, and he's in love with it now. It's almost too big for him now with 16" rear and 17" front wheels and tires.
Yup had a blue one for ever I put 5 motors and n it traded it got it back moved it all across tx .I had my kids on them two but there 18 an 19 so Iam back to riden buy my self ...😢😢😢😢😢
I’m 62 and my first mini bike I was 7 also best Xmas I ever had lol I turned into a motorcycle daredevil I started jumping small ramps and if somebody jumped further than me then I would build a bigger ramp and bigger until everyone else would chicken out then I would do it again and again thank goodness I had plenty of spills but never got hurt badly lol
20 here.. built a ct200u that was rough put a subaru motor on it 5.0 horse with a torque converter with the riser plate. didnt re gear it. but im getting road tires, a horn, reflectors. I have a mirror and got footpegs with studs. like a little truck but a mini bike like a four wheeler with racks tied a basket with rope onto it so I dont drop my phone or nothin. its so useful I love it because I can use it regularly! also. odd i know for a motorbike. I really recommend thumb throttles. they are much safer and a smoother ride/fuel delivery to me like a pedal.
I hear you Danny. I didn't think that was 8 years ago, but it must've been. I just turned 41 last month and I still love messing with Go-Karts and dirtbikes.
The fl350 odyssey, and really every iteration before and after it (250, 400 pilot) were such 80s icons. I can remember seeing them riding on the riverbed in late 80s when I was 10 and wanted one for what seemed like forever. I have been fortunate enough to have several of each model since then, except for the 400, and still nothing beats the feeling of sliding down into the cockpit, hitting start, and taking off in one. There was a good dude in Kansas years ago that sold new and used odyssey parts, Randy was his name, might check and see if he's still around if you need parts, he had everything when everyone else had nothing. Really looking forward to the future episodes!
You guys should do a throwback episode were you burn the shit out of Johns pops garage with bugger welds.... Then do a complete restore of the garage with glowing epoxy floors.
That swap meet looks amazing! I wish we had this in the UK. We don't even have anywhere to ride off road anymore, everywhere has been closed down. You have to own your own land, which is unaffordable.
Come on over here, we have room...for anyone who wants to do it right...hang out for a month or so...some TH-camrs would probably be glad to sponsor you...there are so many interests on here, from powersports to firearms...just contact them through email and let them know of your interest...good luck...
@@sykwookieeI would love to come over, but unfortunately I have been banned from setting foot on US soil. I visited Dallas FW area on a visa waiver, but I had a criminal record for growing weed years ago, the American embassy in London wasn't happy with me, and that's why I'm banned 😕 I really enjoyed my time there, I hired a Glock 17 at the shooters club in Fort Worth, and went karting at a place I can't remember the name of? You paid in, and rode the karts as much as you want, they had a 4 lane dragster track on rails as well. I am quite jealous of the motor sports action you have there. I also visited a modified dirt oval at Grayson county, it's crap here in comparison 🤷🏻♂️
Man dad bought me a 1983 Honda Odyssey SOOOO MUCH FUN!!! Man I got some really killer memories with that rig! So much torque! Man what I wouldn't do to have that thing again!
I own a 1989 Honda XR250R so I was hyped to see you pick up the ‘87 XL! Me and my dad just rebuilt the motor and next time I’m at his house I’m putting it in the bike.
Fort worth airport is massive! One terminal is bigger than the whole airport in New Zealand. Everything is bigger in Texas! Such a great bunch of guys at go power sports!
That kart is the source of all my inspiration, and what originally made me want to build a small-engine danger machine. Much love, guys, keep up the awesome work, and yall should consider a track day with the Ducarti (maybe with a muffler).
Love this Project! Back in the day I put a Dirt bike CR125 2 cycle dirt bike engine on a 60's Margay Cart (Originally McCulloch 100cc). Same deal as you, the smallest sprocket I could find for that chain. Really NEEDs a JackShaft for more Axle RPM. 1st and 2nd unuseable.
Hey John quick painting tip from a 30 + year painter instead of using so much tape wrap stuff with aluminum foil it does a great job and a hole lot easier to take off.
I drive past Go Power Sports going home every day, I always check to see if y'all are out there or if the Bus is there. One day I'll get lucky. Love your content, keep up the great work.
See i think this is the craziest thing you guys have ever built. I used to have a '94 Ducati 900. I cant remember the exact model it was heavily modified i dont even think it was the original frame. I know the swingarm, front and rear brakes, and fork were from a 2007 1098. The engine also had custom ground cams, a bunch of headwork, oversized valves, stiffer valve springs, super trick Italian polished carbs that didn't even have a brand name. The dude i bought the bike from was Italian and told me the carbs were from a 90s race bike. I believe him because they were probably the best carburators ive ever dealt with. When i sold the bike i put 2 yz450f carburators on it and put those carbs on both my yz450s. Its unbelievable how much power you can get from a really really good carburetor. The difference was honestly kinda crazy. I fell in love with 2009 yz450s. I own a 2024 yz250 2 stroke too. But ill never go to a fuel injected dirt bike too much can go wrong when youre in the middle of the desert. Anyway that old Ducati didn't have a speedometer, just a tack. But i was 6th gear pinned right behind a buddy of mine on a zx10r and he said we were touching 180 mph. An engine capable of driving my 6'5 250 pound carcass and 360 pounds of motorcycle to damn near 200 mph would be TERRIFYING on a shifter cart with no suspension and rear brakes only.
@@NubsWithGuns um..no. that actually has nothing to do with what i said. Anything with no suspension and that power to weight ratio is ridiculous. No matter how many times its been done.
This episode reminds me, while you're revisiting old projects. when are you going to revisit the Honduki project? because I finally bought a really good quad chassis. and now I'm looking for a Honda 750 four engine to fabricate into it. so I can have one of the most badass quads on the planet. and thanks to Ike I'm going wear riding gear and be careful riding it. like John I would like to find a Honda Odyssey. but they are sorta difficult to find especially where I live. that 60 Chevy wagon was sorta cool. it's the same age as I am. my father used to have a 60 Chevy wagon. it was a teil green color with a 235ci straight six and a three on the tree. he had that car for quite a while it was a pretty good car even though it was a little under powered.
I do like all your new projects but I can't help but think I would be happy to see you guys improve your old stuff for the rest of my life! Cheers. Edit, you probably want to look at baffles in the sump and keep an eye on oil pressure. Motorbike engines are meant to be leant into corners, by keeping it vertical you can get oil starvation.

Maybe it’s just my dream but it would be sweet to see how you guys would build it.

The Ducarti for sure needs to be taken on a go cart track(maybe even a full size track) or at least 1/8 mile drag racing. That thing is nuts.

I would rebend that exhaust and definitely add some heat shielding.A higherback seat might make it more comfortable under heavy throttle. acceleration

Im 22 and my dad had a honda oddesey fl250 I never got to ride it but man watching him, that thing ripped!!! His was older and straight axle tho
Always good thing to support all tracks to keep the sport of drag racing living for years to come
Pate swap meet vids are always my favourite. If i lived in the states id love to go to a swap meet like that.
Putting a body on the ducarti would be great, looking forward to the build
YES i'm so glad to see you guys ripping the dirt up with the Dukarti once more, have a good one fellas 😁

Love that you got the oddy, had 7 of them in the last 3 years they are so much fun

Yall should try to make it to Townsend TN. First weekend of June. Smokey mountain small bore rally. It's going to be a blast like every other year
What is the definition of "small bore"?
Something else that would work great on the brace would have been to paint it white/grey and drop a red LED light strip inside it for backlighting.
