Well… As a Landy owner from Germany 🇩🇪 I can honestly say … NICE job Madame, Sir… 👍 The thing I like most about your setup is the simplicity… nothing fancy and IF something brakes or is worn out, you can easily replace it… well done… As far as the counter top is concerned, one of my kids is a professional carpenter and she told me there is about 5% shrinking to be expected for unseasoned wood… meaning… should not be much of a problem. However, I do hope that you did not to much Sikaflex as a bonding material… because that is only good for about five years, then the UV light brakes everything down… but since you used ample screws and nails… should not be a worry either … Always happy travels and stay safe wherever you go 👍 Greetings from Germany everybody 👋
Interesting! No I did use glue and nails (done properly) I don’t rely on sikaflex to hold things together. Sure stick things down to a flat surface that doesn’t move but when building you need to use correct fixings. Especially with these roads in Africa!
Am impressed ! Great layout for the camper - workmanship just awesome. Well done. Carpentry is definitely in your future .. .. .. ha ha ha ha. Looking forward to your Africa travels !!
Great work from the both of you! Awesome to see you tag team this effort to build a really well thought out camper. Looking forward to seeing the Africa adventures in 2023. You've got me excited to get Lucy back out for some adventures here in the US once things with work slow down a bit. I hope you both are able to enjoy all that 2023 has to offer!
Thank you Alec! It’s been a lot of work but together we have built our house on wheels. We can’t wait to actually use it on Africa. That’s great to hear, we hope you get back to your adventures too 🤙🙌 We hope you are doing well. Chloe ☺️
What a great conversion! You've both invested so much time and energy into this project - the rewards are plain to see! Can't wait to see your travels in Africa!
Hello you two. Loved watching your rebuild videos. You've took your time and made an excellent job of kitting the land rover out. Thank you for sharing and all the best on your next adventure 👍
I don't have a land rover or recreation vehicle.. i just really enjoy watching people like yourselves doing these adventures. Once i retire id love to buy some kind of camper van and go wherever it takes me.

Good luck with Africa, my wife and I are currently planning our trip there next year. UK to Cape Town down the west coast. Logistical nightmare but its been my dream for years to travel the west coast, finally at the point in our lives financially where we can do it.
Amazing, this was our original plan. There are lots of people doing it. Something that put us off is the cost of visas down the west coast. The cost was huge! That will be an adventure for sure. Harry
@@TheLandyExpedition it’s slightly daunting at the moment, the Visas are the main issue, cost yes but also planning when and where to get them, Nigeria is the big one, currently has to be obtained in your home country but is then only valid for 3 months, we may end up leaving without it and then one of us flys home to get it.

Where are you guys at the moment? I'm in Cape Town and have a Cruiser thats nicely kitted as well, and would love to meet up with you guys and show you some sweet 4x4 trails and wild camping spots in the mountains 3 hours drive from here!
Really well done! We're heading to the Canadian and American Arctic ocean this summer for 60+ days from Colorado. Still need to build out the back of our Defender. I think I've said before, you've given me tons of ideas. So excited for you guys going to Africa!! Cheers, Ken
