Oiling the teak would have helped keep it from cracking or atleast putting a wet sponge where you're placing screws that is if you're not willing to bevel the screw holes slightly

Nice video. I'm wondering why you didn't bevel the holes before caulking and replacing the hardware?

The holes were beveled, we just didn't film that because we'd already filmed it in one of our very early videos.

What kind of caulk did you use??

We use 3M Marine 4000 UV on pretty much everything above the waterline.
